GT-1, it looks to me as though the render flag for that plot of land hasn't been set correctly. I can't reproduce that bug myself, but if you could change the the following entry in landSW.ide:

3143, sub_indland07, subind3, 2, 200, 6

 

We'll see if that does the trick. wink.gif

 

karl, the Scenery Flicker Fix takes care of that. It's just the occlu.ipl file with all the data taken out... your guess is as good as mine as to why it works, but it does.

I bet. I havent been following your guy's progress as much since i got lost in the single topic madness. I looked at all the downloads and fixes and got discouraged. I am waiting for the big release.  biggrin.gif

Have you tried roger's unofficial version? I wish I could get some feedback on how well that works so we can at least make it official until a more recent one is compiled.

It works fine for me..although some bugs that are in the Bugs thread..

Not to mention that Blunted1's work contained some of his own unofficial stuff that we already had official versions of. A good indication of his dedication to this mod dozingoff.gif

I had an extremily great deal of dedication to this mod while I was allowed to work on it.

I did a heck of a lot of work for you and your team and did my best to make a worthwhile contribution which you may aswell have spit at, which goes to show just how ungrateful you truely are.

 

As far as unofficial, at the time I left my installer had one loading screen that was unofficial and absolutily nothing more.

And unless you are blind you will notice I offered to remove them about a dozen times at the drop of a hat whenever you decided that it was time for an official release.

 

So quite your belly acheing unless you started complaining like a sissy just to get a chance to speak with me.

I love how you criticize my work. My work is nothing more than a compilation of yours, so you are doing little more than insulting yourself.

 

 

 

 

Unless you are incapable of getting on with your own miserable life, I would respect that you quite slandering my name for no reason when I have already agreed to leave peacefully otherwise.

If you cannot handle that then you can be assured that I will be back for longer than this one post.

I'm officially freezing myself for this project because I just can't secure enough time to do the things I said I might. I havn't even managed to get around to installing it, although I have most parts downloaded.

 

I've left it in the projects list on my site so that I won't forget about it, just that I won't be working on it for a while. dontgetit.gif

There were also the GTA3 xbox textures that are un-official. Why cant all you guys get on well, please I guess this will never happen.

 

Over the course of this mod I have spoken to Blunted1, Demarest and Killer.ip. You all seem like good guys and im sure something can be worked out. You all seemed like good guys and thats the way I want to remember this mod and anyone who contributes to it. smile.gif

I have no grudge against any of you like I say, everyone working on the mod has done a great job.

 

@ Talidan, like I said before and I will say again, if there are any mods that conflict with the different files, go for the one that was released latest this should surely be right.

Nope that just makes things worse, if no-one else has this problem then just leave it for the moment. I will get all up to date again on the mods and see if this things dissapears. smile.gif

It's flag is rather strange though, identifies that plot of land as having an interior... I'm guessing it must mean something different under GTA3.

 

Hopefully a reinstall should solve the problem. wink.gif

The only reason why the polmav follows the tracks is GTA:WO or shall I say Pinecreek-skidz set the flight data for the patrolling helicopter which was explained above. The original Vice City has a handling setting for a train but all other related items where taken out of VC like the track.dat files. We have to avoid using any of the existing flight.dat files as all are needed for other ports.

 

Airtrain (GTA:III) to Airtrain (GTA:LC)

Dodo (GTA:III) to Dodo (GTA:LC)

Chopper (not used in paths for GTA:III) needed for Chase copter in (GTA:LC)

We should however empty out the flight2.dat file so the chopper doesn't fly around liberty as it didn't do so in III

 

Using the chopper is not exactly pratically either as I believe there is only 2 choppers where as the train is 4*2 cars per train = 8 paths.

 

It looks as though we will have to simulate the train aswell.

Unfortunatily GT-1, I don't see that happening.

I am more than willing to do my part and I am more than willing to contribute to this project once again....

 

But Demarest sees things differently and has asked me (almost respectfully) to please leave which I did on my own accord and I will do once again so long as no one wants me back badly enough to directly mention me.

 

So long as Demarest can let sleeping dogs lay and not insult and demean me for no reason whatsoever, you wont see me here anymore and I will leave all the work in the more than competent hands of the rest of the team.

I am sure they will do a great job with or without my installer.

 

If anyone wants any help or the latest version of my installer you can still contact me outside of these forums through PM or email and I will still be more than happy to help you no matter what question you may have.

 

 

P.S. GT-1, I had removed the X-box textures in the last installer I released and they are no longer in the installer I am currently handing out. wink.gif

Besides Dem himself said they may be used "officially".. and whatever god, I mean Demarest, says is "official" goes doesn't it? lol.gif

 

The point was there was nothing unofficial about my installer (nothing that couldn't be removed in ten seconds flat) and Demarests moaning about how "unofficial" my installer proves how much of a chip he has on his shoulder for no reason, and this crap about how I was not commited to the project is just as much a farce.

 

Because I had an alternate loading screen that I made, apparently I have no "dedication" to this mod lol.gif ROFL

That is the biggest load I have ever heard.

I am sure any moron can take a look at the installer i made and the work I put in and realize that I had a great deal of dedication in order to update that thing every two days.

BTW, when was the last time it was updated since I left?

Guess that shows peoples commitment and "dedication" level in direct comparison to mine confused.gif

Consider yourself fortunate that I'm bothering to reply to you at all. You were told to leave and what would happen if you didn't. The fact that you left then and there and did NOT antagonize us further (publically and on this website) is the only reason I leave your posts here. Wrong answer. You are not welcome here. The sum of your actions are self serving, generally disrespectful and undermining, and are totally obvious to everybody on the project.

While compiling official releases to make an installer, using a screen that our project never released would be an INTENTIONAL one. That's A. B: It said GTA:LC, so SOMEBODY (wonder who) made it. C: Though you speak as if you could at any point in time replace it and was going to, you never did. Somebody with this project in mind would've taken it upon themselves in the first place. So it was unofficial; something you willing admitted in the past, yet you attempt to fight against it here. Again, public record.

Why would I need the respect of the likes of you? The respect I get on my own is genuine by those who notice my person or my work or both. Again, you did not leave until you were directly threatened by me. Know too that as soon as the dust settled there, I received a PM from EACH of the team members stating that they were glad that you were gone and that I had done the right thing. This continued attempt at getting people to PM you over a mod that I have fought from day one to keep public is probably the single largest piece of evidence that you have unrelentingly provided us that your interest is in your own furtherment than the well being of the mod. The second of course was your repeated display of language such as "your team" that in fact divided the contributors to the GTA:LC effort. Encouraging people to privately contact you for support for a mod that is both public and contains none of your efforts that you consequently also tried to unravel is counterproducative to our efforts. We already fight the rumor that WO has contributed in any way to our efforts and I'd rather not have to add you to that list. Give it a rest already. Oh, btw, you won't be able to send/receive PMs here if your account is banned. Sort of makes leaving like you're supposed to just to maintain your ability to undermine us via the PM system to be more tantalizing, doesn't it?

With your installer on the market and roger's following it, what need have we to come up with another one? Most people grabbed the ones that were available before your tantrum subsequently made them unavailable and roger's is still available. You remember roger, right? The guy you tried to censor and control who was supposedly on "your team" but turned out actually wanting to further this effort after all? I guess that shows how the dedication of some were viewed by all of us to be more useful because it was not accompanied by a persona that was contrary to everything we stand for and are working towards.

 

I reitterate: those posts are tolerated. Further ones will not be. Leave. You are aware of the consequences if you do not.

If simulating the train is necessary, then I think it would be best if we did NOT have one randomly roaming about, but instead make one appear once the player stands in the pink circle to summon it. Not authentic, but possibly the easiest implimentation.

Now I know how a car author feels when their work's been stolen only to reappear on GTA3.net under someone elses name... dozingoff.gif

 

It's been three months since I started work on the project, and I'm in a fairly unique position in that it's been possible for me to contribute all of my time during those three months, and that's including time over the holidays too... good job my machine goes where I go.

 

For my work to be used in such a clandestine way is fairly upsetting, I have no problem in unofficial installers as long as they're kept on this board... but as soon as someone starts compiling other's work and saying how much time/effort's been put into them is ridiculous. I've said this before, the compiling of our work is the job of a clerk, please don't confuse compilation with creation... wonder why blaer get's pissed off with Spit811 & Pumbars? That's the reason.

 

Forbidding the use of any of my files, especially in an unofficial installer advertised/distributed outside of this board, isn't going to happen. Why bother when there's no way to enforce it... but please bear in mind the decision blaer took when this started to happen to his work. sarcasm.gif

 

[EDIT] - Just to clarify, I'm in no way saying that I'm the only one whose files are being used this way... my ego hasn't mutated to that extent just yet. biggrin.gif

I think the train should be the last thing to simulate. If we have tons of code space left we should go all out if we have limited code space we should dumb it down.

got your pm killer.ip, that bug (cars spawning on top of another) is probably in the main.scm, the paths have nothing to do with it as those are parked cars, and parked cars are placed in the main.scm.

Before I installed the updates it was working fine, but I want to see cars and peds in the streets, with hidden packages, and most of the fixes.

Before I installed the updates it was working fine, but I want to see cars and peds in the streets, with hidden packages, and most of the fixes.

If you're building up the game manually the best advice I can give is to reinstall VC, add WO's files, then add ours a step at a time, you need to verify that each stage of the process works before moving on to the next one. One fix at a time should do the trick, and if the process involves the Mod Installer then rebuilding your archive with IMG Tool is necessary.

 

Backup up your /data & /models folders before adding the next set of files, it'll save you starting from scratch if something goes wrong, and it helps us in that your bug report will contribute to making future releases more stable.

 

If you do find a particular file giving you any trouble we should be able to correct it before it gives anyone any more grief. smile.gif
