GTA3Freak-2001

At least nowadays most people interested in this mod have no doubt played GTA3 enough to know what happens in most of the cutscenes although it would be good to have the orginal cutscenes but that is impossible as Demarest said. So the alternate options look like the best way to go in my opnion.

i remember saying a while ago that id do the EXE, or anything related to the EXE so if you want my help jsut give me a yell, im sure i can do what you want

ok i took it away from the picture. but i belive the kenjs casino railings and the textureless dirt mounds are bugs. alien.gif

 

E: the only bug is the dirt mounds , the 2d fix helped to solve kenjs casino bug.

Bump!

 

Whoever's in control of the map files, in gta3maps/landsw/landsw.ipl, the following line

2776, helipolice, -1553.1, -906.715, 15.749, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0.5373, 0.843391

needs to be commented out or removed. Nomad v4 will be the last version that tries to eliminate that dummy chopper through the code.

So you can make the EXE without violate the EXE editing law.If you can do this i have some questions can you make the world boarders bigger than the original so we can make bigger maps do you gonna release the EXE for the community?Well this topic is getting my attention.Good work Dem.

Sounds good, use the original voice acting for our pseudo cutscenes. This does leave it to the end user to make the changes to sfx.raw though, as it's been said before... that's a big file to be distributing. biggrin.gif

Actually, all cuscene audio is done with WAV and MP3. GTA3's WAVs and MP3s take up 555MB. So if we're skipping cutscenes, we should skip audio as well and do everything via GXT. Unless we want to have an app copy over a person's installed GTA3 audio files, we'll have to do it via GXT. Plus, the GTA engine has a limitation where it can only call upon audio files with predetermined names. So any app that was to copy over the GTA3 audio files would also have to rename them to names that are like VC's audio files. This would be just like the GXT in that I would have to either have an index of what files become what or I would have to make that index as I coded.

It's occurred to me that it may be possible to include the audio tools required for converting the radio stations in future releases.

 

I spoke to RAPTOR over Christmas about hosting his ADF converter to save us from having to head over to GTAGaming for the download, and he was cool with the idea. Same thing would have to be asked if we were to bundle it with a release, but judging from his response I think he'd be up for that as well.

 

This still leaves the search for a freeware WAV -> MP3 converter that can be made distributable, so if anyone has any ideas on that score... smile.gif

For some reason I don't think the Staunton 2D fixes were included in the last unofficial installer, but they should be included in the upcoming official ones until a better solution presents itself. smile.gif

Nomad v4 released. Updates from v3 include

  • vehicle spawn triggers revised in v3b
  • weapons updated to reflect new official list
  • vehicles replacements updated to reflect new official list
  • island sniffing included
  • save points included
  • restart if wasted or busted included
  • packer added and 7 bikes
  • love helicopter moved to roof
  • police chopper added to staunton police helipad
  • warper included for both staunton police station and donald love's

Thanks go to CraigKostelecky for his assistance in this matter, Knux and James for compiling the official lists, and to everybody who offered support and encouragement. Sorry it took so long to release.

 

All vehicles were put back to the way there were in GTA3. The helis and Skimmer are still where they were. RCBarons/Dodos enabled for easy expansion. The Packer is now at Greasy Joe's. Additional heli added to the roof of the Staunton Police station. PCJ600s were placed at Supa Save, the AMCo gas station, the old school hall, at the stadium parking lot, in the projects parking lot (where Kingdom Come takes place), in front of the airport, and in back of one of the mansions in Cedar Grove for a pretty even distribution.

 

There are 2 warpers. One takes you to the roof of Donald Love's by entering his building. To get back down, you can walk into the corner. The other takes you to the Staunton Police helipad by approaching the doors there. To get back down, walk to the other corner of the block up top.

I am kind off confused. Can somebody give a link to the latest carpack installer? I now have a couple of GTA3 cars, but I now saw the old trashmaster...

Is there any paticular reason why all the bikes are pcj's?

 

It doesn't matter though as this will be easy to edit for personal use.

 

(I am more of a angel and freeway fan than I am a pcj fan)

 

I think the only bike that shouldn't be included is the pizzaboy.

The link is on the Official Mods page.

It contains all the GTAIII vehicles, complete with handing, colours and collision data. However, the collision data is wrong for the trash master, so you need to download the coll fix, and copy the vehicles.col over the vehicles.col in your models\coll folder.

Yeah, works great, I put it in the wrong place first time (I have two folders, data\ and data\main\ and they both contain MAIN.SCM and I put it in the wrong one!) blush.gif .
