Banshee is black also, use this line from GTA3:

 

banshee, 54,1, 14,1, 52,1, 61,1, 43,1, 51,1, 12,1, 11,1

 

 

My Yakuza Stinger is also black. What carcols line should I replace?

I assumed that some of the lines were left 0,0 for a reason, and I haven't changed my carcols.dat from the one in the Vehicle pack yet.

Alright Dem, no worries.... as mentioned it will be very easy to change should we do it the way JamesSHF has pointed out, after which I said

That way those of us that want a nightstick can change that line with ease 

 

I understand your stance on the exact port sorry about the unofficial suggestion. As far as extra weapons, I was more asking if the weapons were not acessed unless picked up, could they could be left in..

What I was getting at was not removeing things unnecessarily that could be left without consequence and accessed through cheats.

 

I'd be lying if I said that I did understand what I was asking though, and basically to clarify, how would the extra weapons such as minigun and mp5 etc be accessed without cheats such as the trainer if there were no pickups for them?

 

but, again... if it is done the way JamesSHF is suggesting, then I am already a happy camper as I can simply change those lines in the weapons.dat, so if you don't want to I guess there is no urgent reason to answer my question besides my own curiosity.

 

 

Yes, the HUD upgrade will definitly be in the next release smile.gif

the Banshee isn't used that's why, the Banshee is the Comet (spawn one using a trainer) , that's why, for the stinger, it's a mistake.

 

Craig put "0,0" to all models that aren't used.

 

yeah, the yakuza stinger is black too :\ damnit.....

 

3 cars now..... if anybody finds another one , please post....

My Yakuza Stinger is still fine. And the banshee is correctly colored as well. The only cars I'm having problems with are the Cruiser and the Perennial.

I tryed to get the stuntpark working but the land odie made doesnt work in vice or something becouse it doesnt show up in the editor and it crashes vice.

I just tried the same thing with almost 100% success. The only thing I did that was different from the original readme was to put the stunt-park folder in the "gta3maps" and use "gta3maps" in the "gta_vc.dat" instead of "maps" in the "gta3.dat" (duh).

As you can see, the windows are niether textured nor two-sided. I successfully downloaded the GTA3-LC Glass Fix.rar but the file turned out to be emty.

 

I have no idea why the lights aren't working in the park. The ones on the signs sure are:

In the following shot notice ODIE's object.dat is doing its job but when I climbed to the roof next to the smoking chimney, the game crashed. That was the only crash I experienced and the gameplay is great which is amazing since my computer is not so good.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean by "...with the hospitals and police stations...", but

I installed your main.scm and when I die or get busted I still spawn at the airport.

Ok, I thought everything was fine in the installer I put together last night, but the perrenials are black now confused.gif

 

Any ideas on fixing the black perenial?

Good job. Looks like it fits everything we would need. Replacing the out weapons with their same in weapons is a good idea. When I wrote Nomad v2, I took the liberty of replacing GTA3's weapons with VC's closest matches. I honestly don't remember if my list has been superceded or not blush.gif You can find it poorly defined here.

 

Does anybody know if we are limited in weapons slots? Could we simply make the slot number in weapons.dat additional slots and just scroll to them?

I would delete the last 2 posts, but it's not Blunted's fault that this went askew and I don't want to censor him if it isn't necessary.

 

I do know that the way VC and GTA3 consider hospitals and police stations are different. Whether or not I'll be able to reproduce GTA3's style of doing so is unknown, but obviously EXTREMELY important. I'll look into it on my days off. Suffice it to say that in my Timetwister mod, dieing or getting arrested spawn you at the scene of where you took the mission from. So I do have tons of experience in the matter, but for a different engine. It WILL be looked into.

 

I apologize that I do not have the time ATM to add the weapons and such. But I did go ahead and add having to hold Sprint and aim to spawn the Hunter and PCJ600. I took out the directional key check and delayed reaction check since the keypress combo is now more difficult to "accidentally" hit. You can grab it here.

You're right. There would be no way to get them. For that reason, I suggest we leave in the minigun. We'd still have to replace the mp5 with the ak-47 replacement as the FBI use them. Otherwise, the unused weapons we could leave alone. I'll go post that now whatsthat.gif

If so, you need to make sure you replace one of the street wannabes with it. Documenting which model is getting the skin and linking to the skin would be helpful.

That's what I thought, which would sort of mean good news for us.

 

As for contacting R* for making one, that would be a bad idea. Reason being that we would need to ask them to impliment quite a few things. And of course if they did and word got out, then the phones would be ringing off the hook with custom EXE requests. HOWEVER, I think modifying whatever needs modified to restore the game boundaries to those similar to GTA3 should be acquired by any means necessary. If it means consulting with R*, then so be it. That give me an idea... whatsthat.gif

I don't think rahkstar.gif is petty enough to need to take credit for a simple EXE modification for a mod of their own video game wink.gif

 

Or in short, who's to know if we dont specifically give credit to rahkstar.gif ?

They would probably prefer it that way for reasons you just mentioned.

I am sure that if rahkstar.gif was to get involved it would be very privately.

 

It is a long shot trying to get rahkstar.gif involved, but who better to protect their property than rahkstar.gif themselves.

And then we can atleast say that we offered them the oppurtunity to protect their work if they refuse.

I think, that you are upset because you asked everyone to leave the mission codeing for you and that you did not need "two cooks in the kitchen" as that could potentially ruin things and make your job harder?

The one thing that I did read loud and clear regardless though....

 

Demarest has everything under control in this department and does not need contributions to the MAIN.SCM unless discussed with him first.

If you've not grabbed the official GTA3 Cars transferred over by Knux, crazydude & CraigKostelecky they're now available right here. Great job guys. colgate.gif

 

[EDIT] Demarest's updated Nomad v3b is now also available for download. Spawning the PCJ600 & Hunter now requires the use of the key combination Sprint + Target.

Beautiful biggrin.gif That way we still have the added bonus of a minigun and other assorted weapons, but no way to use them without cheats so a normal game is not affected by it. smile.gif

I'm sure the nightstick will have to go considering the method of removal so far, but that can be put back by replaceing the weapons.dat line which is very easy biggrin.gif

why an installer? I did the install script and it is in the zip files (for cars in the gta3.img) confused.gif

 

and my yakuza stinger is black notify.gif some are, some aren't... must be in the carcols

The black car problem relies in the carcol.dat file itself don't know where but after using the original vice city carcol my cartel cruiser is green. Maybe this is cause by numerous cars being set to black. I am going to redo the carcols car by car afterschool to see if this solves the problem.

I'm sorry knux, I'm confusing matters and thats the last thing we need right now.

 

I meant my unofficial full LC installer. It had a working cartel, perrenial, stinger... etc

Not a single car was ever black.

So I tried mixing my cars with yours, leaveing out the cartel and perrenial, but no luck.

I replaced your carcol.dat with my carcol.dat, and although a bunch of cars changed colors.... the black ones remained black occasionally.

 

I am baffled confused.gif Carcols.dat doesnt seem to be helping me fix the cartel or the perrenial, although it worked for the stinger and banshee

Im really sorry X-bit but I still cannot understand what you mean.

The hospitals and police stations themselves were already there and are models pinned together by data files.... that has nothing to do with the main.scm

 

So I am assuming that you added something to the hospitals and police stations or something to do wit them.

 

Were you saying that you must have deleted a certain island, but in the other two you spawn at the police and hospital when killed or busted?

 

Sorry Im trying real hard to understand what you are saying but I'm just not catching it after trying your file confused.gif

 

 

Don't wory about the mission codeing, Demarest has everything under control and would prefer to do it himself I think.

Thats not to say your contribution is bad, he would just find it easier to work solo on this part.

 

You can contact him and ask him if you can help if you like but I am pretty sure he will say the same.

I just saw something, it only affect the first 3 colors in the carcols... I added 8 lines of the same color, I spawn the car, first 3 are black, other are of the good color (same for the perennial)....

 

so strange...
