It's possible to view an archive of this sub forum via the internet wayback machine. It might be possible to restore some topics using what's found here.

I tried a straight copy/paste here and it looked good at first. It kept all the tables and everything, but as soon as I posted it everything reverted to plain text and looked like hell. Might have to go through and re-do all the tables. I can't directly quote it because so far as I know it's not possible to login on an archived version of the site.

I'm sure it is possible, but it's beyond my ability. I asked Silent if he could figure it out from there and he admitted he could not. The Beta 3.2 files are available here.

I've been restoring threads by hand using the google archive, since the forum's search seem a bit broken atm. Which ones do you also need back?

You could also bring Unofficial Mods? I have some ideas for this TC that come from Xbox Versions of GTA III and Vice City.

Oh my, so that's what happens when my computer malfunctions for a few weeks - entire subforums get swallowed in the meantime. :panic:

And I was wondering already why I couldn't see staff forums anymore and had lost some buttons in my button bar...

 

Upside: No posts were lost (or were there?)

 

Downside: this mess can never be untangled (unless someone with access to the SQL database of the board, a SQL backup from a few weeks ago, and excellent understanding of the IP.Board database schema was to have a go at fixing it - and even such hypothetical individual would need quite some time to restore things.

 

Worst: ALL links in the LC topics that pointed to other posts in the LC subforum are now invalid, I think.

 

For posterity's sake - this "thread that started it all" (and now contains everything GTA:LC it seems) was once named "mods for GTA:LC" when initially created by Demarest.

 

Craig, do you maybe want to split at least this thread in two parts at Feb 06, 2004 (the date the subforum was originally established and the old all-in-one thread closed.), so the original original thread can be closed again? I can't do it anymore.

Then again, it would only shave off 35 pages off this thread, so maybe I'm just too sentimental.

 

EDIT: Oh, the subforum was previously called "GTA Liberty City" - now it's just an acronym with no explanation in the forum list. (Not to be fussy, I acknowledge and appreciate the fact that the subforum was recreated at all, just thought I'd mention it.)

 

EDIT2: This super-merge has made this topic one of the most viewed topics on GTAF ever!

Nice to see you again!

 

I'm not sure what the best solution is for this board. It seems it cannot just be reset to how it was. We may have to manually rebuild a few threads from one of the Internet archive sites. That's something I currently do not have the time (or desire) to do. Splitting that thread might be nice. I might give that a try.

polished off gta 3 and installed LC just to test it out

works perfectly fine, it's everything else that's broken. RIP DisableCulling=0

 

EDIT: tested it some more and there is one bug - it still shows even when you break the traffic light, looks strange because it kind of floats from the message box

I Got a question here.

but , first of all , forgive me from go straighly to the last page and didn't even read page 1.

 

here's the question : so , GTA LC Mod is for VC Right ? the problem is that i couldn't run VC that it always crashed everytime i tried , so this mod would also didn't work right ? ( im on windows 8 btw. )

 

EDIT : Got VC to work now , but i cant get past loading screen, on 80 % proress the game crashed.

The Unofficial Mods list must be somewhere in this thread then right? Does anyone have a link to the post?

And does anyone know where I can get Xbox textures, peds, cars, etc for GTA: LC, I wanna play this again.

And maybe the LCS PCJ and the LC Premier.

How do i make MVL load with this mod?

I have seen some people running it, but everytime i put it into my game, the game always crashes (Exception Handle aparently)

 

EDIT:Made it run, but it still crashes when a vehicle is added.

 

Do i have to disable one of the ASI files?

I have only had a little luck with MVL. I do not know if there's anything we'd need to do to fix the issues or if it needs to happen on their end.

Tried adding them, same error, game crashes as soon as a car is placed on the MVL folder.

Actually, the wheels.dff and TXD from VC screwed it up so bad im reinstalling it again.

This time i will do all of that tweaks first, then run the mod.

EDIT2: Someone said its something on the XMLs, i guess you guys can move on now :v

I added the DFA.MP3 into the other streams and then I added DFA.MP3 to the audio folder. Guess what - crash.

 

 

After a bit of tinkering, I fixed the crash issue, but the radio still doesn't appear. Wonder why.

You could always try using the MP3 Player. I don't think that editing the GTA-LCS.ini is the only modification. I think there must be some other edit to define the radio station. Speaking of which, I had once tried changing the GL horn by adding a new MP3 file. It seem to have worked fine back then.

Excuse the double post, but any idea how can I change it so the radio sometimes varies when you play the game? I mean, when you start it, MSX FM starts at the end of the mix, but I'd prefer it to start at the beginning. Any solution for that? :whuh:

Double posts are never frowned on in this particular sub-forum. As long as it's not within a few minutes of each other.

 

As far as the radio, I'm not sure. I know in the normal game, the scm tells the radio to start at the beginning of the Head Radio channel. I don't recall how (or if) it's set in debug mode.

 

When you tried to add your station before, were you attempting to add a new station or replace an existing one? You should be able to replace any of the 9 (?) stations with your own mp3 file. You'd just need to edit the gta-lc.ini file (preferably with the GUI)
