The battle is now over. Mom fought this cancer twice times. She beat it 17 years ago, and she put up one hell of a fight for the last two years. She showed me what true strength is all about. Never once did she put her needs or desires over those of the ones she loved.

 

Her last moment was to wait until almost everyone was away, then she gathered all of her strength, brought her hands up to her heart and looked at my brother and told all of us goodbye. She had as little pain as possible in the last three days of her life. And all of us kids will gather the strength she gave us and go on.

 

I will always remember what my mother was and I hope to someday meet someone that comes close to the standard she set. But I'm afraid she set the bar too high to reach. I was really spoiled growing up. My parents were married for 31 years, 6 months and 3 days. And there were only two fights that they had (and us kids never saw it). It was really like we were growing up in a '50s sitcom family.

 

I was very lucky to have her in my life. Her name was Donna Marie Kostelecky, but to me she was just Mom. And I'm grateful for every second I got to spend with her.

In GTAIII, it was possible to respray your FBI Kuruma, but now it's to 'hot' to handle, just like all other law-enforcement vehicles.

Craig, I am ashamed to say I've only just found out about this. I'm seriously sorry to hear this. But if you see this message any time in the next fews weeks get the hell back off the internet and take some more time to yourself or to be with your family, you more than deserve it mate. Real Life is far more important and you know we know and understand that.

 

You are seriously strong mate, I know you'll survive but it's ok to be upset etc and have time off. I don't know what a guy you've never met can say but as Ben said if you need to talk to someone out of it all I'll try be there.

I don't know if that's going to be able to be fixed . An EXE hack might do it, but I'm not entirely sure - it depends which car was replaced by the FBI Kurama.

 

Also, would that mean that some of the Enforcers are able to be resprayed (seeing as the Police Cheetah is replaced by an Enforcer)?

That's interesting... let's see:

FBI Rancher ---> FBI Car

Police ---> Police

Enforcer ---> Enforcer

I'm guessing the VEHICLES list is out of date? If not than the FBI Karuma replaces the Rancher.

The vehicles list has been tweaked a tiny bit, from what I can tell.

 

This is the change I was referring to:

 

Vicechee ---> Police (Mark's)

is now

Vicechee ---> Enforce2

but SWAT Van (Enforcer) ---> Enforcer as well.

 

And seeing as the Vicechee was resprayable in VC, some of the Enforcers may now be resprayable as well (although testing this would be very difficult I'd imagine).

 

Switching the list around wouldn't work either, as the vicechee carries swat guys. A simple dff and txd replacement could fix that, but controlling their behaviour is something else - they wouldn't behave like FBI agents. I'll check it out in-game and see how different the behaviour of each really is - perhaps swapping the list around might be a possibility after all. Although that would completely negate silver's FBI Cheetah mod (he could replace the FBI Rancher then (as that would be free), but it wouldn't be resprayable).

 

EDIT - No, wouldn't work as far as I can tell (the behaviour of the swat guys is noticeably different to that of the FBI guys). Perhaps an alternative would be to code it in through the scm to make the FBI guys spawn in the vicechee/enforce2. I'll leave that to our resident coding experts though .

I installed it the manual way, like was shown in the FAQ thread, but where can the "Show Config" be found, I've had no such luck finding it.

Ah, there should be a description for that in the FAQ as well, but here's how you do it:

 

In your main LC folder, right click and select New -> Shortcut.

Then, make the path point to C:\<your main LC folder>\gta-lc.exe -showconfig

If you want, you can then go into the properties of the shortcut and change the icon to the LC one (it's in the Icons folder - app.ico).

 

Then just double click on the Show Config utility to open it, click Advanced, go to the Audio tab, and Verify Paths. Restore any that aren't valid (but make sure that the path actually points to a file that exists - you need a full install of VC (including radio stations) on your hard-drive for LC to work). Keep restoring until you get the message "All Paths Valid", and then click Apply, and try LC again - hopefully it should work this time .

Ben and I made an executive decision and for the duration of Craigs absence we are taking over (he doesn't know this yet though, but we're ousting him so he doesn't need to worry). I will try to do as much coding as it is possible to do with a copy of VC that doesn't work (which isn't alot but I really wish my copy did work). Also all updates sent to either myself of Ben will be hosted on my server at:

Because Craig did such an awesome job at running this and we can no way live up to that Ben will be in charge of organisation and administration (so send updates to him) and I will be modding and technical advisor (only advisor due to my game status).

Seriously, this project has been an awesome distraction for me during a very tough time. I've been dealing with this cancer for two full years. And the hard part is now behind us. Come Thursday, I will try my best to move on with my life. I doubt that I'll jump right back into things then, but after this I'll probably dive back into my GTA world for a little while. Maybe I'll start with a nice vacation in Vice City or the great state of San Andreas. But I still fully intend to see the Liberty City project complete.

 

Although if you guys want to do something that will really help the mod, try getting these things done (or find someone to do them):

• Create the proper path so Sayonara Salvatore plays right (details are elsewhere on this forum)
• Contact Choofy about getting all of his fixes in order (I didn't save the last stuff he sent me though)
• Get ahold of CTM and see if he's still willing to update the launcher. If he is, then have him get started (make sure the new sound effects space added are sent to him as well)
• Fine tune the crane code and both missions that use it
• And see if any of our ped converters are still hanging around and poke them with sticks

If all of that is done, then we can finally get a full beta released and then move on to the final details of the mod. There's really not that much to do anymore. There's obviously more that needs to be fixed, but getting those details out of the way will really allow us to move on to the next step.

After the GTA:LC files were lost to the private projects they squandered on, I led the GTA:LC effort with Skidz's full blessing. killer.ip was a far superior leader than I was, but he refused the throne on multiple occassions. Craig however accepted the throne when I knew it was time to relinquish it and I knew he was capable. At that time, I provided all notes and such that I had that would make the coding aspect easier. Thanks to many things, including sheer time, Craig has been THE leaders of all the leaders. That and the fact that I set the precedent of relinquishing the throne by choice alone, that's how it will be done. I sincerely hope that the whole thing is a joke I'm not aware of. I find it hard to believe that either of you would choose that.
