Even if he can't read a word of English (and his native language isn't converted) all you have to do is follow the dots on the radar to know what to do.

I think I've got that bug fixed, Toreno. It was the result of switching the Hoods to the golfers (instead of the Vercetti gang). In doing that, I forgot to change the 8192 flags to 16384. The next code update will have that fixed.

I believe that it would have to be some timed loop which causes a lockup if it times out and the files not loaded. Since the col's are outside of the main file it's accessing (gta3.img) it causes the loop to fail hence the lockup's. Good detective work Craig way to go cause those lockups were annoying. All hail Craig for fixing this = P

Sorry for my post. Didn’t know where to write. I installed LC over Vice City a few days ago (version 3) but constantly have freezing of my system. Under Win-98SE I have to press RESET, and under Win-2000 I can escape by Ctrl-Alt-Del and finish the process. The freezings happen so often that I actually gave up playing. I don’t understand why it happens.

 

Here are some leading observations:

The game freezes only in moments of large collisions (for ex. when my car bumps into something at high speed, or I launched the rocket and it exploded near me). But not always.

 

Also in “Sayonaro Salvatore” when I’m waiting for the mafia boss near the bar and the time comes to the point when the boss must come out – freezing (exactly 1 minute before the deadline), in this mission system freezes 100% if I'm waiting near the bar and doesn't if I'm on another Island.

 

Pease make some suggestions what do I do wrong?

2) I can't seem to get spaceeinstein's audio packages to work. When I try to use audext.exe, it claims it had a problem and must quit. For reference, I'm running Windows XP SP2.

That last one is probably because you forgot to copy the new vcopode.asi file (or I forgot to update it in the package). That file should be 66.5 KB and dated 5/5/5.

 

And sorry about that Candy model. I accidently used the CSCandy model instead of the IGCandy one. I was kind of creeped out by that too.

Just copy the radio stations from your GTA3 CD into the gtalc-install-dir/audioLC/ directory, then use the "Show Config" app to edit the paths to the radio stations (they're #0-8 on the Audio tab, if I remember correctly).

A lot of people are having this problem, including me. Make sure that sfx.raw and sfx.sdt are both unchecked as read-only in the file properties window and try again.

Craig: thanks for your help the other day. Liberty City is up and running, with the new mission code installed so the col files don't stick out or whatever like you said, and the helicopter's flying, etc. It makes the game start the regular way instead of all those initials appearing on the radar right away, too, I noticed.

 

PS: I 1st thought of using the Help topic but something I read made me think to try the Bugs section for the request, which is what I intended. I don't know how it ended up with it's own topic--I must have pressed the wrong button. Right after I pressed the button to place the post, I noticed I didn't see it in the Bugs section I was in (?).
