I don't know. I didn't try using it as a regular vehicle. I just wanted to be able to spawn the full winged dodo by using the create_Car commenad.

Craig How did it fly? Did it behave like a heli or a plane? Another solution could always be a model using the spathx.dat files again smile.gif.

I also used Excel to move those files. It was quite handy.

 

@Pat: I know that's the way the coordinates go for the garages. One thing I did do was go through and check all of the front coordinates in game. In the process of doing that I may have overwritten some data. Or maybe I just had a brain-fart while doing part of that. Anyway, here is my preshift scm. I also included the beta 1 source as I know those garage defs worked (for -350). I'll most likely take another crack at this one today sometime. Maybe I'll just convert from the original GTA3 source and add the fronts that I found. But it never hurts having two guys looking at the same thing.

 

EDIT: @Outback: I tried changing the flight.dat up by 12 units like you said earlier. And it seemed to work for a while, but when the plane turned, it angled itself like it was turning in the air (causing the wing to dig into the ground). So we should probably keep that file at +6Z and adjust the model accordingly.

It flew just like the wingless dodo before it. But the handling isn't used as the code pushes it along it's path. If we were to change that code so it uses the path file (GTA3 used flight4.dat) it would clean up the scm a lot. But the plane should be destroyable (which I'm not sure if it is by using the wanderer code)

It's hard to tell. A lot of different people have very different schedules. If we we're all doing this full time and it was our job, we'd have it ready months ago. But this is a free-time project. So guessing release dates is next to impossible. Be patient.

I had that problem too. You gotta trim off some of the decimal points so there's no more than 6 digits per coord. Unfortunately, then the model sinks right back into the ground.

Problem.

 

 

I download the Model. I extract it and I open up my IMG tool to replace my player.dff...... but..... It says File Access denied. dontgetit.gif

I was thinking, mabybe you could get the dodo from gta san andreas and use that. Would that be possible?

One thing i have noticed is that the deaddodo model causes the game to crash if you replace the rc baron with it.(Note:, not the actual vehicle)

Never Mind. It worked. But, whenever I load my game and try to change my player, my game locks up. confused.gif

Also, Y_Less has made a similar offer to the one that GT-1 made earlier. So we still have some options for a website. Hell I could host it too if I wanted to. So if some other team members really want a website, we can still do it.

I've got a few gbs of bandwidth spare kicking around on gtaconnection.net if anyone needs a host, that's not a problem.

Well I guess the next question is if the guys from mods4us would be kind enough to let us use the code/template that GT-1 already made up, if he still has a backup.
