What else has to be changed in the game for that to work? Does the exe look in the gta3maps folder? Or is it another file that tells it to look there? And what's the advantage of changing that?

the gta_vc.dat tells the game where the maps are and there are no advantages realy apart from the fact that it makes map mod a bit easyer to install.

Sure it can be done. You could add a line to the car spawn code (in the main.scm) to set the color to whatever you want.

I'm a little disappointed myself, it's always seemed like MTA intended on using GTA:LC for their Blue client, but they've always seemed very reluctant to part with information or help here on GTAForums where all the GTA:LC work goes in. Seems like a very one sided thing, sure GTA:LC is available to everyone and it's public 'an all, but MTA could have shown a little more support if they plan on using this in Blue officially.

GTA:LC is still in a currently unsupportable form ("we would have to disable our own cheat protection" dontgetit.gif ), and the team as a whole hasn't seemed too eager to pick up new projects anyway.

It's because of MTA Blue that they've decided to just blow us off completely. They found a way to let people add their own mods, so they don't have to do it themselves.

I would say liberty city. Because I got mods for gta3 that add interiors (for the origonal game) and there is a serious problem with the camera angle---- bad.

TO DO LIST:

 

-Equip the Army with M-16s

-Fix engine/horn sounds to what they were in GTA3

-Damage from falls accurate to GTA3 (if possible)

-code missions at a steady pace, and fix bugs in game

 

That's all I can think of for now...

hello. can someone give me the link to the newest (most recent upgraded, newest version, etc.) GTA: LC MOD? thanx. And just one question. Do i have to buy GTA3 (which i already did), download the MOD, and buy GTA: Vice City to make this mod work? thanks.

Vice City is absolutely required. GTA3 is recommened for the audio files. And the most recent public version is the beta 1 files. But we're within a few weeks of releasing the beta 2 files.

Looks great Outback. In fact it's going to be in the official release in the 'A Drop in the Ocean' mission. I replaced the RC Goblin to get it in that mission. But there is one issue. There's no LOD model for that plane. So when it's a few hundred meters away it completely disappears. If you could add a LOD, that mission would look and play perfectly.

Major update. I think everything is moved. I'm just about to test everything. I'll probably take tomorrow to get caught up on the peds that I've missed lately. That means that I should ahve a private release by the end of the weekend.

 

Here's exactly what's been changed. Let me know if I missed anything:

  • all of the ipl files in the gta3maps folder
  • main.scm
  • paths.ipl
  • the flight and spath files
  • info.zon
  • map.zon
  • navig.zon
  • water.dat
  • waterpro.dat
  • cull.ipl
  • pause screen map
  • and the radar

Big thanks to Hammer83 and [4D]Outback with helping me move all of the files.

It has a chassis_hi and chassis_vlo...so it needs a chassis_lo as well?

 

And does the Goblin slot still have the same issues as the baron slot?

I didn't move the spath files since they don't even appear to be used.

 

Has the Z-axis issue been fixed with the flight paths? If not, I'll just adjust the model.

@Craig:

 

I've been reviewing your "move" work on the main.scm.

Your changes to the garages doesn't seem to be correct, as you expected ( since they don't work properly ).

 

The floating-point parameters to the create_garage opcode are:

X Y Z X Y Z X Y

 

If you convert them according to this scheme, it should be Ok.

 

I also found some other places that where not converted properly, but I'll send those in a list when I've worked through the whole file.

 

BTW: could you send me the last "pre-move" version of the main.scm, since the one I have is older, and that makes it hard to check every detail.

spath0 isn't a problem, but spath1's 571 lines is a little more than I'd want to do by hand. If you could throw me a tool, they'd be done in no time.

 

Which I'm an idiot for not asking for in the first place since once I get one I'll go back and redo what I've already done

That movie could have more stuff, like crouching while firing, driving the Packer which shouldn't be in the game, Skimmer, etc.

Also shouldn't be too hard to do the panning around the whole shot like they do in the original too.
