The only files that are currently converted are the ipl, the waterpro, the cull, and most of the main.scm.

I dont think you need it. I dont have it and it runs perfectly.Try copying the audio files from gta3 into the audiolc folder.it worked for me.Is there a trainer for gta:lc?

I thin so.Thats hat made mine work.But you dont need the radios from gta3,just the other 200 megabytes worth of audio files.

Could someone make like a vice city island for gta lc ?

Are the pickups like the bribes gonna be smaller in the 2nd beta?In gta3 the pickups were half the size of what they are in vice city. bored.gifsad.gifconfused.gifsuicidal.gifdie2.gif Sorry that it is probably off topic.But I dont know where else to put it. Edited by newbie3951

Well, hehe, when I just joined LC, I had next to no knowledge how things work. I would have never imagined that launcher would have turned out to be like that. Originally it was just modifying the executable with custom user folder! Then I started poking around with other things, code, maps, real memory hacking. By the time I got it all figured out, all paths were already converted.

 

By the way, how did you assign the last 3 parameters in the path nodes? Since they don't exist in GTA3, for now the converter just assigns defaults 0, 0, 1. Do you know what these values denote? According to the pinned topic in Maps forum, these values are still mostly unknown.

 

PatrickW, what's sdatax.dat? Where is this file located and what does it do?

I'm guessing the sdatax are the files in the paths directory (train, subway, airplanes). Those have not been converted but they should be quick and easy to do.

 

Oh by the way. I just finished the scm. That's right all 66,000 lines of the code are updated for the new city location. It needs to be fully tested though. I played the first 2 Love missions and they lined up fine. I have noticed one problem though. None of the garages seem to work. The coordinates look right so I don't think that's the problem. Some help here from our coding experts would be appreciated.

 

Here is an upload of my moved files. Included in this package is my gta3maps folder (including an updated cull), the main.scm and scm.txt (I also included the original GTA3 code to check for mistakes). I've also included the original particle (so wakes work again) and the original 747 models. And finally, the new launcher files are included.

 

These files still need updating: paths, radar, navig.zon, and the dat files in the DATA\paths folder. There may be a few more things to move, but not much. Once these get moved, I'll upload another test beta. Then we can put the finishing touches on this thing and let the world see it. rah.gif

You absolutely need to have a purchased copy of Vice City for this mod to work. A copy of GTA3 is also recommended (and it's necessary to get all of the audio). And all this mod does is convert GTA3 to Vice City's engine. Meaning you can play GTA3 with helicopters and motorcycles. We are not attempting to put the Vice City map into this game.

 

This forum is designed so a thread exists for almost any kind of topic. So please don't start new threads like this. If you're not sure where to post, you can always use GENERAL GTA:LC CHAT. Usually we lock topics like this, but I'm going to leave it here long enough for you to see it. Then I'll merge it with the GENERAL GTA:LC CHAT thread.

Actually, it's more like a Skimmer with wheels, working doors, and non-working flaps.

 

PS. If you want some color variety, feel free to copy the skimmer's carcol line to the rcbaron.

 

I also seem to get better handling by changing the column ae flags to 8040004

The CJ .dff on SA is the same as the normal dffs, they didnt optimise it.

It still needed to be processed through blender so it has Tommy's skeleton rather than CJ. CJ is built up of many different dff files. (As per clothin)

I'm still not sure who that dude in the brown coat is. It may just be a mafia guy like spaceeinstein said. But he's shown a lot in the GTA3 advertising, and he doesn't look like any character in the game.
