My subway problems were fixed with the spath file (including the exit game crash).

 

Also, is it possible to have the view emulate the cinematic camera used in GTA3 instead of the first person view? If it is possible, is it easily codable?

I tried just renaming the mafia guys and running the game. But I'm having an issue compiling the scm with the new names. It keeps telling me that the name does not exist in the default. I'm not sure how to get MB 0.22 to look into the new default file.

i think you can do this by running the vcsettings.exe and the create files.exe

 

the create files .exe also will update all your findopcodes.txt, findopcodes2.txt

opcodes.txt from the ini file to update your descriptive text used when using the F1 opcode hunting ... again i think you will probably have t ask barton to be sure...

For the train you'll need the spath1.dat file that contains the subway path.

I'll look into the bike thing. I hadn't tested that yet, I had to build in things to prevent the player from entering the train without pushing the "enter vehicle" button. That piece of code is probably causing the effect. I'll try to reproduce, otherwise I'll get back to you for more info.

 

The crash at the end hasn't occured to me (yet). Ill have to inspect the code once again to see if i'm not missing any "player defined" check, or some other stuff. Any Ideas are welcome..

It could also be related to the missing spath1.dat file

@graig: At the moment I'm unable to change the 1st person view, it comes with the "put player in turret of object" opcode I'm using. Fixating the player by other means would take much more coding. I'm not fully sure what you mean by

"cinematic camera", is it like the camera mode in vice city, where the camera is stationary for a while, while panning to keep the player centered in the picture?

Don't double-post please, but thanx for the comment, and yes, the L-track train got two carriages in a row if that's what you mean.

The cinematic camera is used in both GTA3 and Vice City when you're in a car. Just keep changing the view until you get to the one that changes every few seconds. If the view isn't easily changable though, I don't mind it the way it is. It's certainly better than nothing.

The cinematic view in a train in GTA3 is predictable. The camera stays the same place. So it will take a whole lot of coding to do that.

The subway train appears in the middle of the tracks and disappears under the ground at the airport stop.

If that's as good as the targeting will look, then I think we should restore the VC one. I prefer something that looks good as opposed to something that's almost GTA3 authentic. The same thing goes for the phone booths right now. I think people are only going to know the difference if they know GTA3 inside and out. But if they're left as is, then everybody will notice them.

 

I don't want it to sound like I don't appreciate the work you do, because I think the world of what you've done, especially lately. But there's a point where apperance is more important than authenticity. So unless these two issues can be improved, I think they should go back to the way they were, at least for the beta2 release.

 

Again, please don't take this the wrong way. As you've been amazing with your updates and bug reports.

Got some bad news: My computer that had the WIP LCPeds V2, is not working. Until then, I have the outdated computer, which can only run GTA3 atm. But when this computer is upgraded, when it comes to that time, I should be able to rejoin the LC team. I will be parting the team for a bit until my parents at least get an up-to-date computer that matches VC's Recommended Hardware Requirements.

The subway riding off-track in a known issue, there will be a seperate subway model that has this corrected. AS for the train dissapearing at the airport stop, could you describe what happened in more detail ?

 

I'll see what I can do with the cinematic view. If I can get something to work, I'll et back to you guys for the exact coordinates the camera is at in GTA 3.....

The pink font that looks so great in Vice City looks a little out of place in Liberty City. I changed the font color and smoothed out the font a bit.

It only happens when you hit the train with a car so don't matter much

I've noticed that happen when either a car, motorcycle, or just Fido hits the train, the train will sometimes disappear. Would it be a good option to recreate the train if it kills the player?

Ok I see... I'll look into it there maybe some obvious bug. Otherwise I'll build in some check to see if the train is still doing what it should do ( won't be that obvious). recreating the train when it kills fido, solves only half the problem, as it also happens when you hit the train with a car, I'm assuming here that you weren't killed.

 

Ad_tec, it does matter. if it happens the train will never re-appear, so I'll have to find someway to fix it. And tanks for the cookie.gif , take a breadfish_by_Moto.gif for your testing effort.

I am afraid I can't contribute for my school is dicking around with my laptop. I'll have to wait for this to be resolved in which it may take weeks. If anyone wants to move the train for it to work with the stations import each model into zmod and select all and move to the direction you want it to be closer to (left or right only) then export each objects seperatley. (delete unneeded models and export, undo delete and delete the other models and export etc) this will set the train up. this is what needs to be done with the subway too. Sorry it is just that my school is unorganized and gave me my original laptop back without a working fan and they say no this is just a loner. I know its my original. They are fixing my real loner wtf?

That's quite okay Mark. Things are going to slow down here anyway for at least a little while as everybody (besides Pat and Hammer tounge2.gif ) will be playing SA. Sorry guys, I don't mean to rub it in or anything. I know I couldn't wait for the PC version. Even if I didn't have a PS2, I'd go out and buy one just for this game. I'll figure out how to pay for rent later.

We are, what makes you think we aren't?

 

If those last few posts made you think that these aren't official then you are wrong. In that last pic the texture is found in GTA3, only VC duplicates it and makes it rotate.

Sorry if these questions have already been asked but i would i like to now if vcmm would work with this and would script mods like replacing the main.scm file with a modified main.scm file. And can you use manual install mods for vicecity with liberty city. Also, im still not sure whether you can do missions or not. The answer to the question similar to this was that the missions will be added in the future so does this mean the missions are not there risht now. And i couldn't find any mission scripts for LC in the mission coding section. Please answer my questions someone.
