You can replace any ped you want, but in the next LC release all this will be taken care of.

Ok i tested out Bman_1 and 2.

Bman_1 is fine everything looks great.

But the texture of Bman_2 is not showing up ingame sad.gif

Download it now, I fixed the problem. The texture in the TXD was named incorrectly.

I think I'm going to put off renaming the default.ide (and other data files) until after the beta is released. Instead, I'm renaming the peds based on Hammer's list (quoted by Kingpin of LSPD on page 10). Also, there are four peds that are in the code but not converted so far. They are:

  • male02
  • female02
  • li_man1
  • fan_man2
Also, these characters are not in the default, but they need converting as well for the beta release:
  • Donky
  • Bomber (already converted, but texture has bugs, plus Mark lost his WIP files)
  • Misty and 8-Ball need converting, but they're not part of the beta, so there's not a big rush with those.
I'm still getting the scarecrow Mafia guys with the new download. I'll have a report on the new B_man2 soon.

 

EDIT: B_man2 (Marty) looks good in the mini-cutscene during "Her Lover." You can declare that one final.

Reviews on peds so far:

 

So far, there is one problem with the Pimp. The back of the jacket on the Pimp has a black part that wasn't in GTA3. B_man1 has excellent animation (no bugs at all), and was the SWAT man fixed? The FBI doesn't seem too glitched in my observations. The Cop works better now.

 

Not bad work there at all. Keep up the good work converting the peds! wink.gif

The bomber is recoverable from the download it was wip so as soon as I get my laptop working 100% again (I get blue hell screens saying graphical error, I had to disable all 3d acceleration) I'll try to accurately add bone weight and fix the texture problem.

Are you sure? I included the correct model this time, I even checked again just now and it appears to be the correct model. Try downloading it again, I deleted the zip then re-uploaded it instead of overwriting the file.

 

 

The back of the jacket on the Pimp has a black part that wasn't in GTA3.

Thats due to the joining of vertices. It causes UV mapping co-ordinates to change.

 

 

I tried the pimp today and it looks good apart from one thing:

I had added my own faces to that model so his shoulders wouldn't be squared. That has happened because of low-poly I used for those parts of his body.

I sure hope you get your laptop up and running again. What would life be without GTA smile.gif

 

On the bright side, I finished cleaning up the code, and intergrating the subway.

A large portion of the code is now used by both the train and the subway thread.

It's not fully optimised yet concerning the use of globals instead of locals, and maybe some more shared code between the two threads are possible. But I first want to get this tested with the good models, before the finishing touch.

Therefor no 0.22 version yet ( sorry graig).

Well I am going to have to get a copy of GTA-LC's latest gamma or whatever it is called before I rework the models again. This will be good as it will leave me something to do on Monday the day before san An release.

I'm not seeing the subway at all. Is there something I'm supposed to add to the image or data files to get it working, or is it using the same models as the existing train? Right now the second marker (which should point to the subway) just stays right below the parking lot by the Staunton hospital, away from the subway tracks). Also, I was able to make the L-train disappear off of the map by driving a motorcycle into it. And finally, when I exit the game, I get a crash. I can provide more detail on any of these bugs if you need me to.

That's due to the bone weight, you'll need to adjust it so that it doesn't make the body parts move so strongly.

Ahh, file downloaded. And it looks great now.

 

As far as renaming, right now I'm just using these names on a temporary basis until the default is finished. What all has to be done to rename the peds? Is it just the default and pedgrp that need changing? And is it as simple as renaming all of those names. If that's all that's involved, I can change it myself.

 

The files in the image would need renaming as well obviously.

For the train you'll need the spath1.dat file that contains the subway path.

I'll look into the bike thing. I hadn't tested that yet, I had to build in things to prevent the player from entering the train without pushing the "enter vehicle" button. That piece of code is probably causing the effect. I'll try to reproduce, otherwise I'll get back to you for more info.

 

The crash at the end hasn't occured to me (yet). Ill have to inspect the code once again to see if i'm not missing any "player defined" check, or some other stuff. Any Ideas are welcome..

It could also be related to the missing spath1.dat file
