Two questions here: How are we going to get the GTA3 car alarms back? And how do you prevent the .exe from pointing the music tracks onto the PC, and play it onto the Audio subfolder, and avoid listening to VC's radio station?

id like 2 help out on this. what peds should i do cause i dont wanna do the same ones someone else is already doing

Well from the list on the first page start from Special101 downwards.

 

I have rigged the pimp, I'll release it along with Misty and a new Cop that I am gonna start in a little while.

Well this has been pointed out several times. Use the no-CD crack!

I can't think of any good tools to rig some of the peds, but I don't want to do too many of them, so people won't get too mad because they didn't get a chance to. Let me see what I can do with Female01 (BFORI), Male02 (WMOBU) and Li_wom2 (WFYBU), as these probably won't be too hard to do.

Hammer (our exe expert) does not think it's possible to modify the exe to make the GTA3 radio stations playable with the CD in the drive. So the only solution is the no-cd crack.

 

What's wrong with the car alarms?

Which tools should I use to rig some of the peds? Use Blender to rig peds, all the info is in my tutorial.

 

Here is the updated peds, the Cop is ALOT better than the previously rigged one.

The cop looks great! I temporarily renamed the pimp to wmypi so it'll show up in game (but I haven't seen it yet). And I'm having issues trying to get Misty to show up in game. For whatever reason, it's not loading the model. But great work James.

 

EDIT: Saw the pimp, he looks great as well. He looked so realistic that he almost talked me into trying out one of Luigi's girls. And for a brief second I considered it. Then I realized how crazy (or lonely) I was and I came to.

 

That may be a slight exaggeration.

I'm glad you like them Craig, the pimp is probably the best out of those updates. About Misty, the model loads ok here but she needs to be re-rigged as I used Tommy's bone patch which results in Misty having long arms.

 

Next is the tweaking of the Mafia(crack in the leg), then the Medic and Male01 which were started but were not finished.

You're going to have to be more specific than that. How are you adding the missions? What updates have you installed? The more information you provide, the better chance I have of helping you. With the way this mod is right now, it's very difficult to help people because there are so many possible setups out there.

Got down the ped using internet explorer insted of Aol witch peds does the pimp and misty replace in the default.ide.

Sorry confused.gif, I copied my Vice City folder that only got updated to 1.1 and cracked then i installed GTA:LC. AFter that i copied the AudioLC to the audio folder or whatever then i copied all the files from codeupdate to where they need to be and i always get an unhandled exception

I tweaked the Mafia, after about 20 attempts I finally got the cracks away. I think they are final material but I'd like to know what you all think:

In the GTAIII data\paths folder, did you try copying the CHASE#.dat files and putting it into the GTALC folder? I don't know if it works, but it should. It says in Barton Waterduck's ViceBuilder that opcode 0354 is:

 

 

0354: set_up_chase_scene 1!  \\ never used in VC
Then 0355 is clean up chase scene. If it doesn't work after putting those chase codes in, I don't know what to do...

Well I just got my laptop back from the school. Its funny they think I wouldn't know they'd make a switch with a newer laptop with the same specs. (My fans blew) I am happy they did so though because I now have working fans and my LCD screen is no longer missing a pixel (my previous had a pink dot all the time). I have to get it re-insurred since technically it is not the same laptop as the one in my insurance policy. The only drawback now is that I have to re-download GTA-LC. Aswell as re-install Vice City so I can have LC. Sadly I lost My 8-ball in the process too all with all my wips. However I should be able to get back to LC now helping out in this topic aswell as the train topic again. Even with San An I will try to see this mod all the way through. I'll be getting both the ps2 version and the PC version.

Well as in the ped topic I explained some stuff.

I want to get back to work on this so I am going to try and pinpoint the model issues with the train as soon as I install LC again.

just read the ped-topic post, great to have you back, and I'm glad to hear that you will see this mod through smile.gif

 

I think for the train models there're two major issues left:

• Ltrack train is not close enough to all stations. The player falls in between. The train should either be slightly repositioned, or you should add a small horizontal (invisible) plane to the col-file at the foot of each door.

• Position of train of the subway track is way off. We either need a seperate model for the subway, with a shifted origin, or we should re-map the path-file. Either way is fine with me, but I guess the best result would be obtained by remodeling a subway train. Than we can at least use the converted GTA3 paths..

 

I'll be working to get the sources in a presentable state, it's a mess a the moment with lots of temp variables and the structure is not what it could be.

Then a little more research in how I can reuse the most code from the train for the subway.

I know graig is waiting for the code, I'll therefor won't include the fancy on/off switching of the train depending on the player pos, as that brings on some new issues. We'll deal with them later smile.gifsmile.gif

Ok I will reposition the train for the stations and then make another repositioning for the the subway. I want to try and incorporate the lights but haven't really found away yet. Also would be nice if I can get an lod working so the windows do not go black. I am not sure if this is occuring with other people or just me. I may have removed the windows for the release package.

Both the 0354 and 0355 opcodes were removed from the engine in Vice City. The data file will not help that problem.

 

Also, these cutscene opcodes were also removed from the exe:

 

02F4   create_cutscene_actor_from_head_and_body    02F5   set_head_anim

James, did you test the Mafia guys in game? Because I renamed them to CBa and CBb and one of the two models showed up like this:

Those guys never animate, they just hop around in that position like some bad Terry Gilliam cartoon. Are you having this problem as well?

For now it's still coded in 1.3 , as I had already made a lot of changes in my copy when you translated "gamma" version to 0.22.

 

Currently I don't have 0.22 on my system, but I will install it and translate it for ya. You're busy enough at the moment I presume smile.gif

In 1 day my computer took a turn for the worse. I had an random HD crash on my new laptop and then while restoring my system another random HD crash. It completely got rid of essential files required for windows. They are now re-imaging my drive at school but I fear the drive will be unstable. I hope this will not impact too much. I can't believe the problems I am having but the laptop is the only cpu I have that will run renderware GTA games. sad.gif The tried recovering with the windows cd but it kept booting back and asking for the cd again. I think this may be because the windows cd itself is a backup cd.
