Yeah, saw that. The problem was, that I wasn`t sure if the missing GXT entry was a bug so I decided to post this anyway. And I couldn`t compile your TXT-file because of more than 6 'AND-if' conditions that were used once somewhere. So I thought mayby different tools were used and it would be better to decompile that the re-compiling can be done with the same tool.

I just commented one of conditions out and could compile and test.

Whacko, the number-of-'if''s issue can simply be resolved in V1.3 by unchecking the "if checking" flag under the compiler menu.

And the marker above the train, is a thing I use myself also while testing. Especially for the subway is hard to find without it smile.gif

 

to all:

I'll probably be working on the main.scm again at the end of the week, fixating the player to the train, and trying to include the subway...

Oki, in the view of having my neighbours party right next to my bedroom I post it before I try to find a rocket launcher somewhere in town... devil.gif

 

Mostly everytime I try to enter the train the game crashed, normally at opcode 0001 in label 'ilandid' or label 'hj'. Two times it didn´t crash but once the whole train`s z-level lowered untill it was under the rails and not longer visible from my point and the train didn´t show up untill I started a new game. The scond time it didn`t crash only one of the 3 waggons lost it`s z-position and 'sunk'. The first 2 drive out of the station, then it crashed.

 

I think I got the way the train is coded but couldn`t find anything conspicuous yet.

When you get crashes at opcode 0001: it's most likely not code related. The opcode displayed in the debugger is the last one to be read before the crash. And if it's a simple wait opcode, then the problem probably lies in the train itself. When you get crashes at opcodes like that (where it appears to not be related to what you're doing) make a note of the hex address where the crash is.

 

Also on the topic of the train, neither me or Hammer see the doors on the anymore.

Here the information I can provide:

Screenshot 1 shows the third waggon only - the first 2 'sunk'... if not both at least waggon 2(note: the whole train stopped before this shot was taken, it`s not the arrival!)

As I tried to enter waggon 3 the game crashed.

Screenshot 2 is the error handler.

uhh...maybe you can work this one out. I have trouble starting the game. The icons in the directory rarely work same thing with the desktop shortcut and the start menu. Occasionally it'll come up with the ShowConfig=1 thing and it'll work when I click launch but otherwise it says that the program had to close and tells me to send the error report thing. Any explanations?

What files have you downloaded? Do you just have beta1, or have you installed some of the updates since then? The more information you provide, the better chance we have of helping you.

I have a clean copy of vice city which requires the cd and i have GTA:LC Beta1 installed along with the Launcher Update, Hammer83.

There apprear to be some issues with certain versions of the launcher for some people. The easiest solution I can offer you is to download our work-in-progress beta2 files. It's a 61.4 MB download, so you may only want to do it if you're on broadband. Everybody who's tested these files so far have been able to get them to run. If you want to download it, send a PM my way and I'll give you the link.

Pardon for the double post, but there seems to be conflicts with some of them:

 

HFOTR should be shopper2 (old), because when we replace their wave files in Audio, we need to use it, because in 3, li_wom1 and shopper2 had the same audio. WFOTR should be the female tramp.

 

How about replacing HFYRI with cas_wom, and WFYBE with female2? I say this because WFYLG and WFORI has no audio after you point your gun at them (besides before running away), and WFYLG is mute in the car.

 

I'm talking about this if you're using Hammer's pedgrp.dat file, because some don't work out too well IMO.

 

Just giving out some suggestions.

I appreciate your efforts, but that code doesn't make any sense,

what are you trying to achieve with it.

 

I advice you to read the pinned tutorial topic in the mission coding discussion forum.

SCM modding is real fun when you get the hang of it.

 

The basic solution for keeping fido on the train is already known, and is just a matter of coding it all out, and see for unforseen difficulties arise...

What's up guys

sorry i have been out of it, just having too many problems since my car wreck ..... just wondering if the newest updates were compiled into one .rar anywhere out there with the latest files plus launcher settings.... i lost a 40 gig (samsung sux) hard drive last month and all my gta modding stuff went with it... including my LC playing folder my GTA 3 folder my tribes 2 folder ... and any other game i might have been modding at the time........ Here still working out the details so don't mind the mess of old site stuff mixed with new ...

It doesn't add Vice City... It adds Liberty City only...

Ok I have Looked EVERYWHERE for help with the sound and I did everything people have said to other people with the same problem. It still doesn't work I have the folders in this order (under folders button at the top) anim, audio, audioLC, data, gfx, icons, models, movies, mp3, mss, readme, skins, text and txd. hopefully someone can help me or give me a link to another page with the solution. Thanks in advance.

You should have all of those files in the audioLC folder and the pager.wav in the audio folder. If you have all of those, there's no reason why sound shouldn't work on your computer.

 

Does sound play find in an unmodified Vice City?
