I think I may have got the col issue sorted out I made a quick test col that works with my centered train. After work tonight and this weekend I will create a more accurate col. The one I have now also does not freeze with helicopters.

If you want to test the code, simply change any one of the existing mission triggers to start the mission you want. For example, find the sniffer for Turismo (mission 40) and simply change the line that says start mission 40? to whatever mission you used for Mike Lip's Last Lunch. Then when you go to answer el Burro's phone, you should start the Joey mission.

I can't compile the main.scm this is what it says

IF checking recommended values 0 to 6, 21 to 26.

even if i haven't added a mission.

I also need a coord mod to park cars in LC.

This really isn't the place to ask basic coding questions. You should read all of the tutorials in the mission coding forum first.

 

You're getting that error because Builder 1.3 only allows 7 conditions per if check. There are a couple instances of 8 checks in our code (which is written in 0.22).

 

And if you used the older builder, you would be able to use our source code which has real variable names (instead of a lot of 12976?? variables). And if you had that code, you'd also see that this section of code is already included:

All you would have to do is add this line towards the beginning of the code to activate it:

 

004F: create_thread ££LabelMikeLipsLastLunchMonitor

 

But if you insist on using 1.3, finding that section of code will be more difficult as the variable names aren't there. Plus, you'd have to rewrite sections of the code to get it to work properly.

 

Again, this forum is for discussing the Liberty City code. It's not for helping new coders to learn the basics.

Hire someone who could model. The Predator has a black curtain and the staircase of the AmCo basement is 2Ded.

Portland L-Train package for those who wanted one is now available here.

 

Whats included:

....\models\coll\generic.col [collision files for train]

....\data\paths\spath0.dat [The train path file converted from GTAIII]

....\data\gta3maps\generic.ide [train objects added to file]

....\data\objects.dat [train properties added to file]

....\data\main.scm [enables train in game via script]

train.dff [chassis of the train]

train_dr.dff [rightmost doors]

train_dl.dff [leftmost doors]

train.txd [texture library for all 3 of the above dff files]

L-Train Read Me.txt

 

The colision file is good except player still slides and may end up stuck in the train. what we need is a code sniplet to make the player frozen to a spot in the train (like gtaIII)

 

Train Appears to be centered on the tracks. Sorry for the lateness.

 

Subway package will be basically the same except the names wil be strain....

Sorry to bump this, but I have a serious question. I hope this goes here.

 

How do I go about changing the window title from GTA: Liberty City back to GTA: Vice City? I want to run tools such as the CamHack and trainers, but they don't work with Lib.City with that name.

Open up gta-lc.ini with notepad. The first few lines look like this:

[Exe]Path=.\gta-vc.exeVersion=10ChangeTaskBar=1

And change the last line to

ChangeTaskBar=0

all the Initial D cars and thier settings for GTA3.

Hello there,

the City Loader is a great idea an as it is not finished yet I´d like to add a suggestion here - I read the whole thread and I hope I didn`t overread something.

 

What about having 3 "Spots" to travel?

The one for the flight has been talked about a lot and I was thinking of another for road travels by enterting a bus or a sphere near a special bus station.

Same in the docks (ok, not totally the same... ship instead of bus wink.gif).

Guess you know what I mean - my english isn`t the best, escpecially when I just got up. smile.gif

 

I can offer help (manpower) in the SCM Part if needed, TwoZero.

The reason youve not seen much progress is A) Because were working on something else. B) Were going to employ a slightly different method, that should allow for as many "spots" as you want.

 

The plan is to use a little less of the SCM, and use it mainly just for the cutscenes.

 

Weve not given up, but the other project were working on will help the CL project a bit too.

Oh, I unterstood it more that exactly that won´t be possible. I mean to make it fully customizeable for scripters.

Btw. I´m still offering working on it - I´m relatively new to GTA-Modding but mostly worked on cutscenes (or widescreen scenes, however) and missions last time.

The launcher renames GTA: Vice City window to GTA: Liberty City. So almost all trainers made does not work with this game.

I'm having issues with your files Mark. When I play with all of these files added to the image/data folders, I get a crash at address 0040c314 (which loads models) before I ever see the train. And if I use the old train files (the pack that had the TRAIN_DL.txd and TRAIN_DR.txd files) then it will work for me.

 

I tried this with the door texture files removed from the image and with them still there. I get the crash either way. And it's very consistent.

Again, this forum is for discussing the code for Liberty City. What you want is a Vice City coordinates mod. You would add it to your code the exact same way as you would for Vice City. Search around a bit (both at these forums and a little known site called google) and you should find any one of several coordinate mods.

 

But this isn't the place to look.

I've been away for the weekend, so a bit late reaction.

 

Great package, mark...

I don't have a fresh LC backup present, so I haven't use your full package,

but I just replace the txd,dff files in the img and the col file.

 

the train is now centered on the rails.

My doors are not visible at the moment , but I'll look into that for any problems of my own.

It doesn't crash on me .....

 

The new colfile does indeed strange things to the player while riding the train.

I kinda liked the possibility to move around in the train, but I guess I have too look into fixating the player during the ride. A simple freeze will not do, but there's an opcode that is use in the original VC mission, that fixates an actor relative to the moving object ( train in this case).

I know for a fact you've inspired the Myraid Island team to do a similar thing with trains so great work

Oh I will make an unofficial col for that but I still get kick from the train sometimes with RDTG's col files used on the off-centered train.

Hopefully we could get peds boarding unofficially too.

 

GTAIII's didn't.
