Look at the post right above yours. Nobody will be emailed anything. It's far too impractical. When a version is ready for download, I'm sure Smithers will upload it somewhere where everybody can get it.

Also I have the newest launcher for now, and the GTAlc official trainer doesnt work, says Liberty aint running (yes i put it in the Lc directory) and when running the trainer the garages wont open

That's because the new launcher makes it impossible for some programs to work with it. There's a few more details a couple of posts up. The official trainer will most likely be updated to work with the new launcher.

 

You might have to wait a little while for it though. If you can't wait, I believe the launcher that's in the official downloads page is an older version.

 

And after seeing that banana and lock, I cannot help but post this:

Ill take note of that, make the new city loader compatible with any window caption... err... except the MTA one.

Ill be uploading the source to the first one again (when my got his finger out of his ...) but Im not gona be releasing the source code to the next release, its more trouble than its worth releasing it, I get a load of people pestering me about how it works everyday, and with the code in the next one, theres only a very small percentage of people who will have worked with memory editing before.

 

However, you can expect the release soon, and the 3rd bar in my sig is the city loader progress, so keep your eyes on that.

 

(I got another karma star... yipee!)

Hey

 

Earlier today i had gta liberty city working fine with a few car mods, but then it started crashing so i reinstalled it, installed the car mod that i had working perfectly eairler but it f*cking crashes on load!

 

Why when it was working perfectly eairler! and i was using the vice timecyc.dat but i wouldn't think that has anything to do with it

 

Please help as i love liberty and those cars i had in it

When people shoot at you from behind the wall by Easy Credit Autos they don't shoot high enough so you are completely protected. It's then easy to trick a cop into shooting a gang member and you can watch them shoot it out. Fun stuff.

Its a double post, but its worth it, heres a couple of dev shots of the new city loader to keep people convinced im actually doing something.

 

And, people just dont seem to realise the great system that is INIs, so Im making a config page to make things simple[ish].

I'll make some nice cutscenes at both airports of LC and VC. Players enter the terminal, checks in for the flight (vc only, lc doesn't have a check in desk) and you will see a airplane leaving, and when you arive you will see a airplane coming .

G'day all...

 

I hate to ask the same question for what would be the 137th time you've heard it, but I have no ingame sounds.

 

I installed GTA:VC.

 

I ran the GTA:LC installer and everything completed normally.

 

I click the GTA:LC desktop icon and everything starts. The game runs normally and perfectly... however there is no sound ingame.

 

I hear the intro music (where you see the R* screen and as the VC intro plays) but nothing else. I go to options and the 'audio' choice is greyed out telling me there is no audio harware installed. (which, of course, there is... prior to 'patching' the game with GTA:LC I can confirm the game works normally)

 

To be sure everything went as planned, I manually copied the contents of the GTA:LC rar file to their repective folders, no change.

 

I installed the GTA sound files that are here (called AudioLC) trying them in both a folder called 'AudioLC' and in the GTA:VC audio folder. I also tried copying all the files from the GTA3 Play disc (Audio folder) to a folder called 'AudioLC' and also to the 'Audio' folder as well.

 

I've read this thread as well as the FAQ, the audio thread and a multitude of others to try and figure it out myself, all to no avail.

 

So what am I missing? Is there a step or file that I'm missing? Perhaps a beating around the head will help?

 

Could some kind soul please give me detailed and precise intructions detailing exactly what I have to do to get this to work?

Hmm... interesting. Let me get this straight, you've never had audio working with GTA:LC (even when only the beta was installed)?

 

It sounds like you're doing things right, so I'm puzzled why you're getting this problem. Does audio work in Vice City?

 

Just to clarify, there are two folders that contain audio that are required for GTA:LC. The first folder is called audio and it contains all of the files that are copied with a full install of Vice City. My audio folder has 1,223 files.

 

Then there is a seperate folder called audioLC that contains the GTA3 specific audio files. These are found on the GTA3 Play CD in the audio folder. Or you can get the required files at the link you listed. The latest scm requires 52 files in this folder.

 

The two folders should look like this:

 

If you have it set up like that and you're still not getting audio, then there must be some setting that is screwed up.

Ok... first, FYI, I have the Australian version of the game... V1.0 I believe... it was censored so you couldn't pick up hookers (and hence have the chance to murder them 'afterwards') A 'modified' .exe file removed this restriction... so I believe there were no other changes or missing files... but I'm not using this modified .exe file. I don't believe this is an issue but I mention it anyway.

 

A fresh install of VC shows 1,221 files in the Audio folder. (the game runs perfectly with *all* sounds working.)

 

The AudioLC package contains 52 sound files... These go to the \AudioLC folder I create.

 

I then install the GTA:LC package... now, the structure of this package indicates it copies the files in the \Audio folder to the \Audio folder in the VC directory... correct? There are 6 files.

 

Ok... to recap the preceedings..The file structure I have is the same as your picture... I have installed both the GTA:LC and the AudioLC packages. I have 1,226 files in \Audio (the 1,221 files from the fresh VC install and 6 from the LC installer... 'miscom' is a common file between them). There are 52 files in \AudioLC. The game runs normally... but no sound. The audio options in the menu are greyed out.

 

And now, perhaps a key point.... if I change the GTA:LC.ini file to include the 'ShowConfig = 1' line, there is nothing in any of the fields... no 'building' or 'dummy' values or indeed anything at all. Clicking on any of these fields does nothing either. I can't help but feel this has something to do with it...?

 

Also, the first AudioLC archive I downloaded contained only 47 files. I've downloaded the GTA:LC Beta package twice. (a 85Mb .zip file! why do people bother with .zip files when .rar is so much better in so many ways?)
