A second beta has barely even been discussed, and it probably won't happen for a couple months. There's several other things that I want finished before we release a second beta.

Not to mention that the first beta was meant to put it out there, which we have. Everything from now on is realy private development in a public place. Everybody's free to mod their game how they choose. I imagine once a nice chunk of progress is made, a 2nd beta wouldn't be far off.

I was looking at Run Down That Guy's particle file for LC and I was wondering if there is a version of the particle file compatible with GTA3.

well, what? with my added Xbox one? I can make you one if you like smile.gif

 

 

 

BTW, dem, GTA3 has 32 bit particles, making mine JUST like GTA3, why can it not be official? I can remove the xbox ones if you want.

  • A menu system is being worked on.
  • With a little clever SCM coding, even with the release already made, you can edit it and make as many ways to teleport to the other city as you want, but Ill be working on that anyways, making it REALLY simple for the next release.
  • If it doesnt work, I made some posts referring to the version you need etc a while back.
  • No updates just yet. Ive only just got back home.
  • The tunnel is more than possible to make as a tunnel to Vice, but Im not the best of a modeller, and I wouldnt wanna make a tunnel for Vice (as it doesnt already have one).
  • Myriad should work with it in the next version.
  • My SCM coding isnt upto scratch, as far as I am aware, using path0.dat or whatever it is (cortez's yacht) you could make a 747 plane follow a certain path, but it never worked when I tried properly.

Sorry for listin em, but Ive just gotten back from scotland, so Im just answering all the things I think need answering. wink.gif

 

Update soon, now I have my lovely computers to work with again.

if its at all possible can i get a list of all the vice cars you replace with the gta3 cars for modding purposes. im haveing a hell of a time trying to figure out what cars are really what. if i wanna put a costum car in to game i have to export every model and look at it in the dff viewer just to see what it is. the txd editor is useless too, all the cars for the most part have the exact same texturs. and the gtx editors dont even work on my system so im screwed there. so can someone please help me out that either has a list or knows of all the cars or knows where i can get a list of them all. thanks

 

edit: is the list on this page the real list of all the replace cars im useing the bata mod.?

Yes I would just like the XBOX version of the particle file compatible with GTA3 and if you could make it for me that would be great.

I don't think the second suggestion is an option. But the first one (the sea floor) should be done right away.

 

Do we have any mappers or modellers left on the team that can do that? A simple flat floor might just be enough.

I converted the rampages code and is now in process of testing (it would take a while: 20 rampages, 40 locations). So far two Shoreside Vale rampages with Hoods on M16 and Shotgun have no ammo problems. More reports to come, including Uzi Money (hehe, maybe I'm a bit premature, it's just that I'm excited about how the first two rampages seem to work).

Sometimes when i'm playin LC with the main.scm i got from here the game just crashes, when i'm running then when i stop to shoot it just crashes. i don't know where to put this because i'm using the main.scm file you guys post.

It may be related to the weapon.dat update. I've noticed there's sometimes lockups when I'm shooting. They're rare, but I have noticed some. When I replace it with the original Vice weapon.dat, I don't remember getting any.

There is a newer version. Check the official updates thread. I don't think I've had any lockups with that one yet (but I haven't tried to lock it up either)

I think there is a scm bug at the casino. Every time I approach the casino from the left the game craches. Before I installed those new scm's I never had this problem. rampage_ani.gif

2 easy questions for u modders.

How do I mod so that every time I enter vehicle, radio starts to play from

mp3 folder, that I don´t have to change it with mousewheel?

I´ve had enough of the radio stations.

Playing Vice City I launched gta-vc.exe from mp3 randomizer, How can

I use mp3 randomizer with Gta Lc? I have installed all updates.

How to make it always be one station is a VC question, not an LC one. The answer is that there is no way. However, pressing F9 will put it directly on MP3.

 

Not familiar with the randomizer, but when playing LC, the lc.exe has to launch VC. Nothing else can.

i've found the problem why it crashes with the ak47. when you get the weapon around the city but not the safe house the game crashes when you try to use it.

anyone noticed that the roof leaks in the tunnels? lol

 

need to fix the roof so rain doesn't go through it..

(btw i found it interesting that i can drive on top of the tunnel's invisible roof. changed timecyc.dat so water is transparent.. )

and i searched for 'rain' first and couldn't find any related results..

Look in the official updates thread. There is a file called cull.ipl. That defines the rain free zones. It has been updated since the beta.

We're running into problems with the AK47 in the rampages as well. Hopefully we can sort that out.

the cars on da 1st bridge go from 1 lane then the go back and crash in to the

wall then they backup and hit another car then they drive madly!

crazy bug!

im havin a problem of opening the english gxt. i get this message.

american.gxt? Try the CyQ's Vice City GXT editor. GTATexter doesn't work for it. Or the gxtedit in the last post (Haven't tried, although)

i don't know if this is the right place to put this, sorry if it isn;t

i wanted another model for the stinger, so i look at the list on the first page, i rename the custom model to stinger.dff and stinger.txd and replace em. but ingame i still have the default stinger. what is going on?

there are 2 versions of the stinger:

without roof (that one's stinger.dff/stinger.txd)

with roof (that one's sabre.dff/sabre.txd)
