I must point out another GXT editor that Main_Salvadore told me and that, in my opinion, it's awesome. It puts you the text like you are reading in the original GTA font. Check it out:

Do you see the mission's cutscenes with dutch subtitles or do you not see nothing at all?

Actually, if you took the time to pick apart RealGTA3, you should be able to apply the changes to LC. It will take patience and of course permission from the original author(s) wink.gif

Err... when playing the Police car submission, I went to get a felon to Red Light district (The road at the border of the district), the bad guy dssapeared? You know why?

I saw that that piece of road is composed of two pieces, and the bad guy just slip eternally in the middle.

Weird. It might be a paths problem. The code for the vigilante and firefighter missions gets a random set of coordinates. Then it places the vehicle in the path that is closest to those coordinates. So if the path is messed up somehow, then the car may not spawn properly.

 

On a very related note, I noticed a similar problem when doing the firefighter mission. A vehicle was supposed to spawn about half way up the hill (right be Easy Credit Autos), but the car was spawning right under the road. You could tell by looking at the arrow that it was spawning just below the surface, then falling into blue-hell, and respawning again just below the surface. So I'm guessing that the z-value for that part of the path is too low. It won't affect cars because the road will keep them from falling, but when a vehicle is spawned in the same area, then it's a problem.

I was looking at Run Down That Guy's particle file for LC and I was wondering if there is a version of the particle file compatible with GTA3.

If you did that when you get in the car train thing you would be able to drive it yourself, unless the script controlled the speed of the train

I had both problems while test-playing the missions, it seems that there has to be some bug with the path-data... (in Redlight the fleeing ped just felt thru the ground at the same place and at the hills near the mafia mansion the cars spawn inside the road/under the road)

 

So perhaps the person that did the paths/roads could answer our question if there are any bugs in that parts of the map?

 

EDiT: I already had this bug while driving along the roads doing nothing, some cars spawned inside the road (and got stuck), others drive on the footpath just to drive back to the road... so something is wrong there (last thing happened near the bridge to the 3rd island)

Hi guys,

 

Should the community expect an new (beta) version of GTA: Liberty City in the very near future, a version that is updated with features that have been developed since the first release? Or are we supposed to update the mod ourselves? I hope you could give me some information on this. Anyways, you guys are doing a great job. Keep it up!

As far as VC is concerned, the Skimmer is a flying boat, not a floating plane. And VC boats aren't programmed to have wheels. End of story.

Ok, I happened to stumble accross some memory addresses that made this all possible (theyre no secret, theyre posted in delfi's memory address topic).

 

Anyways, it proved to work better than I had expected, infact, it took me only a day and proved fairly painless programming.

 

What it does: You goto airport, city loader shuts down vice/lc, and loads up the other game, without the menus, it just goes straight in.

 

Its done as smoothly as possible, so you cant really tell that a different game is being launched as i very dodgily covered the desktop with a blank black window wink.gif

 

If youre one of the many people who asks annoying questions, I will invite you to read this:

 

INSTALLATIONRename LC.scm to main.scm and place it in your GTA:LC/data folder. Youshould backup your old main.scm because im not to be trusted;)Rename VC.scm to main.scm and put it in your GTA:VC/data folder. Once againmake sure you backup.Put settings.ini and City Loader.exe in a folder (can be anywhere).Edit the settings.ini, it has comments which are reasonably simple if youhave a brain.Run City Launcer.exe, if you did everything right then youll see the gamestart and you will be at the airport.INFORMATIONTo goto vice city from Liberty, goto Terminal B at the airport and walk to the doors (middle doors).To goto Liberty from vice goto the tunnel on the left (looking as so you were stood at one of the doors).NOTESDont edit the SCMs, youll mess things up. Ok, this IS A BETA version (version 0.2.1 to be precise). Its not moddable yet, it will be soon though.

 

I recommend that you play as fido and use the beautiful GTA3 cars in your copy of vice as well to make it all in the same year turn.gif

 

I think im going mad too, because on this one occasion im going to release my code, feel free to use it, study it, delete it or anything else under the sun as long as you credit me somehow. (the alternative is to start praying to me, and you dont wanna start doing that do you).

Youll need VB runtimes, and for some reason, my server 2003 sometimes tells me that it wants to send an error report about Vice being closed, but it did this on my vice too, if that happens, check your taskbar (Dbl click the black window and it will vanish) and resume it.

 

PS: If you dont like it, i dont wanna hear it. Some people do like it, and its for those.

i dont think anyone will do this but if u can add a path to myraid islands

or even better have a menu screen when u enter that airport thing and choose what city you want to goto

Yet another mod request.

 

Me, and I bet alot of other people miss the Malibu. I was wondering if anyone could bring it in LC?

It doesn't have to be exactly like Malibu, and I'm not too crazy about the pink strobe lights so that could change.

 

I was thinking of a rooftop disco:

Hammer83 made a file which blanked out a few Vice City specific wave files. I changed it a little bit so it blanks out ALL of the Vice City sounds. This update will save you more than 150 MB. And the download is super small (about 3k).

 

Just download the file, extract it to the audio folder and run the batch file. It will replace all of the extra waves and mp3s with small dummy files. This is tested and you can run your game fine (even with the no-cd patch) after you run it.

 

Here is the file. Enjoy, and thanks to Hammer for the idea.

 

@spaceeinstein, sorry for the delay, but your audio update is on the official page now. I got rid of the older two, as this file combines those into one file.

Just found the time to install this much anticipated Mod.

 

Mod of the Year - no doubt! smile.gif

 

Easy install, worked first time - no problems!

I did a manual install.

I really tested it to the limits for a few hours

and not ONE bug or glitch or crash!!!

 

AMAZING work peeps!

 

Liberty City was always my favorite GTA game and

this Mod really rocks. VC improvements and a fully

opened city make it a really fresh experience for me.

Graphics are greatly improved over the old GTA3.

The only things missing are my favorite GTA3 Mods

so I better get those back-up CD's dusted off and

get converting smile.gif

 

BIG kudos to the GTA LC Team!

It wont be too hard to convert the Malibu ckub to LC, unless you mean a new club the problem may be the interior because they are coded to load up.

Well I'm not picky, I'm ok with it being identical. We could tweak that for ourselfs later on. The rooftop thing still sounds really kick-ass to me though. Is it possible to place the malibu in a rooftop?

sorry if someone else mentioned this.. but i am working long hours right now and do not have time to read all the threads..

 

i'm assuming there is a reason why when i try to turn all the cars 'on' using default.ide the game crashes..

 

my question is.. if i grab all the vice city cars, replace default.ide and handling.cfg and the collision file from vice.. and put them in my gta-lc gta3.img file, would i be able to play the game using all the vice cars..

 

or is there something else to worry about, such as 'where' the cars are located at..

thinking i might overlook something if i did this.
