I just realized that myself. It worked the first time I played it through. But now I get the ping of death. I'll see if I can find the bug tonight.

 

 

 

EDIT (after over 6 hours of messing with the code):

 

I'm stumped right now. There were several small errors in the code, but none of them were causing the lockup as I'm still getting it. I did discover something pretty interesting though. If I set the global variables $RIGGED_TO_BLOW_COMPLETED and $RUMBLE_COMPLETED to 1, then I can pass the mission fine. When I do that, this is the only section of code that applies:

So the first time that you play the mission, only these lines are different:

 

0004:  $RIGGED_TO_BLOW_COMPLETED =  1?0318: set_latest_mission_passed "HM_3"  \\ 'RIGGED TO BLOW'030C: set_mission_points +=  1?004F: create_thread_££LabelUziMoneyMonitor

I see nothing wrong with any of these lines so it's really bizarre that I can pass the mission every time if I go through the second time as opposed to the first.

 

If you want to look at the full source, here's the file I'm working with right now. It's set to start you off right next to the phone with Rigged to Blow already queued up. $RUMBLE_COMPLETED and $RIGGED_TO_BLOW_COMPELTED are set to 1 so the mission is passable. Maybe one of you guys can spot the bug. Right now my brain is completely fried.

 

 

EDIT #2 (I think I got it)

Stupid me. It seems the harder you look at code the easier it is to miss something painfully obvious. As you can see I had an extra underscore in my create_thread line. Oops. The bug is fixed and I'm about to reupload the files. I just have to change the correct order of the missions back.

 

At least I've gotten pretty good at this mission now. My personal best defusal time is 2:00 flat, but I know I can get about 10-15 seconds faster if I do it perfectly.

i start GTA LC where you stand by the kuruma got in it and started driving to staunton by using the callaghan bridge and all of a sudden i get an unhandled exception error mad.gif

What updates have you installed? Because if you have the most recent files, that should not happen.

This is the original radar which came with the GTA:WO release its been converted to the new position a while back by Killer.ip but I dont think it was ever released.

It came with the GTA:WO release so I am not sure of the aoriginal author, I DONT TAKE ANY CREDIT WHATSOEVER apart from the smallest changes I made so this was as near as possible.

 

Thanks go out to the original author of this mod.

As you can see I had an extra underscore in my create_thread line.

 

That sounds weird, shouldnt the builder tell you that this label isnt existing? (or does it simply ignore this typo?)

 

Thats why I dont really like the builder, its too buggy... (gtaMA would alert me that there is some unknown opcode and that this label doesnt yet exists in my code)

 

And I haven't found the bug yet in the drive-by mission, so I will have to hack the mission so it will automatically give you new ammo if you will run out of it...

It probably should have told me that there was no parametes to my opcode, but oh well, I eventually found it. And that bug made me really look at my code and make it as efficient as I could.

 

Hopefully we won't have to hack up the rampages as well to get it to work. Actually, converting the rampages might show us what we need to do to get this to work with the Vice City engine. I know I'm not up to that though. I'm probably going to take a few days off of coding, then start up the Yardie missions.

I think someone should check out the subtitles for the Hoods drive-by mission because when playing it has something completely different in text than what the guy is actually saying (about half way through it things get messed up).

Oops, that was my fault. It's fixed now. And I also fixed the unique jumps bug where flying vehicles activated the camera move. And finally, I found out I accidentally added TbM2k's no-flip and coordinates mod into our code. That is now removed.

Here's a crazy suggestion:

About the subway and L train: Could an unused car (Bloodring Banger or Hotring Racer, etc) be replaced with the subway models and the collision files replaced as well to recreate the subway and tram and then edit their paths to go around their tracks? (Is this the wrong thread to post this in?)

Thats really weird, I looked into the rampages that are done in VC and found out that you can do rampages with nearly every weapon (I did a rampage only with my hands, I was remembered of my old d**m times)

The other thing I found out was that I already have to had the weapon to do a rampage (or else there was no weapon icon and the game crashes when I press the fire button, perhaps this happens because I was inside a car when the rampages were starting?) and the script seems to request the needed weapon before starting the rampage..

 

Oh, and last thing is that the script is checking inside the ammoX threads if I'm inside a rampage so i can't get weapons at the Ammunations (and in about 3 other threads)

 

But with every weapon I only got the normal amount of ammo, no infinite-ammo like I thought first... sad.gif

2:back up Main

3:pick the new main and put it in the data file! oke??

look, the skimmer has a handeling with out wheels, just make the wheel under the skimmer!

 

but you aready use the skimmer!! and nobody want to lose the skimmer? right? just ADD a skimmer with wheels under it in the handeling....you get that?? sorry for my very bad english? blush.gif
