nope, not possible, when flying, the heli will fly lower and lower, until you cant go any further bored.gif looks like there must be another way

It might be useful to shut up Tommy Vercetti's voiceovers (Don´t think I found any posts about it): Like when you steal a car and Vercetti says something, or when you take the money of a dead one and he says 'You won't need that anymore'.

GTA:LC Language Packs

 

The american.gxt file is now final. If anyone wants to do translations to other languages, you'll need a copy of it and CyQ's vicegxt editor - both can be found in this package. The american_VC-Radio.gxt is the same as the american.gxt, except for the radio station names and some differences in credits - translations should be done for both files.

 

Also found in the package are the most up-to-date versions of translations so far - they are not complete as there has been no updates since the final american.gxt was released. The translations part done so far are:

• Spanish - VGF

• French - Knightriders

• Russian - Main_Salvadore

 

DONE and currently up-to-date:

• German - MoeRonimoe / SteaVor

• Spanish - VGF

 

Also, we now have a complete Polish translation for LC - thanks to Wasyl-Pasyl icon14.gif.

 

If you are interested in helping out with a translation, please post here.

Yeah all of the Tommy voices in the SFX file should be blanked out. I already fixed the ones that are wave files in the audio folder. But the SFX Vercetti effect are still there.

Tommy's voice goes from sfx8694 to sfx9808. A few are just blanks. But I'm not doing all that.

for some reason when i start with the gta lc launcher, i have no sound, and in the options it says NO AUDIO HARDWARE. when i start with the gta-vc.exe i have sound but then it has the ping error when its about three quarters through loading. also i followed the steps in the readme to import the gta3 radio stations, but in the audio options the radio stations are still the vice city ones. im sorry if this was covered somewhere else, ill accept a helpful link instead of direct help if you please. thanks

You put the AudioLC contents into the Audio file right? This is wrong as I did it you should copy that file and paste it where the data, models, TEXT and all the files are and overwrite the launcher and the other file all will work then. smile.gif

Yeah that's an issue where the launcher is telling the exe where to look for the GTA3 sounds. If they're not where they're supposed to be, then you will get no sound at all. All of the audio from the GTA3 CD should be copied into a folder called AudioLC and that folder should be in your root directory (with the data, models, and text folders) Right now if any of the following files are not in that AudioLC folder, then you will get no audio.

  • MT_PH1.mp3
  • MF1_A.WAV
  • MF4_A.WAV
  • DOOR_1.WAV
  • DOOR_3.WAV
  • MT_PH2.MP3
  • MF4_B.WAV
  • MT_PH3.MP3
  • MF2_A.WAV
  • MF4_C.WAV
  • MT_PH4.MP3
  • MF3_A.WAV
  • MF3_B.WAV
  • MF3_B1.WAV
  • MF3_C.WAV

But like I said, you should just copy all of the audio files from the GTA3 CD to the AudioLC folder. If you're running low on hard drive space, you do not need the radio stations, the police station, the city, or water files.

awesome, thanks. as soon as i played vice city i loved all the new features, but i loved the liberty city setting even more, and now this mod combines the two. sure, there is a lot of stuff that needs to be done, but its great, good work guys. and keep it up.

 

o yea, a readme in the updated launcher file would help tounge.gif

From the GTAIII EULA:

pretty much if the gta-vc.exe is required, the exe is NOT distributed with the mod, and you dont sell it, its ok... the last part (vi) sounds scary but i have read in many places that reverse engineering is NOT illegal, they just want you to think it is. i know, that doesnt mean what i read is true, just because i want to believe it. its really up to you guys, but i say dont pass this up, PC Gamer is the big time.

Just to clarify:

 

We do not distribute an exe. We distribute a launcher which modifies the exe (note: the original exe is still required) to do what we need to. Trust me, we've been over this a few times. And I think we're big enough that Rockstar definetly knows about us. And they haven't called yet...

Hey, I mean they are R* are giving away BETAs to magz to test out SA, why shouldn't we send out the LC BETA to magz to get it tested?

 

They know it's a beta, they know it's full of bugs.

 

Remember, magazines only forcus on the good things. wink.gif Yet I haven't heard anything bad about SA. smile.gif

 

But you should also get some internet "magazines" to do it, like boomtown.net. They are currently holding up almost entire Denmark plus UK, Switzerland and France to. But those countries are some bigger than Denmark.

 

But remember, let them come to us, don't come to them wink.gif

 

And if they do, it's a good sign. smile.gif

 

@Craig: Hmmm... of course Rockstar knows about it, Rockstar knows EVERYTHING that happens at GTAF, I believe some of the members could be from Rockstar, with out us knowing it. wow.gif

 

But, I believe Rockstar always react late, cause that is their style. wink.gif

happy to see my name in the games outro and readme biggrin.gif . thought ill download new ver. and look for bugs , here is what i came up with , sorry no pics cos my host is joking confused.gif .

 

the small red sign right near the entrance of the second islands hospital has the rear side not patched up , you can see the same texture as in front but mirrored and the lightposts look weird as well

 

oh and dodos wheels are waaay too small

I've said this before in many a previous post Games Manufacturers will mention in the EULA about modifing games, but Games Manufacturers will more than likely not interfere unless the mod makes the original game unrecognisable in which case that goes 'completely' against the EULA and action may be taken, but in this case R* will probably not make any fuss because the way I see it, this mod is just doing what R* would have done had they had the right engine at the time and besides R* will have enough on thier plates with SA, not only that as I've also mentioned a couple of times it's modders who not only appreicate the game by making a mod for it but at the same time inspire the maker into putting something into the next game that has become a popular choice of mod for the current game. The best example of this is probably bikes.

 

And as for R* knowing about this mod, trust me they know all about it, (adopts phoney Chicago Mob accent) "But don't ask me how I know I can't reveal my sources"

 

And your right Svip let them come not the other way round.

i highlighted that because in between the shore and the line, the water is a grey color, and i drove into the water during a police chase thingy, and it was like a freefall, no water, and i eventually ended up in the tunnel down there. not like i landed there after the fall, but like the car spawned there with me in it. sorry if this has been mentioned before, i didnt want to read through the 12 pages of this thread

It's been mentioned several times. It happens any place where the water runs over the underground tunnels.

Also when you hotlink imagestation images, take out the .orig.jpg. Otherwise, everyone else just sees the "You are trying to access an image from outside ImageStation.com" image.
