soo the water is in tiles, yes, so can the water tiles be overlapped?

I don't think so then you would get a really weird thing like watching through 2 windows at the same time.

It will make the water look different from one place to the other.

No one would ever send you the radio files, you are supposed to have GTA3 when you download this mod.

Funny...NOT!!

 

I can't see why use GTA:LC if yoyu already got gta III(except the bikes and some LITTLE extras).

But, if a download of 64 mb for the beta = ok and the adf's aren't, ok.

i'll accept.

Btw, i am planning to host a COMPLETE install of GTA:LC(with the updates), is that possible by the rules, mister president?

I've got my own server, so when i got the adf's, anyone can download them from me, so i'll notify you when i've got them.

There will be a next release. Don't make it yourself.

 

And do I get this right? The only reason you want to install LC is because you don't want to buy GTA3?

 

And it's not just bikes, also heli's more advanced engine, better graphics and not to forget, the engine of Vice city runs hell lot better then GTA3. And the challange to completely move the city from one engine to the other.

And if you look in the release thread, it specifically states that anybody is free to host the beta. Just PM me with the link so I can add it.

I updated the particle.txd to make no reflections on water and made the pink circle into a blue circle.

i just wanted to know was what the missions were and thnx i found them in the readme i didnt need a lecture about how long it takes cause i know how long it takes lol AGES otherwise this woulda been dun and dusted months ago i aint THAT stupid

What 3 area's are this? I need to convert these for the SSV garage and it's a lot of work to find out myself.

So if you remember what those three are (in the garge, in front of etc.) please say so or I will have to find out myself.

 

Edit: I found it out.

The first one is the complete garage including a area in front of the garage.

The second one is a area in front of the garage.

The third one is the inside of the garage.

Ok, I happened to stumble accross some memory addresses that made this all possible (theyre no secret, theyre posted in delfi's memory address topic).

 

Anyways, it proved to work better than I had expected, infact, it took me only a day and proved fairly painless programming.

 

What it does: You goto airport, city loader shuts down vice/lc, and loads up the other game, without the menus, it just goes straight in.

 

Its done as smoothly as possible, so you cant really tell that a different game is being launched as i very dodgily covered the desktop with a blank black window wink.gif

 

If youre one of the many people who asks annoying questions, I will invite you to read this:

 

INSTALLATIONRename LC.scm to main.scm and place it in your GTA:LC/data folder. Youshould backup your old main.scm because im not to be trusted;)Rename VC.scm to main.scm and put it in your GTA:VC/data folder. Once againmake sure you backup.Put settings.ini and City Loader.exe in a folder (can be anywhere).Edit the settings.ini, it has comments which are reasonably simple if youhave a brain.Run City Launcer.exe, if you did everything right then youll see the gamestart and you will be at the airport.INFORMATIONTo goto vice city from Liberty, goto Terminal B at the airport and walk to the doors (middle doors).To goto Liberty from vice goto the tunnel on the left (looking as so you were stood at one of the doors).NOTESDont edit the SCMs, youll mess things up. Ok, this IS A BETA version (version 0.2.1 to be precise). Its not moddable yet, it will be soon though.

 

I recommend that you play as fido and use the beautiful GTA3 cars in your copy of vice as well to make it all in the same year turn.gif

 

I think im going mad too, because on this one occasion im going to release my code, feel free to use it, study it, delete it or anything else under the sun as long as you credit me somehow. (the alternative is to start praying to me, and you dont wanna start doing that do you).

Youll need VB runtimes, and for some reason, my server 2003 sometimes tells me that it wants to send an error report about Vice being closed, but it did this on my vice too, if that happens, check your taskbar (Dbl click the black window and it will vanish) and resume it.

 

PS: If you dont like it, i dont wanna hear it. Some people do like it, and its for those.

Kinda forgot to mention...

 

The CreateProcess API is REALLY picky when it comes to names, so if nothing runs when you run it, it could be that it doesnt like the paths, make sure they end with a \ etc, its just a pain.

 

EDIT: If you find that one path isnt running, check it, and if youre having problems such as getting stuck at a black screen that you can only get rid of by killing the switcher... then dbl click it (it removes the black screen wink.gif )

I got the importer completely working now.

 

I tagged all the labels with _SSV and all I have to now is update the Exporter but I'm also testing Smithers2 new city tool.

Could GTA: WO's idea be possible then? Build a bridge into the edge of the map, and the same on VC, then set the new game to load at that point.

 

Also, could this work for the original GTA3? Or would you have to re-write all the adresses and stuff?

Yeah, you could actually build a bridge, the command from the scm is just when it sets a float to 1.0, so its a simple command, and im gona make it earlier in the code, so that changes to the SCM are unlikely to mess it up in the next release.

 

It could probobly work with GTA3 if i got the new addresses.

 

And yes, GTA:WO's idea is possible... strange how it only took me 1 day and it took them.... err...

 

... lost count

 

EDIT: Should you have problems launching GTA:LC but not VC, try setting the LC launcher path to the full path.
