Chopper Missiing

sometimes when i go onto my tower on vercetti's masion the chopper is missing. whats wrong?

it's only benn missing for me once. the sea sparrow too, as well as hyman mav. other folks say it's missing alot more for them. maybe a timing issue? i fly alot (half the time?)

Not really, no. It is meant to happen. Spawning invariably is the thing...

 

I.e. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it isn't.

 

Don't worry though, it happens to everyone.

 

So if it isn't there one time, go and do something else, then go back and it should be there.

 

In essence, nothing is wrong - just keep going back.

This was just discussed recently. I never see that happen unless I load my game from the mansion. Usually looking for one and then going to the other will make one or both appear.

Yes. I get this every once and a while. It's very simple to fix. All I do is well, I do the "long way". If I go up there and it's not there, I'll proceed to jump off the roof (losing some health points) then go back through the back area. You know? The inside pool in the back. Go there, make a right...go up the stairs and it's usually there. OR, you can do the must easier, "shorter", and no loss of health point way. Just go back down, get in a car...drive around Starfish Island. Once you come back it should be there. I only do the "driving around" option when the limo hasn't spawned.

By jumping off the roof and reentering the building you are causing that part off the game code to reload, which would re-randomize everything to see weather or not it spawns. Perhaps you could try just walking back and forth in and out of the door at the top of the stair well, going far enough to reload that part of the game. Never tried it, but it may work.

I know this is a PC forum and I have the PS2 version but:

 

In the PS2 version, if you load from the mansion look out the window the sea sparrow will not be there and if you go out the back door it also won't be there, but if you go out the front and around the pool side of the mansion to the back it will be there (every time) and if you fly up the maverick will also be there-- I've noticed they tend to spawn together-- I'd give this a try and see if the PC version does it too.

 

My hyman maverick is never there if I load from there (unless I leave and come back).

 

I've also noticed that the Hunter at fort baxter will rarely spawn unless you approach low in a chopper or unless you enter the base on foot.

 

And the hunter on the first island will rarely spawn if you approach from the land side but if you approach from the water side (in another chopper) it is always there.

it all depends on how quickly your computer can render the model for you, if you get there too quickly your computer doesnt have time to make it, so it basically goes "bugger it" and you wont have a helicopter, if this happens just go inside, then back out again and it should work too. its all bout the rendering speed
