my favorite new aged heavy metal band has to be HIM.

HIM is not metal and it's not new age. I'd call it pop or MTV music.

Anyone listen to Serenia? Cool mix of dutch sympohonic (they're actually Norwegian) and the keyboards and vocals of 80's music like Blonde and Depeche Mode. And of course they have the obligatory black and death style vocals and fairly crunchy guitars.

Still can't seem to get enough of Necroblaspheme..

You mean Sirenia? tounge.gif Wow, something we can agree on. I love them. They sound a bit like Tristania but without all the cheese.

Oh crap. November 7th. New York City. Three bands: Vader, Suffocation, Cryptopsy. Wow.

If you're going, I hate you.

If you're not going, why the f*ck not?

I'd go but I'm not sure if the event is all ages or not. confused.gif

I went ahead and looked around on Ticketmaster and so far it doesn't say its 18+ yet so it could be all ages.

ThaddeusMcKlown

That's the kind of album i'd buy just because the cover looks badass.

What genre is Exodus? I hear their name quite a bit on GTAF and off, but i've never heard their music.

Against the grain, against the odds, against the world

Forever the underdogs

We are the bastard sons
We are the ones that refuse to grow cold
We are the thorn in your side
We are the thieves in the night
And we're coming to take what's ours

I'm 90 percent sure they are considered thrash metal. I've heard a few songs and I think their good.

Correct, Exodus is in the catigory of thrash/speed metal.

Though imo, from what I'v heard from Tempo Of The Damned, it seems like a straight up heavy metal album.

So I'm sure you know Morten Veland of Sirenia (doh) was once in Tristania, which I've actually never listened to. So they suck, eh?

I didn't say they suck. I said they have a bit of a cheesy sound. Reason Veland left was because he disagreed with Tristanias sound. So yes, I still think Sirenia is better than Tristania. tounge.gif

Decided to pop in Act III by Death Angel, seeing as I haven't in a month or two. I like it a little more then I did when I bought it, but I still don't really like the lead singer's voice.

While we are on the topic of Exodus, I saw Tempo of the Damned today at FYE while I was shopping for school stuff, but I turned it down for Deliverance.

I wouldn't say that its pop or MTV, i agree with whoever said it was metal, not that heavy metal, but still metal. Either ways its deff not MTV.

Anyway:

Trivium - 18th Sept - London Astoria

cKy - 29th Sept - London Astoria

Cradle Of Filth - 8th December (i think) - The Forum

Can't wait!

Exodus: Oct, 31 - Seattle WA @ El Corazon

Even more awsome!

But anyways, listening to stuff from the upcoming album, and I'm digging what i hear. Musicly, it sounds like Tempo, but wil a bit more bass drums, and the new singer sounds like Souza but with a bit deeper voice.

All and all, I can't wait for it to come out.

Love metal isn't even a real genre.

oops my bad how come I always thought it was a sub genre of metal?

Because your mother drank when she was pregnant with you?

No, not really, but it's just the title of their album. But yeah, stop talking about that sh*t and start talking about metal.

Hah, wicked. It is supposed to symbolize the band's stance on war and greedy politicans? I get a political vibe from looking at it. dontgetit.gif
