Browsing some Megadeth sites and found that. very early Megadeth pic. If your wondering who the guy with the fuzzy hair is, that would be Kerry King. I found out today that he was one of the founding members of Megadeth.

Edit: Link should work now.

I'm 65% sure that Kerry King was a short-time Megadeth support guitarist.

Sidenote: King used to fill in for Megadeth in the early days, while Dave Mustaine was having guitarist problems.

The picture doesn't work either, would be interesting to see.

Thanks for restating what I already said. mad.gif

Yeah, I have The System Has Failed. Good album. Not quite as good as Rust In Peace, but still kick-ass.

Not sure, but the Greatist Hits cd comes out this week.

The real reason I want to get it is fro the DVD that comes with the limited edtion. Theirs like six or seven music videos, plus a live show with the RIP era lineup.

After hearing of this dvd, I'm going to pick it up this weekend. I'd love to see how Megadeth is live.

Speaking of metal revolutionizing. Who do you think revolutionized it the most? Besides Black Sabbath, I'd say Iron Maiden because they sparked the most controversy with the 'satanic' imagery and whatnot. This only made them more popular in my opinion...

my most influential bands...

coroner, black sabbath, kiss, death, obituary, iron maiden, slayer,

and um, sh*t, i hate the last one now so i wont bother mentioning them...

If you want hands-down Thrash/Speed Metal, acquire their first release, The Ultra-Violence.

yeah thats probably the best one but i didnt hear it until after i got into the others lol,

i just like the wierdness of frolic, havent heard it in quite a while though.

speaking of thrash,

i took a few steps back and have been listening to some of my favorite thrash albums lately.

if you havent heard them check them out...

exodus - fabulous disaster,

anthrax - among the living (the only one i liked by them)

testament - the new order

slayer- hell awaits,

megadeth- so far, so good, so what

dark angel - leave scars,

sacred reich - ignorance,

overkill - taking over,

nuclear assault- survive,

DRI- four of a kind...

theres more but thats all i can think of this early in the morn.

It's funny to see Kerry King before he decided to be bald.

lol, you nooblet.

i still think king looks odd being bald with tats on his head.

i always think of him balding with hair,

like the old vhs i have " combat tour- the ultimate revenge"

and the old seasons in the abyss videos...

I was at this other forum I go too, and they were talking about hell fest. and someone posted this from the website.

DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! June 29, 07:03PM

Your damn right PUBLIC ENEMY is playing hellfest. Chuck D., Flava Flav and Professor Grif will all be at Hellfest 2005 in full effect! If you know anything youll know that P.E. has a message that synonomous with hardcore ideals, they just happen to express is from a hip hop point of view. P.E. was as ground breaking and innovative as they were creative and unrelenting. A message of truth and positivity with some of the best beats, hooks and rhymes ever laid to tape. YA HEARD. We are so stoked to have one of the greatest hip hop groups ever to make Hellfest 2005 one of the handful of shows to be played this year. GET INTO IT!! -THE HELLFEST TEAM

Hey, I'm just posting to say about my bastard cousin and his views towards heavy metal etc.

Today he told me he had written 3 heavy metal songs for the guitar and so I went to hear them. Seeing as he is more of a funk man and I'm a heavy metal fan I thought this was strange so anyway I went to his house and he played what he called heavy metal music. This is the part that pissed me off. He put his hand on the 12th fret of his guitar and turned the distortion up to full. Then he just swore randomly at me and said that thos were hus heavy metal songs. Has anyone else had thjis problem?

Smells like bullsh*t. There are many posers these days that pretend to be metal heads, but don't know a damn thing about metal. For example, my friend who considers Slipknot a "heavy metal" band.

Some new information on the upcoming In Flames album!

6/23/2005 - IN FLAMES - "Come Clarity", and more...

Yes ladies and gentlemen the album´s done, when it comes to the music that is we still have to do the cover, booklet etc. Once again we like to say how pleased we are with the result and we can´t wait until you get your hands on the finished product.

This is the 8:th IF album and it´s awesome to feel, as excited as it was our first. The name of the album will NOT be "Crawl Through Knives", instead it will be "Come Clarity".

Anyway, here´s the final tracklisting:

01. Take This Life

02. Leeches

03. Reflect The Storm

04. Dead End

05. Scream

06. Come Clarity

07. Vacuum

08. Pacing Death´s Trail

09. Crawl Through Knives

10. End Of Things

11. Our Infinite Struggle

12. Vanishing Light

13. Your Bedtime Story Is Scaring Everyone

Come Clarity? What the f*ck? Crawl Through Knives was a badass album name.

I also have some information on the new Dew-Scented release as well.

NEWs: ''ISSUE VI'' release date info, promo MP3 available, etc.

Good afternoon everybody!

Summer is kickin' in and the release date for "Issue VI" is drawing nearer, so we wanted to give you some updated news about the upcoming album.....

The most important one? Please check out the track "Rituals Of Time" off "Issue VI" by clicking HERE or via http://www.nuclearblast.de.

Hope that serves as a nice taster for the upcoming album?!

We have also a new band photo.

From left to right: Alex - Bass, Leif - Vocals, Hendrik - Guitars and Uwe - Drums.

Apart from the already confirmed June 20th street date for Europe (as limited edition CD+DVD and then CD version), the "Issue VI" album is confirmed to be released June 22nd in Japan via Soundholic Records including the bonus track "Full-Blown Revenge", July 1st in Brazil / South America via Nuclear Blast and last but not least July 12th in North America via Nuclear Blast including the special bonus track "The Torrent".

We can also proudly announce that there will be a special limited edition of "Issue VI" on vinyl via Benihaana Records (who also did vinyl editions for last releases of bands like Further Seems Forever, As I Lay Dying, Diecast, etc.) to be released apparently as bloodred wax version on June 24th (at the "Issue VI" release show in Braunschweig, Germany). Pretty cool, huh?!

Please check Benihaana's website for pre-orders and make sure to also check out their other bands, which are also definitely worth your support!

http://www.beniihana-records.com

We added a new date to the concert-list this Summer: Badia Rocks Festival in Italy (Tirol) on July 15th (with bands like Axxis, Atrocity, Metal Church, Leaves' Eyes, etc.). Check out:

http://www.badiarocks.com

On the topic of live shows: We had a great time over at Minneapolis Mayhem festival in the US earlier this month. Thanks to everybody we met there...we look forward to seeing you back in November on the coast to coast North American tour (more details on this soon!). Actually, due to the commitment for the next US tour, we had to again cancel our previously confirmed appearance on the IX Metal Forces Festival in November. Sorry about that...we will appear on the 2006 edition instead! Oh and yeah, of course, we are soon to confirm European touring for later 2005 as well. More details soon!

What else? New merchandise is in the works right now and will also be presented on this site soonest. Next touring? We are leaving for Japan later this week, so things are busy right now! We are really looking forward to seeing our japanese friends again. It's been a while...

Oh, and don't forget to get pre-sale tickets for our "Issue VI" release show in Braunschweig's Fireabend on June 24th if you are from Northern Germany. We hope it will be a packed, intense show...

Keep it heavy!

Dew-Scented

The new Dew-Scented track sounds f*cking awesome. Finally, somebody is dishing up a bucketload of classic thrash!

And, last but certainly not least, we have some Destruction information on the upcoming album as well as the coverart!

Inventor of Evil

2005-06-08

We're happy to present you the new cover artwork today! Take a first look at it in our gallery!

The headbanging anthem "the Allance of Hellhoundz" will be one of the highlights of the album. This song will feature ten !!! different Metalsingers from all HM styles singing together for tolerance and unity of the "scene"!

Here are the "Hellhoundz" involved: Biff (Saxon), Doro, Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir), Speed (Soilwork), Paul Di Anno (ex-Iron Maiden/Killers), Messiah (Candlemass), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), Peavy (Rage), Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy/Pain) and of course DESTRUCTION frontman Schmier!

Expect a total classic! More news and soundfiles soon!

So stay tuned...

In Flames is labeled as "Melodic Death Metal."

Really? Thanks for the information!

In Flames hasn't been melodeath since Colony or even Whoracle.
