Wow, thank you so very much, Mattalac, for your huge contribution to this thread.

Fistful Of Metal is one of my all-time favorite thrash albums along with Testament The Leegacy and OverKill Taking Over.

What I've been listening to lately:

Kreator - Violent Revolution

OverKill - KillBox13

Mudvayne - The End of All Things to Come

Metallica - ...And Justice For All

On a note about ...And Justice For All: The last time I have heard ANY track from this album was over a year ago and when I first had this album, I thought it sucked.

But now, since I have been meaning to rebuy it, I finally have.

And I have to say, this album, first to last, back to front and side to side, COMPLETELY kicked my ass this time around. I love it. This album, is by far, the definitive Metallica album.

I've always thought And Justice For All... was metallicas best album except for the fact that theres almost no bass on it.

Yeah, it's werid how Newsted's bass was so undefined on And Justice considering how awesome it sounded on Garage Days.

As I've said, Dyer's Eve is my favorite Metallica song. And Justice is definatly a great candidate for best Metallica album. Hard for me to say since all the albums up to that point have their own personality. With songs like Orion and Leper Messiah, Puppets is arguably their most wicked album, but And Justice clearly beats it in the anger/brutality department.

For the fans of Fistful, you might want to check out Armed and Dangerous to see Belladona's take of Turbin's vocal stylings. I find it very impressive that he can even come close. Metal Thrashing Mad is piercing.

I got Slayer's Divine Intervention recently, and all the tracks end half a second early. I got the Metallica album "...And justice for all" and for some of the tracks it does the same thing.

Oh well, still good music. This happen to anyone else?

Mohawk-Wearing Teen Survives Scalping

Wednesday February 9, 2005 9:46 AM

By REBECCA BOONE

Associated Press Writer

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A member of a punk clique scalped another member apparently as punishment for her disrespectful behavior toward women, police said. The victim, a 16-year-old girl whose hair was cut in a mohawk, survived.

Authorities are searching for Marianne Dahle, 26, who allegedly tied the teen up and used a 4-inch knife to cut away the crown and back portion of her scalp. A felony arrest warrant accuses Dahle of aggravated battery, which carries a maximum sentence of 14 years.

Dahle was visiting Kirkham Hot Springs in central Idaho with the girl and a friend when the attack occurred Jan. 18. The teen spent two weeks in the hospital and is now recovering at home.

Authorities did not release the girl's name, though she identified herself as Sheila to Boise TV station KTVB.

``When I say this gal was scalped, she was truly scalped,'' said Bill Braddock, chief deputy of Boise County. ``The top of her head, her hair, was completely cut off. The motive, as near as we've been told by witnesses, was retaliation for acting in a way that the adult perceived as being offensive to women as a gender.''

Braddock said the victim, Dahle and another teenage girl who witnessed the attack were long-term acquaintances who belonged to the same clique. The victim's mohawk hair cut may have played a role in the assault, he said.

``In their punk group, wearing a mohawk is a sign of being a punker, and according to their creed if you disrespect women you are not allowed to wear a mohawk,'' he said. ``But I don't think the victim had any idea in the world she was going to be scalped.''

Sheila, who is from Nampa, near Boise, told KTVB that she thought the woman was going to cut her hair.

``Why would they do something like this to me?'' Sheila asked. ``I thought they were my friends.''

Doctors grafted skin from Sheila's thigh to cover the inches-long circular patch of missing skin on her crown. She has one operation left. She wears hats to hide the healing patch of skin.

The group is not a gang, Braddock said, though they had at least some established rules of behavior.

``It was an act of revenge. I view this as a case where an adult female is using predatory control - both psychological and sexual - toward juvenile victims. There are definitely sexual overtones to this crime,'' Braddock said.

No drugs or alcohol were involved in the attack, Braddock said.

Police were alerted after Dahle allegedly dropped the teen off at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise, Braddock said. Sheila said her face and body were covered with blood when Dahle left her at the hospital.

Authorities recovered the scalp, which had been left behind at the hot springs, but doctors were unable to reattach it, Braddock said.

The Kirkham Hot Springs, about 70 miles northeast of Boise, are popular with campers and hikers, but visitors during midweek in the winter can count on near total seclusion, Braddock said.

The case has been difficult to investigate because it has taken deputies time to win the trust of witnesses and friends of the victim. Some witnesses are afraid of retaliation.

``Everybody in this case is very fragile and they're worried about how they're going to be judged by their peers,'' Braddock said. ``I have to be very protective of my victim and others who are cooperating.''

Braddock said he only agreed to discuss the incident so the public could help authorities find Dahle. Police would not release many details for fear it would harm the prosecution's case.

Looks like the punk music scene is gonna get some flak for this.

Stupid tomahawk throwin' natives. Punks.

I'm starting to get pissed off. There are no shows coming near me anytime soon. Lamb of God is coming here in April, but that's with Slipknot and Shadows Fall...and I don't want to pay $30 just to see one band.

I need to rebuy the second and third Chimaira CD's because they both got royally f*cked. Pass Out got scratched to bejesus and back and Impossibility was cracked...so in anger, I snapped the bastard in half. So I guess I'll be rebuying Pass Out for the THIRD time.

As far as new CD's go, I haven't bought any in quite awhile, not since December actually, in which I purchased Machine Heads "Through The Ashes Of Empire". Which is actually a very good CD, considering their past f*ck ups.

Yeah, I know what you mean. But I heard that Lamb of God might be playing some shows on their own, even though I can seem to find it on their site. I'm hoping anyway.

CD-wise, I've been listening to Dying Fetus, Stop at Nothing, a lot lately.

When I heard about that tour, I almost shat myself. But the closest their coming to me is in Chicago...which is an hour away. I only went to Chicago to see a concert once, and that was Opeth...and I'm not driving down there again. But maybe if my girlfriend will drive.......

I got scheming to do now....

So anyway, I've listened to "Chaos Without Prophecy" at least a hundred times already and I'm still not the least bit sick of it...

Not to mention all the gear they were and those giant boots made of Mammoth that they skinned themselves. Plus they're always piss drunk and angry. Kind of like the Irish.

I was at amazon reading some reviews for Reign In Blood by Slayer and found this.

What's the big deal? Slayer was just like any other dissolved 80s metal band. Fans from back in the day listen to Slayer now and just laugh at themselves. Just stick with Slipknot, they have more talent and they are the heaviest band alive.

Here are more of these "reviews"

Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Slayer... bow down!, February 12, 2005

Britney Spears is one of the most talented artists ever. This cd is the album that started it all. She has one of the greatist voices ever, so you don't need no Queen, Doors, or Maiden cds anymore....

Thank god for talented artists like Britney Spears, Ashlee Simpson, and Kelly Osbourne.

Avoid POSER bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Pantera, Exoduds, Overkill, Exhorder, Judas Priest, Iron maiden, Sepultura, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, Ac/dc, In Flames, Children of Bodom, Bathory, Venom, At the Gates, Opeth, Arch Enemy, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, Guns N Roses, Suicidal Tendencies, Black Flag, and Alice in Chains.

I hope there honestlly joking.

Slipknot best ever? God. These people are so close-minded, you can't even enlighten them. It's sad.

EDIT: He has to be joking. Venom, Bathory, Exodus, OverKill? A Normal person sure as hell wouldn't know THESE bands.

I just got 1349's Beyond the Apocalypse, and I have even more respect for chaotic black metal now.

Good call. However my favorite from the 49 is still "Liberation", can stop playing Riders of the Apocalypse.
