I like Symphony X too. Along those lines, Andromeda is very good (get "Extension Of The Wish") and then there's Tony McAlpine's project, Planet X, which is actually even more dazzling and techical than Andomeda or Symphony X except that it has no vocals.

New singer announcement

 

I'd like to take this moment to welcome to our ranks Rob Dukes as our new vocalist. He has been absolutely crushing in practice and only gets stronger every day. I know some of you will want details, i.e. what bands has he been in, ect., but I'll have to get back to you on that one. I've heard some of his old demo stuff, but he is a virtual unknown. But he is going to blow peoples minds. He does incredible justice to both Paul and Zetro's material but when you hear the new sh*t you won't believe your ears. Totally crushing! To all who sent in their demos and such I'd like to thank each and every one of you for taking the time. But now our search is over. Rob just happened to end up my guitar tech for the Megadeth tour after things didn't work out with my first tech. Rob was refered to me by a friend at the Hollwood show and the rest is history. Divine intervention if you will! We will be recording some demos of a few new songs next week and if everything stays on track we will be in the studio recording the next album in April.

ANTHRAX: BELLADONNA And BUSH To Share Vocal Duties For Holland's DYNAMO Festival - Jan. 28, 2005

Former ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna and his replacement, John Bush, will share vocal duties for the band's special 25-year anniversary concert at Holland's Dynamo Open Air festival on May 7 in Hellendoorn, it was announced earlier today. Also newly confirmed for the festival are OBITUARY, MASTERPLAN and MERCENARY. The billing for the event is now shaping up as follows:

Dynamo Open Air 2005 takes place on May 7 in Hellendoorn, in the east of Holland, 15 km west of Almelo. Tickets will cost 45 euros in advance and 50 euros on the day.

 

ANTHRAX are said to be planning a series of concerts featuring Belladonna and Bush this summer, including an appearance at the 10th anniversary edition of Ozzfest. Sharon Osbourne is believed to have promised ANTHRAX a slot at this year's Ozzfest but only on the condition that they perform with the classic lineup that was responsible for some of the band's most successful albums.

 

A reunion of the Belladonna-era lineup has been rumored for quite some time, with SHADOWS FALL drummer Jason Bittner going so far as to say that Benante admitted that such a tour was in the works in a conversation with Bittner last month immediately following the public memorial for slain DAMAGEPLAN/ex-PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott.

 

In his regular online column, dubbed "Blast Beat", Benante jokingly dismissed the rumors with the following statement:

 

"I keep hearing about this 'reunion' [with former vocalist Joey Belladonna]. I guess things got a bit outta hand. We were talking about doing a KISS reunion. We're all going to wear KISS makeup and go out and do a KISS reunion tour. I'll be Eric Singer doing Peter Criss and YES, I'll also be singing 'Black Diamond' and 'Beck' (haha). I need to figure out a way to play in 8-inch heels. I think that's how the rumors started, maybe it was Jason from [sHADOWS FALL]? Who knows what evil thoughts lurk in the minds of... never mind."
