That is freaky alright. I've never been a big fan of Pantera but I hate to think of where the Texas/Louisiana scene would be now if they had never existed.

What kind of asshole inbred mother f*cker would run up to Dime and shoot him 4 times in the head infront of all those fans.

Straying away from all the commotion of the recent events.....last night I went to go see Cradle of Filth. Wasn't as great as the other time I saw them. Played 3 new songs, and played a lot of older sh*t. I thought it would've been better than the last, but it was really nothing special. I was sort of let down.

But Arch Enemy f*ckin owned ass. Ever since I saw them at Slayer last year, I've wanted to see them again. They only played 5 songs at Slayer, and it was f*ckin amazing. This time was different...they had a longer set list, and of course the performance was f*ckin amazing.

The other bands sucked ass of course. (Bleeding Through and some other band.) Himsa didn't show, so some other band played....and they sucked anyway.

Arch Enemy has a freaky ass girl doing all the singing, and her voice is deeper than mine.

I'm not a big fan of the new Arch Enemy, but the old Arch Enemy ruled.

Agreed. The newer Arch Enemy isn't all that great, but it is certainly better than many other bands that are out there. Besides, Angela has the best female metal vocals anyway. But even if you don't like the new stuff that much, you still have to see them live, you won't be disappointed.

The ONLY band that sounds exactly as awesome and thrashy as they did when they first started out is Kreator.

out of the dark, into the light was a great kreator ep, the live tracks kicked ass.

the dimebag news is sad.

i was lucky enough to live in ft. worth texas in 88,

so i got to see them at joes garage, a small armpit of a bar.

so much better than a huge show.

they went on tour with slayer right after and became incredibly popular,

with good reason.

before long i see phil on headbangers ball with rob zombie making fun of rikki rachman (sp?), my favorite episode.

i didnt care for the last couple albums though.

I just learned something about Superjoint Ritual. They got their name from an album that many in the black metal community consider to be the quintessential album from that time (1991). The album is called "A Blaze In The Northern Sky". It's an album I've owned for almost two years and I'm only just now start to really appreciate it. I've been listening to it all weekend and so I started to look at the lyrics (great stuff) and noticed in the last song "The Pagan Winter" there's a line that reads "United by Hatred: The final Superjoint Ritual" which led me to this website:

http://www.darkthrone.info/id106.html

Royal Carnage: He must really like DARKTHRONE though. The name, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, he must have gotten it from your song "The Pagan Winter."

Fenriz (drummer/lyricist or Darkthrone): Yes, well he said that he did take it from there.

Actually thats pretty weird cause phil had a black metal project called eibon and fenriz was in it along with Satyr of satyricon and Killjoy from Necrophagia.

Well I listened to some more In Flames, and I have to say, Moonshield is definitely a good song.

@ Uno - lol, this really shows how people can have different taste in music. All the songs I like from In Flames you don't have an AWESOME by, but all the songs I hate from In Flames you do have an AWESOME by tounge.gif

...

So how about Children of Bodom?

Hate Crew Deathroll c'mon.

Sup fellas. I just wanted to peek my head here and say hello. I've been gettin more interested into this genre lately. My best friend's brother is in a local band and we've gone to see him in a couple shows along with some other bands here in NC. I never thought I would be in to this music but I'm really feelin it. I'm really into this local stuff right now, but am tryin to explore some more well-known bands. Out.

Meh, doesn't keep me from thinking any more of that white power-pushing, burnout of a worthless singer Phil Anselmo.

Slicky's a metalhead now? Awesome.

I wish I could say Milwaukee's local scene was any good. I don't mean to sound egotistical...but I think my bands the only great local band here...besides the one we'll be touring with... confused.gif
