Man... this is the most pathetic metal thread I've ever seen. So much nu metal (yeah, I hate it too, suck on it).

 

I skipped over most of this thread, it was hard to find the good posts amidst so many bad ones.

 

Any fans of Death, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Arsis, Carnal Forge, The Haunted, Jag Panzer, Darkest Hour, etc.? I'm not a fan of the "jump the f*ck up!" style of metal that seems a little popular these days.

 

And now looking back I can see Megadeth fans in here... there is hope after all! Anyone going to the DC date of the Megadeth fall tour?

I've heard that The Haunted's rEVOLVEr is a great step up from the mediocre One Kill Wonder, though I've yet to hear it. Hopefully I get it soon. Have you yet?

I kinda liked them....I havent heard any of thier stuff in about 3 or 4 years though.

 

About GWAR....I heard they were coming by, dunno about Slayer but id GLADLY see either.

Does anyone else notice that SoD's album, Speak English or DIE! is like, a speed metal masterpiece? It's so amazing, I swear.

 

I have also realized that OverKill isn't as good as I have been thinking for a long time. I'm starting to get bored with them. I guess some of their stuff isn't thrashy enough or it is just kind of like 'blah'....

 

On the topic of Megadeth...

 

What do you guys think we can expect from Dangerous Dave and Co.? I heard it's supposed to be a mix (or happy medium) of Rust In Peace and The World Needs A Hero.

Since you're a new member I'll give you some more advice: learn who you are talking too. The people who posted on the current page (other than you) are the core members. I doubt you can find one post from any of those people in support of nu-metal. If you do find such a post then there's a button on the top right of the post called "quote". Click it and make a comment. Otherwise I recommend you don't come around here anymore as you've already lost all credability.

From the opening track 'Blackmail the Universe' which in the beginning demonstrated a simulation of Air Force One being destroyed with planes from the Middle East, all the way to 'Tears in a Vial', this album is extremely good. Mustaine's and Poland's solos, sound amazing and highly technical and the rythmes and the feeling you get from the music and riffs are just amazing. The lyrics and the topics and most of all, the cover and sleeve art, are all kick-ass and top-notch. The riffs really stand out for me too, very 80s and very cool. They may not always be fast, but they are definitely awesome! If you like Megadeth, old or/and new, go and get this!

Actually, you guys say The System Has Failed sounds like Rust In Peace, but I think it sounds like Countdown to Extinction - and I f*cking LOVE Countdown to Extinction.

 

I haven't heard Rust In Peace, but I plan on upgrading my Megadeth collection hardcore, starting with Rust In Peace, So Far, So Good... So What!, Youthanasia and The World Needs a Hero.
