A lot of people are going to come in here and say that song sucks but I think its a great rock song. I don't care. I like that song.

A kid I know at school stormed the stage at our school concert after an Evanessence cover by these two girls with a different drummer and the guitarist still plugged in on stage with his full stack and they went into that song. That was pretty sick.

I recently got back into Iced Earth (What the hell was I thinking, leaving) Anyway, they have alot of cds (I have Horror show, Dark Saga, Night of the stormrider and something wicked this way comes.Name the best albums/songs, so I can lookout for them, also adding on to the dragonforce chat, I wish the lyrics/lyricist would change, they have great guitar.

Also, I have Opeth's Ghost reveries, but it doesnt seem too good, which of their albums is greater? Also, who else likes Satyricon? Nothing like Norwegan Death Metal.

I personally prefer their first 4 albums (Orchid, Morningrise, My Arms Your Hearse and Still Life). And Opeth are damn awesome live, I saw them a month of two ago, absolutely amazing.

Horror Show:

-Wolf

-Damien

-Dragon's Child

-Dracula

That whole album is awesome though.

Something Wicked This Way Comes:

-Burning Times

-Melancholy

-Watching Over Me

-Stand Alone

-1776

Dark Saga:

-Violate

-The Hunter

-I Died For You

Tribute To The Gods is a pretty good album too. Their covers of Highway To Hell, Number Of The Beast, Burning For You, Screaming For Vengeance and Long Way To The Top are pretty great.

As for the Unholy Alliance Tour, I won't be going as I couldn't get tickets. I'll try to go to The Sounds Of The Underground tour, mainly for GWAR, In Flames and Behemoth. Cannibal Corpse too.

Picked up the new Sadus and new Sodom today. Really suprised me seeing both of them in FYE.

Haha yeah, isn't that lovely? I picked up a copy of Sanctuary - Into The Mirror Black, and Flotsam - Doomsday at FYE. I couldn't believe they were there.

For Iced Earth suggestions, I second what Scarface said, except I'd drop Tribute to the Gods and get Burnt Offerings instead. Though really you can't go wrong with Iced Earth.

Oh, and you bastards and your awesome tours. Why can't this country ever get any of the big tours or anything?

Actually, scratch that. That entire album is really awesome. I Died for You and Violate are favorites, though.

I don't have the album actually I just had to reccomend those songs. I want that one next. Is the album art in the booklet as awesome as the art in the Horror Show one?

I find it way better than the last few album covers. It reminds me more of the Seasons in the Abyss cover.

I second EJizz. That just looks, eh. But I suppose if their music can fit it, then we're good to go.

Anyone here a big fan of Chimaira? Like, have every song of theirs? Need a little help. wow.gif

Whats your guys opinion on Type-O Negative? I can't quite make up my mind, some of their stuff is pretty cool. My girlfriend lent me their cd when I asked for some Moonspell style black/gothic metal music but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for.

Can you guys give any reccomendations as to gothicy style music similar to Moonspell?

Meh, it's not bad. Certainly better than their last few. Dunno if I'll buy this one. I haven't yet heard any of their latest stuff.

I personally think the new Slayer art rules. Might see about getting the limited edition Cult single, or breaking down and getting that Hot Topic exclusive EP.

It's really hard to take slayer seriously after this.

To honor the symbolic date of June 6, 2006 — the sixth day of the sixth month of the sixth year; as in 666, the "number of the beast" or Anti-christ in the Bible's Book of Revelations — SLAYER will release an exclusive t-shirt (see design here), limited to 666 units and only available at the band's official web store. The t-shirt is priced $16.66 and can be ordered at this location.

As previously reported, Warner Music Germany has uploaded the cover artwork for the new SLAYER album, tentatively due on July 25 via American Recordings/Warner Bros. Records. Check it out at this location.

SLAYER's still-untitled follow-up to "God Hates Us All", which was released on Sept. 11, 2001, is the group's first new album with their four original members since 1990's "Seasons in the Abyss". In a recent interview with MTV, SLAYER frontman Tom Araya said about the new album, "It's fast — maybe faster than anything we've done before. No one's going to be disappointed. It's going to be brutal." A snippet of a new SLAYER track, entitled "Cult", is available at the band's official web site, www.slayer.net.

SLAYER will preview their first album in five years with a five-song EP, "Eternal Pyre", exclusively available at Hot Topic stores. The CD will include "Cult", the lone new song the band plans to play live on the upcoming Unholy Alliance Tour.

Araya's two-hour May 5 minor gall-bladder surgery forced SLAYER to suspend the June 6 launch of this summer's Unholy Alliance Tour, which also features LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED. The trek will instead kick off June 15 in Camden, New Jersey, and run through July 26 in Denver.

Despite a previous announcement to the contrary, Amazon.com ***WILL NOT*** be selling a limited-editon (5,000 copies) SLAYER "Cult" single. A SLAYER management representative has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the single will ONLY be sold through Hot Topic stores. All Amazon.com pre-orders have apparently been cancelled and the money will be refunded.

I planned on getting that single, but thats pretty much f*cked now. The sample clip with lyrics is ok. It's got a real Dittohead feeling imo, but the lyrcis were meh. Sounds like Kerry wrote that song.

That artwork is totally Reign In Blood + South Of Heaven. They probably used the same graphic designer as who did those albums.

Anyway, is this album still going to be released on 6/6/06? Also, to make the price more fitting, it should have been $6.66.

I'm looking at the new Sodom, Sadus and maybe Venom.

New album comes out on July 25th. The tour was gonna start then, but Tom had that surgery or something. Oh, and new sadus and Sodom rule by the way. I listened to some clips of the new Venom when I bought the Sadus and Sodom at FYE, and it too sounded good.

Sadus + Chuck Billy = ownage.

Hey Uno, is the last Death Angel cd worht getting? I decided to watch HBB tonight, and caught the vid for Thicker than Blood and thought that song ruled.

I liked it. Thicker Than Blood is a great song. 5 Steps of Freedom is another kickass song.

BTW the album name is the Art of Dying if you didn't know.

I know, just didn't feel like typing it out. Thad, have you got to hear anything from Act III? It's Death Angels last album before they broke up in the early 90's. It's really good, listening to it right now. Seemingly Endless Time is a great song.

Good stuff, better than the Art of Dying. AoD isn't bad by any means, but I like Act III's style a little more - more of a thrashy feel.

I still can't find either of their first 2 albums, though.

Death Angel - Archives and Artifacts Includes Death Angels Kill As One Demo(produced by Kirk Hammet) and other assorted demos, The Ultra Violence, Frolic Through The park, and a DVD of there videos and some live stuff.

Or you could browse Ebay and look for the original Enigma releases.

Eh... The Art Of Dying is alright. It's got a couple of cool thrash tracks but for the most part alot of it sounds like generic alternative metal. I mean it's not a particularly bad album, it's just not thrashy.
