Well sh*t.

Blabbermouth must have f*cked up posting the Kreator/Napalm Death dates because the one in Seattle was on the tenth. Makes me sad. Though, that Nevermore/Hate Eternal show is coming up. I'm sure my friend who I was going to see Kreator with will go, he likes Nevermore, and I'm sure he will dig Hate Eternal.

I'll probably see you there then.

Ok I dont get it, how can one enjoy a band such as "Kreator"? I just heard "Ripping Corpse" and I'll admit its the only song of theirs I have heard but to me it was just fast drumming & aggressive lyrics, I could hardly understand them... whats their best song I should listen to?

I think Slayer have a few good songs, although I have only heard a few, "Here Comes The Pain" is very good IMO. Is slayer classified as Metal?? forgiva me I dont know sh*t about metal. ~SAN

Unlike Digital Murders, I won't give you an answer that doesn't help ya.

Metal is subjective. Personally, I like Kreator's stuff. Alot. But hey, maybe that's not your thing. Try telling us some other bands you like and we can reccommend stuff for you.

Heh, I don't even listen to the lyrics. It's about the guitar for me.

Slayer is quite possibly the best thrash (thrash is a type of metal, BTW) band ever besides Metallica and Megadeth. Seriosuly. Their best albums are probably South of Heaven, Reign in Blood, and Seasons in the Abyss. My favorite song from them is Criminally Insane.

I would have to disagree with slayer being the best thrash band. I would say Exodus is the best thrash band ever because thats what they started out playing and still play to this day they haven't sold out or watered down there sound at all. People seem to forget the fact that Slayer were a cheesy hair band doing def leppard covers before thrash got big and they decided to jump on the bandwagon.

Well, I'm no expert.

But Slayer is an awesome band. Except their new stuff.

Exodus is incredible too.

I can understand Ripping Corpse just fine.

I recommend the whole Pleasure To Kill album.

And Slayer just did Maiden and Priest covers when they were Dragonslayer. It was Pantera that was some sh*tty hair band.

I also picked up Sound of White Noise by Anthrax today.

Someone told me that Slayer stands for Satan Laughing As You Eternally Rot. I was like "so?" lol. They still have awesoem (older) music.

Random question for Grooveh: How long does FYE take to oreder a CD? Do I hafta put a downpayment or some sh*t? Is it worth it?

Whoa, how could I forget about Death Angel?

They're f*cking great too.

I don't think I'd put them over early Metallica, though. Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning are like, my favorite albums ever.

Oh, and Anthrax. Them too.

Hair metal? Did you even heard their old sh*t? My favorite Pantera song is from their Power Metal album, shieet nigga.

I wouldn't even include Metallica in the top 5 thrash metal bands. Most famous, true, but thanks to selling out.

Sir Smoke-A-Lot

Eight of rock's hottest bands have contributed to a special re-recording of METALLICA's "Master of Puppets" in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the classic album's release and the 25th anniversary of the magazine Kerrang! The CD will be given away free with Kerrang! issue 1102, which goes on sale April 5. Magazines with the special CD will be available in the usual spots outside of the U.K. — at your favorite record store or book store if they normally import Kerrang!

"Remastered" features exclusive recordings by BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, TRIVIUM, FIGHTSTAR, MACHINE HEAD, FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, CHIMAIRA, MASTODON and MENDEED, with the sleeve notes for the album written by none other than Lars Ulrich. "It's awesome to think that some of you guys weren't even born when we recorded 'Master Of Puppets'!" laughed Lars. "When we started thinking about Kerrang! honoring 'Master of Puppets' with this tribute album, and saw the artwork and the line-up of bands we realized it was a big deal. We're honored that it's a record that's perceived as a milestone and a record that's been so inspiring to so many people, both fans and young bands like TRIVIUM and BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. We're as excited to hear this as you guys are!"

"Remastered" track listing:

MACHINE HEAD - "Battery"

TRIVIUM - "Master Of Puppets"

MENDEED - "The Thing That Should Not Be"

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE - "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)"

CHIMAIRA - "Disposable Heroes"

FIGHTSTAR - "Leper Messiah"

MASTODON - "Orion"

FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND - "Damage, Inc."

Wow. I'm just going to dismiss everything other than Mastodon and Chimaira. I'll probably download those or something. If not I'll get that Kerrang if they don't boost up the price cause of this.

Uh, I honestly can't picture FFAF doing "Damage Inc.". Then again, Metallica is becoming one of those bands everyone wants to do cover of, like Depeche Mode.

I've come to the conclusion that "metalcore" really doesn't exist, except with Thrash and crossover bands, which truly do incorporate both metal and hardcore punk elements into their music.

Yeah, "it does have some relation to metal but it's not quite there."

Oh man, I was talking to this girl who sat at our lunch table today. She started talking about metal. She goes, did you see the lineup for Ozzfest this year, it's amazing. I told her this year was sh*t altogether except for one band. She said, not Bleeding Through.

Then I went on how Bleeding Through are pussies and asked her if she listens to anything heavier. She said Dimmu...

Well if you play Ozzfest you must be metal, right?....Right?..... icon13.gif

I like Mastodon for a lot of their instrumental sh*t. But the vocals are completely terrible. I can't stand it.

I definately listen to them while getting stoned.
