Can someone tell me the good news in that? This is the guy that invented rap metal.

good news? It'l be better than st. anger, And Almost as good as Reign In Blood.

No were near Reign In Blood. Metallica have to atleast right something decent, but atleast with Rubin, he might tell them when something sucks ass. Something Bob Rock never seemed to do.

True, Ruben produced Seasons in the Abyss and Reign in Blood, but he also produced all of Slayer's new stuff which was hardly good. Hell he produces the likes of System Of A Down and I'm expecting 'tallica's next album to sound like their sh*t.

Ruben also produced Shakira and Justin Timberlake. He's a tool just like any other mainstream producer, who just goes after artists with potential to sell. f*ck him.

Those Corpse samples were sweet. I liked Corpsegrinder's vocals a bit, and I see they must be running out of the overly gory song titles now.

Yeah I found those Corpse samples earlier today and they are indeed awesome.

Also VENOM is releasing a new album, entitled 'Metal Black' in March 2006. And yes that is the most retarded album title of all time. There's a demo of the song 'ANTECHRIST' available for listening here.

The New Combat Records

Have any of you seen this sh*t? it is just sad. Remember a time when Combat was known for good music? Exodus, Dark Angel, Possessed, Death, the list goes on.

Tis sad.

Yeah thats pretty bad gone from metal to emo/screamo.

I don't know about the other two bands, but HORSE the Band certainly aren't emo or screamo.

They sound very modern on that new album, Antechrist maybe sounds most like older Venom, Darkest Realm sounds something like Slayer and rest of it 00's Heavy Metal. blink.gif

I'v heard like, two Venom songs. Welcome To Hell, Black Metal, sounded like a satanic Motorhead.

Anyways, Went in to FYE today, traded in the Last Action Hero soundtrack, Back In Black, For Those About To Rock, and Duran Duran's greatest hits cd. Looked for Enemy Of God by Kreator and Slave To The Grind by Skid Row, but they didn't have them, so I ordered Enemy Of God from FYE.

Yeah dude, I got the new Blind Guardian single, Fly. It's pretty cool, but it's no Nightfall in Middle Earth.

The Malaysian government is set to ban the country's "black metal" subculture after an Islamic council has declared it to be totally against the syariat, or Islamic principles. The government of Malaysia is now amending the law to allow government departments to act against the "black metal" culture.

There has been a lot of publicity in Malaysia about "black metal" (which often referred to any loud music listened to by youths in black T-shirts), connecting it to Satanism, apostasy and Judaism, and accusing followers of the subculture of doing everything from burning the Koran to drinking one's own blood mixed with goat blood, and claiming that concerts were also sex orgies and/or Satanic rituals. Much of the publicity came from tabloid newspapers which, other than being written in Malay, look uncannily similar to their Australian or British equivalents. Conservative Islamic clerics have been fighting against the "black metal" trend and have tried to have the subculture banned before, though seemingly without success; however, they did succeed in imposing requirements on touring bands such as requiring them to submit videotapes of performances to the government for approval and to wear "modest attire".

Goddamn, aren't we done with this whole "black metal = satanism" mentality? suicidal.gif

Yet another reason why America is better.

I think that's why any country not governed by religious beliefs are better.

And if I hear black metal = tr00 kvlt satanism, someone is going to pay.

Yeah, it's more like tr00 kvt paganism.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

Well, a lot of people in the black metal scene were either satanists (and antichristian), or pagans (and antichristian).

Their genres seem to be much more flexible than ours.

Awesome, Arcturus live DVD in the works, which should be good since I doubt they'd ever come here.

And a Runic album March 24h.

Runic are a really damn good Viking/folk/black metal group who only have a demo out, it's really bloody good.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

SLAYER To Team Up With LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM For U.S. Tour - Mar. 3, 2006

MTV.com is reporting that SLAYER will be teaming up with LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON, CHILDREN OF BODOM and THINE EYES BLEED for a two-month U.S. tour beginning on June 6. Dubbed the Unholy Alliance Tour, the trek will make stops in most major cities, although the actual routing of the run is still being fleshed out.

"It's been 18 months since we've toured in the States," SLAYER guitarist Kerry King told MTV.com. "People are going to be chomping at the bit to see us again. Our initial thought [with Unholy Alliance] was to go up against Ozzfest, because I think that tour's getting a little bit tired and I think people are tired of going out and getting sunburned for hours every summer. Every place we play is going to be indoors, with a good-sized lineup. We're certainly not going to try to make Ozzfest go away. We're just trying to offer an alternative."

On Tuesday (Feb. 28) SLAYER entered a Los Angeles studio, where they started recording the 11 songs that'll comprise their yet-untitled album. Rick Rubin (SLIPKNOT, SYSTEM OF A DOWN) will executive-produce the disc, while Josh Abraham (VELVET REVOLVER, STAIND) will turn the knobs. One of the songs has an official title ("Cult"), but all of them, King promised, will be devastatingly grim.

"There are definitely things you can't write about in SLAYER, and there are definitely things people expect you to write about," he said. "Everybody expects war, Satanism or anti-religious stuff — and this record's chock-full of that."

Most of the 11 songs SLAYER will record were written more than two years ago, the guitarist said. "We're hoping to do it old-school and record everything in like four weeks," he added. "We're ready. This is probably the most ready we've been since 'Seasons'. We've been spinning our wheels in rehearsals, just waiting for the green light on this thing. Now that we've got it, we're ready to go.

"It's definitely going to be a riff-fest," King continued. "There's riffs all over the place. As much time as we've had to work on it, there better be riffs on it. I think anybody who likes SLAYER, musically, is going to love it."

On Saturday, MTV2's "Headbangers Ball" will feature an exclusive interview with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya regarding the forthcoming album and the Unholy Alliance run.

Saw that on Blabbermouth. I'd only be interested in seeing Slayer and Mastodon.

And I'd like to say the new Kataklysm album has incredible artwork. Not sure how it is, but Revolver gave it a 2, but what do they now about anything good. Though, I have heard Crippled and Broken, and it was a kickass song.
