Just got back from Behemoth (and a few local bands, the furor f*cking rocked so hard)

Took Behemoth wayy to long to actually get on stage and play, but f*ck it was worth it. They pretty much played perfectly.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

You're lucky, when I saw them something was wrong. The bass was the loudest and you couldn't hear a lot.

Do they mostly play stuff from Demigod or do they play their old stuff too?

THE THUNDERLORDS: GWAR For Kids - Jan. 4, 2006

Jeff Miller of The Los Angeles Times has issued the following report:

Raging, distorted guitars. Power-drill drums. Songs about Vikings, screamed with lunacy by a singer in a horned helmet, wearing an evil look on his face.

Kids' stuff?

Actually, yes.

Billed as "the first heavy-metal band for kids," THE THUNDERLORDS (photo) are actually the secret identity of a mild-mannered video-game programmer and hard-core IRON MAIDEN fan named Alan Flores, who has dented the children's music charts worldwide with minute-long ragers like "Old Man Olaf" (a speed-metal take-off of "Old MacDonald"), "Table Manners for Vikings" and "I Like Dirt", which boasts the revelatory, sing-along lyrics "I like dirt / and dirt likes me."

Not surprisingly, Flores is an L.A. native who grew up in the city's metal scene. "I've played every crappy club in L.A. I've never played any of the good ones, but I played shows at Bob's Frolic III for two people," hesays.

Even before he had kids, he had the idea of spreading his love for metal to the younger members of his family. "My nephew went to a TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES show," he says. "It's crazy stuff — there's costumes, they're fighting, all sorts of crazy stuff. And I thought, 'That's kind of like GWAR for kids!' What came to my mind was, 'It'd be pretty cool if someone actually made GWAR for kids.'"

I love how all the true metalheads are all like "thats Gay" or "that sucks" What happened to having a little fun in metal?

Metal is serious business much like corpse paint and leather chaps biggrin.gif

Heh. "I Like Dirt" is on Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. I found that song to be extremely hilarious. cool.gif

Who can think of a better recruit method? One can tell kids who listen to this won't be bobbing their head like wiggers to 50 cent when they turn 12.

Funny how those 'tr00 metalheadz' claim that metal isn't a joke, while many metal bands ridicule themselves and each other more than anything. icon13.gif Some self-critique is in order.

The "tr00 metalheadz" should take a look at Immortal. I mean, if they are not trying to be cheesy in those videos on purpose, than I don't know.

Have you seen them live before? I might be getting ahead of myself since I haven't got the tickets yet, but I'd like to know what they are like live.

Holy sh*t, a band that I've seen that Moon hasn't! I'm excited. In fact, I've seen them twice and going for the third time this month when they come to Chicago, the day before Moon see's them.

I saw them with King Diamond and Behemoth the last time they were in Chicago and then I saw them with Dying Fetus when they came to Milwaukee.
