Vader doing Raining Blood is badass. So is Exodus's cover of Low Rider.

Man Exodus's cover of Lowrider was so bad ass. I really dug the Raining Blood cover by Vader too.

Hell yeah, more Call of the Wintermoon sh*t. Now all we need is some clips from that other video they did. I don't know how to spell it. confused.gif

Blashyrkh (mighty ravendark)?

I could download the video and rip some things from it, like I did with abbath in a well.

No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting.

If you do, make a clip of when Abbath runs across the rocks to Demonaz.

EDIT:

According to a posting on the web site of DECAPITATED's Polish record label Empire Records, bassist Martin and vocalist Adrian "Covan" Kowanek (ex-ATROPHIA RED SUN) left the Polish death metal band shortly after the completion of the group's recent North American tour. Although no official statement has yet been made, several unconfirmed Internet reports suggest that disagreements with the band's label, Earache Records, were at the heart of the duo's decision to quit the group. It is not presently clear how Martin and Covan's departures will affect DECAPITATED's previously announced North American trek with NILE, HYPOCRISY, SOILENT GREEN, RAGING SPEEDHORN and WITH PASSION, which is scheduled to kick off in January.

DECAPITATED's new album, "Organic Hallucinosis", is scheduled for release on February 7, 2006 (February 13 internationally) via Earache. Download a sample cut, "A Poem about an Old Prison", at this location. Additional music from the CD can be heard by clicking here. The follow-up to 2004's "The Negation" was recorded at Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland with producers Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawski and features artwork and layout by Seth (ROTTING CHRIST, PARADISE LOST).

RE-EDIT:

Earache Records has issued a statement rejecting rumors that vocalist Adrian "Covan" Kowanek (ex-ATROPHIA RED SUN) has left Polish death metallers DECAPITATED. "Covan will be joining DECAPITATED in January for their second U.S. tour in as many months, this time supporting NILE, and is fully committed to the band's plans to promote their forthcoming album, 'Organic Halucinosis', [to be] released on Earache on February 13th, 2006," the statement reads.

In the same statement, Earache confirmed the departure of bassist Martin from DECAPITATED's ranks. "No reasons have so far been given for the split," the statement adds.

Thank Odin.

lol at the avatars. I love Immortal, they take their sh*t so seriously and yet it looks so f*ckin' retarded.

Those avatars are hillarious. I'm at school and everyone is looking at me like in retarded since I can't help but laugh. I hope you don't mind if I slap one on.

EDIT - I'm watching that interview now. Its good.

EDIT - Watched the whole thing finally. It was pretty sweet to hear Akerfeldt talk about each album and all that.

Recommendation time!:

I've recently become obsessed with heavy melodic stuff (COB,Ensiferum, Running Wild, Maiden)

Can anyone recommend some other, possibly lesser known groups worthy of recognition?

Also:

Along with this, I've developed(rekindled) a love for prog rock/metal.

Same deal as above...(nothing obvious please...ie C&C, DT, pink floyd..ya know.) I already adore those.

And (since they have elements of both)

Opeth.

Norther (One of my favorites.)

Kalmah (Amazing, and not well known. Heroes to Us is one of their best songs.. <3)

Dimmu Borgir (Well known though)

Kalmah isn't well known? News to me.

They're good though, think of a heavier Children of Bodom with taste.

Good bands that are on the more melodic side of things that you should know and albums you should check out:

Quo Vadis - Day into Night, Defiant Imagination

Mors Principium Est - Inhumanity

Arsis - A Celebration of Guilt

Blind Guardian - Nightfall in Middle Earth, A Night at the Opera, Somewhere Far Beyond, Imaginations from the Other Side

Borknagar - The Archaic Course, Quintessense, Empiricism

Naglfar - Diabolical

Kamelot - The Black Halo

In Flames - Lunar Strain, The Jester Race, Whoracle, Black-Ash Inheritance

Dark Tranquillity - Skydancer

At the Gates - The Red in the Sky is Ours, Slaughter of the Soul

Dissection - The Somberlain, Storm of the Light's Bane

Emperor - In the Nightside Eclipse, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk

Opeth - Orchid, Morningrise, My Arms Your Hearse, Still Life

Diabolical Masquerade - Death's Design, Nightwork

Edge of Sanity - Crimson II, Purgatory Afterglow

Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe

Atheist - Piece of Time, Unquestionable Presence

Ok, I can't think of anymore off the top of my head.

I'm going to a local Battle of the Bands. Are there any chances I might actually listen to a real metal band, or just a slaught of pop-punk or post hardcore sh*t? But I guess sh*tty bands make it more fun. Only 3 bucks and the chick I wanna bang is going.

This Saturday I might go see Anthrax in NYC if there are any tickets available. God Forbid will be there too but I'm not to excited about that. Playing in the same location Danzig, Behemoth and Chimaira played.

f*ck, in February, Nile, Hypocrisy, Raging Speedhorn and Decapitated are coming to town...

Two weeks later, Kreator and Napalm Death. That one is 21+ though.

So many great concerts.

There was one around here. I didn't go, but I heard it was good. But then, it depends on taste. Most of the people I hang around with are, like me, mad for thrash. There's a local band by the name of Shredded, and I knew their old lineup pretty well. Chummy with the guys in the band. You know how it is. Shame that 2 of their members quit. They're still holding tryouts for new members. Anywhoo,, my point is, don't set your expectations too high, and you won't be dissapointed.

Keep metalcore melodeath ripoffs out of the metal thread.

Who was this aimed at?

I believe at Scar, for this.

9. A Vulgar Picture - The Black Dahlia Murder

I also recommend you go see Anthrax. Even if the support is weak, seeing Anthrax is just too good to pass up. It's amazing, they have been around, and they still have the same energy on stage as they did in the 80's.

Digital Murders

Well I scored some In Flames tickets for when they come to Chicago. Devildriver and Trivium are on the bill as well. I will hope all of the members of Trivium will come down with syphilis suddenly before the show. Devildriver has a few tunes that I love, but they're awesome live anyway. Saw the last few songs of a their set about a year ago when they were touring with Opeth.

Hopefully In Flames won't play too much new sh*t.

EDIT

Speaking of In Flames. Here's some more New sh*t. It all really f*ckin' sucks. So if you have dial-up or something, don't bother, it won't be worth it.

Hell yeah, the new In Flames is f*cking terrible, I'd say it's a little better than their last effort, but that's not hard. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy or even download Come Clarity, you will be disappointed.

Also, when Trivium play, if you want to spare your ears the torture of their rubbish music, take a pair of earmuffs. Or kill them before the show, everyone will thank you for it.
