The last one was locked due to spammage, even though since the spam was supposedly in the past, and we were on topic, I don't know why it was then locked. But whatever.

 

Has anyone heard Soils new stuff? "Cross My Heart" kicks ass, but the other one, "Pride" I don't think is that great. I think they're on tour with Static-X and Skrape. And while I'm at it, who the f*ck are Skrape?

 

And yes, the Superjoint concert kicked ass! They played like a 2 hour set, I think they played some new stuff since they don't have a lot of material, and the material they do have isn't very long.

 

Devildriver was ok, although I still don't really like them since they sound like Coal Chamber. But Dez is a kick ass guy. He was walking around backstage when I was trying to find Superjoint, and I talked to him for like 5 minutes. So yup.

I think I read something somewhere that they'll be going into the studio after touring over seas. Other than that I don't really have any info unfortunately.

Scrape was scar cultures old name(not "skrape" but I just thought i'd add this), and they aren't no cheesey nu metal bounce shiat. Scar Culture is pure ownage, and new KSE album I dunno, I don't like there new singer enough to listen to em, but he's decent no doubt.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing em with shadows fall and LOG damn that will be a kick ass show. Not to mention Behemoth on the 19th GOD DAMN amazing stuff.

 

 

Also, if you havn't heared bloodbath yet go out and buy there cd RESSURECTION THROUGH CARNAGE. It's the lead singer of opeths side project and god damn is it good. I personally like it better than Opeth but that's just me.

 

If you like nu-metal don't even bother buying this.

And why do people dislike/hate nu-metal? Well the facts are the music is very over played and cheesey, in other words it sounds the same as any other nu-metal band. The vocals consist of a white guy with whiney ass vocals. The straight definition of nu-metal is american metal bands that arent very heavy.

So if Nu-Metal is american bands that aren't very heavy...then what is KSE? I like a few nu-metal bands, like Korn, Spineshank and....hmm, maybe that's it..oh wait no Ill Nino. That's it. Other than that, I just about hate anything else.

KSE is metalcore, along with shadows fall, god forbid, log and all of those great bands. Nu-metal bands usually have that bitchy white kid voice, if you know what I mean.

You dare call me close-minded? Please excuse me while I chuckle. I never said I hated NuMetal, I just said that Skrape is a trendy NuMetal band that doesn't do much for music. In fact, I don't mind NuMetal at all. Some of it I like.And I'll ignore your condescending "you kids" remark.

What makes a band nu-metal? Is it because they're new, thus being inexperienced? If someone from Metallica or ACDC etc started a new band would it still be called metal? That seams like the logical explanation. Because if it's classified as nu-metal simply because it's new, then hasn't/isn't every band nu-metal at some time or another? But, if this was the case, how long does it take for a band to not be nu-metal? KoRn's been around for more than 10 years, are they still nu-metal?

 

Or does nu-metal just mean a little softer than metal and heavy metal? Clear me up on this.

 

 

And while I'm here, and since my topic died, has anyone heard anyone heard anything by Jerk? Not the best band out there, but they're Australian, so they're excellent by Aussie standards. Australia needs more metal bands. Even sh*tty ones. At least that'll encourage others. I guess.

So, it's pretty much just inexperienced white guys. If an inexperienced black guy did the same, would it still be nu-metal? Or would that be racist

 

 

Who said anything about rapping? The chick from Evanescence doesn't rap. But I think that blonde guy does a bit.

 

KoRn and SOAD etc don't rap. And they don't sing mindless generic lyrics (well, not usually. In the new sh*t they do sometimes).

 

 

By rap did you mean sing? Those bands (not Limp Bizkit, though) are actually pretty kick ass singers.

 

I have no idea what's going on.

hehe, true, I think there is a thin line to walk. I acutaly never thought about a black guy in a nu metall band, but it would probably qualify to Annyway, I dont concider SOAD to be nu metall, because they are actualy good, with meaningfull lyrics. But the late koRn stuff, its just weak..

Muahaha, I found teh KSE news! Straight from the Roadrunner site.

 

 

Though all such prep needed for touring is going on, the band is also writing and getting ready to record their follow-up to Alive Or Just Breathing. Expect them to be hitting the studio come early December, or thereabout.

Damn... I was going to say Sevendust. Race has nothing to do with being Nu-Metal or not.

 

Staind is considered nu-metal but they don't rap (altho they used to a little bit on their first album)

 

I don't think nu-metal is cheesy or overplayed....Its just new and different.... I think its mostly in the instrumentals.

 

Nu-Metal bands don't ussually rip killer solos like heavy metal bands do. Nu-metal now a days, unfortunately ,has very few, if any, solos.

 

 

But enough about this again... lets stop bashing other kinds of music and keep this topic on track with some kick ass heavy metal talk, please.

Why do you think Australia doesn't have many bands? They actually have one of the killerest metal scenes on the planet. And I listened to Jerk -- they fukkin suck. It's not even metal, it's barely industrial, mainly it just sucks. Anyways, the Canberra/ Melbourne scene is a metal hub of the world so how about you get your facts straight, eh?

 

If you wanna get into some Austrialian metal then I suggest you start with Alchemist, move on to ...f*ck, I'm Dead, then get some Blood Duster and then let me know if you still need more names. And god man, how about AC/DC? They are the godfathers of metal if you ask me. Yeah I know, Black Sabboth blah blah blah, but I'd say that AC/DC's vocals are heavier, almost like an early black/death metal.

 

Change subject: I've been listening to a dutch band called After Forever. You people that like Evenscence should check them out as they have the killer female singing but the music is so much better/legit, whatever. They even mix in some black metal vocals as well as many old heavy metal elements. Kinda like Opeth, too heavy for most, not heavy enough for extreme music fans. Holy sh*t! The Slayer concert was f*ckin ace! They f*ckin played all of Reign In Blood and Seasons In The Abyss, and then some random stuff here and there.

 

Then there was Arch Enemy. Oh my god, they f*ckin rocked. They were f*ckin amazing, but they only played 6 songs, which didn't do much justice for me.

 

Then Hatebreed.....they were OK, but I still hate them.

 

Then there was some other crappy band that started it out. First the guys bass string broke, then when he got his other bass, the strap fell off. Twas crap.
