Hey guys. I must say it is good to see some goings on in the old M.I. forums even if it is only a whisper.

 

I thought I might pop my head in here to ask if anyone ever got my (mostly incomplete) island ingame in total. I never put any of it ingame myself, being a task I hated with a passion, and only ever got small bits and pieces from other people. If anyone ever did put it ingame, or any appreciable portion of it, I would be very interested in seeing my work up close and personal.

 

Additionally if anyone wants it I would be happy dumping my (recently rediscovered) Myriad works. Most of it amounts to old rubbish and partially completed lots but it might be of interest to some of you. The docks are probably the most interesting since they house the illCOM train station (which is of ridiculous proportions) but should be interesting.

 

Let me know.

There is a small part of Port Orchid which i have ingame allong with some lots i have putted ingame here's a small mapview screen just for your information its not much but i used it for developping some paths for port orchid.

 

atm i have all the islands in my devkit so from Illcom, Black Messa, Necrosis, Port Orchid and GTI most of it is ingame.

Gforce handed over the max files to me a long time ago so had a litle fun with it and putted some more buildings ingame as seen on the screen the colorfull buildings on the left bottom of the picture.

 

 

PS: Jason we certainly want your latest files even if its only for completing the missing bits and having a more complete version of Myriad Islands.

Is this project out of date? Is the team shattered? I have a VC Version of this project. Is that version the latest one?

No dude it's not the latest, but dont remove your VC's version because it has cool and hard missions.

You mean about these 3-

 

1) Run for the Party.

2) Police Patrol

3) And a mission with Predator

4) And a fourth where we rescue an FBI agent's brother.

 

Are there more too? Why is the Project dead?

after we stepped over to GTA-SA the coding part kinda died out we didnt have any active coders anymore and the coders which were helping us out back then quited a long time ago even though the gta-sa version is slowly beeing revived it just takes a long time to get everything back on track.

 

and for the missions there are also some widely spread around myriad just search for them around the park area and shops and stuff i do not have the vice city version installed so i cant check for it atm.

Oh i get it a lot to put ur creation on smart idea andway im on a mac ( i know hard to do the easy modding things) so i cant use 3ds max or zmodeler but do u know any programmes that do that for mac? (and shut your f*cking mouth if anyones gonna say just buy a pc)

you can try sketchup or emulate windows programs with virtualization tools to run them. And im almost sure there are programs for macs to but you will have to buy them.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I would like to take

 

LOT: illres_lot12

THEME: some residential, kinda tropical looking, condos on it.

 

I've already gotten an ok from Aad, so it should be all right. wink.gif

This is not my best stuff ever but I think it will turn out all right, and it gives a good idea of what I want to do with the lot.

And maybe the surrounding lots too, if I have the time to do it.

And I will of course spice the lot up later with some palm trees, pools and all kinds of tropical stuff.

thats looking nice and clean, keep in mind people need a place to park their cars so creating some parking spots and some nice tree layout will fill it up really nicely.

1 Yes you can have a lot.

 

2 Yes you will need to reserve your lot in order to get things organized

 

3 You are free to choose but keep in mind some are already reserved and are not free unless the ones which reserved them are not developing them anymore.

 

4 Take a close look at the map at the first page which is sort of still up to date besides the lots that Loco_G and Gforce have reserved and released.

 

So if you want a lot do the following:

 

1 tell what you want to do with the lot (maybe post some pictures in the PPT topic to proof yourself)

2 tell us the lot number of the map

3 if your story is fine and your lot fits in the theme stuff (which is open atm so not specific themes are chosen yet) it is fine.

4 keep in mind that you will need to stick with the ID numbering of the lot you choose examples were given earlier in this topic) each lot has about 4 ID numbers you can work with.

 

Hopefully this will answer all your questions.

***Update***

 

Updated water.dat file added to first post.

i just tested your new updated water.dat and had a look at the GTI part that you had redone there were some minor things you might want to take a look at in MAX or ingame just to see what i mean.

 

i've made some screenshots of the places where there were some small gaps between the water planes maybe you've setted them at different height or maybe they have overlapped.

Also another thing the seabed of GTI isnt prelight ( which certainly needs to) and is showing up darker then the lots itself seeing this ingame it really gives a strange effect it just looks like the water is causing some edges but it is just the pre-lighting that isnt pressent for the seabeds. I kinda suck at pre-lighting and to get it to the same standard we need to have Loco_G his settings or just experiment with our own pre-lighting settings from the topic.

 

i guess the screenshots will provide you with the information you need.

 

Also found out that the boat paths now need some changing for GTI cause now they just run into the seabeds.

From a realistic point of view i dont think those light fixtures will suit an underground parking garage i personally would like to see some TL lighting like on this picture

im not sure but it could be included in the 0,69 b installer if you download that one and unpack it and then go to the gta3.img file or how it is called you might find it. I also dont know which car it replaces. So good luck it might also be on gtagarage.com cause it was released a long time ago as just a car.

A litle update for you then

 

- paths ( cause my max files are doing strange things i cant export the new paths)

 

- lot development ( currently im working on a litle harbor lot which is progressing slowly )

 

- other things ( trying to make some progress on necrosis lot development and fixing it up )

 

besides that im just having a job atm for 37,5 hours a week.

UPDATE

 

It took a while to sort out what was causing the scripts for the paths not to export properly or crashing during exporting after some talking on IRC with Gforce and investigating the current path files we found out that the script boundaries were causing some problems. So by staying in the boundaries of the map with the paths and also by staying in the boundaries written in the path script we finally got things working again.

 

So here it is a new update of the path node files which includes some minor fixes for now

 

- fixed gti boat paths (stuff at kamsterdam)

- small fixed on illurb and illress at the roundabout stuff

 

more fixes will follow but then i will just edit this post the download link stays the same

 

Download latest paths files

 

Some areas are untested so if you notice any bugs or missing stuff just let us know in this topic.

 

how to add them:

1 open gta3.img with an img editor

2 delete all the current files node00 to node63

3 rebuild or save the img file

4 add the new nodes from this release

5 rebuild or save

6 have fun ingame

 

UPDATED: time: 20:27 date: 28-08-2011

- fixed illurb car paths (some junctions)

- added the Loco_G library lot on illurb

- fixed the GTI boat paths to not run on the seabed.

just as dead as the old one ? =\ hope not

even though im not in control of anything mentioned for Myriad IV it is just a community project, this topic started of by a fan of myriad islands and showed us how myriad (northern islands ) would look like on the IV engine and that suprised uss al. Besides that we all have our private lives and telling this im also noticing that i am just not so motivated anymore on modding gta altough i still like 3d designing.

 

having this said im not sure where all the other guys have been upto but almost a month ago i remember Gforce was working on converting some illcom stuff over to GTA IV altough it is a hell of a job to do.

 

so i cannot say that Myriad islands is dead but the lack of progress or interest certainly is becaming less and less lately. I still have 3 lots in a development phase ready to be finished and put to be putted ingame i just need to find the time and motivation to get it all sorted.

 

so for now anything considerd to myriad everyone is free to do with it as it still is a community map project so just feel free to experiment with all the files that were released.
