[SA] Myriad Islands

Steve M's Map Cleaner keeps crashing on me during LAn. Here is the error window:

I am running a patched 2nd version of SA, and so far I have not had any trouble running other mods. I have SA:MP, MTASA, Detailed Radar, SA Monitor, various vehicle mods etc. installed on another copy and they all work fine. I copied my original unmodded game folder, ran the downgrader, ran map cleaner and got the error. I assumed it was the downgrader, but considering it works fine with any other mod I have installed I ruled it out, but maybe I am wrong about that? Any help would be appreciated. smile.gif

As for tiling textures, I myself use mostly textures that are 256x256. With the 512x512 you get idd a nicer more detailed result, but since MI uses mostly textures that are 256 or less, it would be best to keep a certain constant texture-wise.

Another option is of course retexturing everything that's been released so far, though something tells me this won't happen soon rolleyes.gif

I think we should not bother about scripted missions at all, since there's so many "ambient tasks" and sub-missions in GTASA which are worth porting.

@locoG : I'm don't agree with your retexturing. It'll stay unofficial to me. The problem, i repeat once again, is the lack of MipMapping in txd implementation.

 

Some plugins can be easily added to txd workshop to work with the game. And there would be no reasons to limit our texture to a poor size, destructing all the work to acquire the result of the texture.

 

And BTW, this grainy effect can be largely limited in the game if you specify a higher value of Anti aliasing and Anisotropic filtering. For me there's no point making textures under 256px, except for windows, door, specials textures wink.gif

 

I'm working on a convertions of my own CEA SRti's models to Gostown today. There will be nearly 15 new buildings added to the city when done.

Myriad is just boring without missions. In MIVC i wished someone made more missions. I just loved the Chef's mission and the Agents mission.

You are thinking on the get it in myriad? imo you could create a topic with a pool, so the people can vote if your island/racetrack must be in myriad.

 

Good cars, and cran, I love your letters, seems you was drinked or something.

nice car gtauron, but the front rear is very simply.

About the speedway: I think it should just be integrated into something that already exists, and made to be a really proper speedway, gates all the way round to get in, more grandstands etc etc, connected onto part of one of the islands already. Will need it's own infastructure too, transport links, carparks etc etc.

 

But apart from that, I love it smile.gif.

 

I also agree about the city layout, needs to be more fun...mind you, I spose one area of proper city blocks isn't gonna kill anyone. Placement of it all though? Where would it go? Oh and btw what's the polycount on average per block?

so far we don't support SA V2 but, i have been trying to locate a genuine V2 in the UK shops here but so far all i can find is V1.

 

if you take a look at the first post in my MI-SA release topic you will find instructions on how to get V1.01 to run, it may be possible to get V2 to run MI-SA in a similar way.

 

my advice would be to install a fresh version of SA V2 then use my V0.5beta1 installer to install MI over the top of it, then use your V2 DVD to Autoplay and run the game from the Autoplay menu, if this fails then maybe try using your downgrade kit and try the Autoplay from the DVD again and see if it runs.

 

throughout the process forget about using Mapcleaner.

 

alternatively install a fresh SA V2, then use your downgrade kit and try mapcleaner before installing MI-SA, Mapcleaner is best used on a totally fresh install of SA without mods of any kind.

PS: if anybody in the UK knows where i can locate a 100% genuine version of SA V2 please contact me via PM and i will work on getting MI-SA to run with it wink.gif

Great thanks man! I will try all that out and report back. BTW, what do you mean by 'a 100% genuine Version 2'? You mean a non-bootlegged version? Just curious.

For your information, one block is 8k average. This may change along some blocks. For the moment you say "block" but certains pieces of land will be less blocky than the one you saw there. The complexity of the roads and path along these lot is much more detailled and less blocky too. Giving you possibility to go trough these.

heya all, had a question regarding the MI for SA, has something been worked out to allow u to change ur apearance without modding the CJ model(ie clothes, hair, stuff like that) cuz the plain jane starting model witht he rockstar jacket gets tiresom(not sure does anyone use a mod program outa game to change it or something?)

Yesterday I installed MISA v0.5 but I'll be visiting a friend from Wednesday to Friday. Maybe this weekend I'll be able to install the demo and play around with it myself. I'm not sure about timecyc.dat modding but there's a few other layered water setups I'd like to try out.

 

What's the best tool for seeing the player's current coordinates in GTASA v1.01?

 

 

On October 7th I posted about a possible change to the illURB end of Snow Racer's grey tunnel route. Well, I've finally gotten round to making the plan for it now:

I think joining it onto the end of the West end of that 4-lane road across illURB will be better for a few reasons:

  1. Since the tunnels are being expanded to 4 lanes, the current illURB exit will be a bottleneck.
  2. There are no 4-lane roads near to the current illURB exit, so it will look very strange having a big freeway exiting into a twisty set of small roads.
  3. The 4-lane road running across illURB looks a bit out of place, imho. Especially the way it terminates abruptly at either end. Using one end of the freeway tunnel exit would give it a really good reason to be there.
I ran this by Snow Racer in words and he agreed, so hopefully the plan is what he thought I was talking about! tounge.gif

 

What are other people's thoughts on it?

Its good to see Myriad expanding with new ideas and modders, though its a shame that focus has once again been lost in other areas (i.e. train/lots). This looks to be moving at a decent pace though.

JasonB has had exams for the past few weeks. They will be over soon and he will be working on getting the tracks he made in-game.

 

Once the Southern tracks are in-game I'll reroute the train along it. Maybe that'll spark their interest in their sections?

I havn't talked to him about the tracks recently. I think illspirit has been working on the new roads for the Northern islands.

Recently, I think he's mostly been doing Necrosis Island and G-Tools. I'm waiting on a picture of the island with his intended tunnel routes atm.

ParoXum that island your building really looks like a real downtown to me, although a little flat. Its in need of some hills and such. dont have to be huge, but no major city is absolutly flat. also, do you intend for the narrow roads to be one way? that would really give it more of a downtown feel. If that is what you are aiming for...

Lots are almost finished. But all i know about the trian is that its up and working.
