What you could do, if you find the damn thing, is chop it straight down the middle and make two .DFFs or mirror one half, if it's perfetly symetrical.

for the people who dont like viewing my model in 3d and want to keep it old school tounge.gif i've finished some more work, glass is in , stairscases are almost done and also the front is done next thing to do is finishing up the walls and removing some other bugs i've left in the floors. and then its texturing.

PS: glass will be custom and breakable i've found out that i still have some spare ID numbers left.

If you look carefully its only 1 quater mirrored 3 times. The left hand side looks exactly the same as the right hand side, and the back looks exactly the same as the front. It would only need a few different generic objects placed around it to make that less obvious though. So it could be 4 .dff's, but that might be a waste of ID slots.

I guess I missinterpreted your post, but wouldn't that be one dff, but 4 IPL entries with the original model rotated 3 times?(The bath was way too hot I guess biggrin.gif)

Whether or not, it just looks great. I really hope it finds its way to myriad.

No. It would only take up one .ID slot and four .IPL lines. Problem solved!

 

Have one quarter of the main building mirrored to make the whole (one .IDE slot), the .LOD for the whole building (that makes two slots).

The lot itself and it's .LOD would take you to four.

 

That leaves you a lot of polys left in five .IDE slots to put in things like entrance details, flags and banners, in fact, all the things which wouldn't require .LOD models at all.

 

If you find your original Max file, you're on to a winner.

If not, do it again! That spot on GTI would be great place for your lot (thanks aad).

Sorry for this but, from the air, your lot could be the nipple on the breast, the cherry on top of the cake of MI+GTI-SA.

Mission scripters beware, avoid at your peril (just a joke).

The only problem with a single DFF instanced 4 times and rotated is that the lighting would not match. At the end of one quarter the lighting would be different and wouldn't look good.

 

It's a good model though, I hope you find the file and a place for it in Myriad.

For the Train Paths, is it encrypted like ped and car parts? If not then some people can start the Train Paths for release of Train

 

EDIT: It seems it ISN'T encrypted but there are 3 files: tracks.dat, train.dat and train2.dat Is anyone working on them?

All paths aren't hardcoded. There is only a few things that are hardcoded I think. Like the popup headlights on the ZR350, for instance.

No point doings that till we have atleast part of the tracks in game. Besides, no one person has a complete set of the co-ordinates. Just a question, does anyone know how to define where the train stops?

Probably set it in the same spot for a few coordinates? Check out the SA-LC mod. They got it but it stuffs up at stops (Train goes through itself)

Respawn said he would do tests with railway paths in November 2005, but I don't think they ever happened. As far as I know, the GTASA paths for trains are in the same format as vehicle and pedestrian paths. The only difference is that the trains are the only vehicle to spawn on them and they stop at stations.

 

I think Steve-M has been working on a paths export script recently. He's done a lot of research into exactly how they work.

But I dont think this is the right topic to talk about that.

wtf does damage multiplier do? I've never played with it, so excuse my ignorance.

Nope they are in a readable format by notepad, whereas the vehicle/ped paths are not.

Indeed, so stick it low, and an object will appear to take more damage, even if the total amount is hardcoded no?

The Damage Multiplier can be really sensitive. I set it once and one hit and my car blew up. Also it's kinda hard to get realistic handling due to GTA's VERY basic handling mechanism

You know, there could be desputes over Nvidia and ATi (Obviously would be spoofed names ingame)

What about MHd (Myriad Hardware Developers) for ati? and PowerHoares for Nvidia tounge.gif

GTASA has very advanced physics! It pisses over most racing games! You just have to try stuff out and carefully study the effect of each setting. As you get experience from doing this, you start to understand how it works and can create much better setups than the default ones. smile.gif

 

The fCollisionDamageMultiplier setting only applies to collisions. Bullets and flames will damage it by the same amount whatever this value.
