I got 2 questions myself

 

1. will the final train tracks be in 0.5 release ? (or arent they finished yet)

 

2. since SteveM found out how to make paths will you wait with the release till so he can include them in 0.5 or not ?

 

 

the answer to both questions is no. i will make an update release for the north islands/train when they're ready, and the path nodes use a seperate img so that can easily be updated any time after V0.5 is released and i don't see any point in pressurising steve-m to finish them.

 

i have already mentioned that i will include updated lot's etc if they're available so it's up to the lot maker's to release work.

 

i am still working on converting the custom generics over in what little spare time i get from real life work, i'm also working on the link road/bridge/tunnel from GTI to illurb ........ it may make an appearance in V0.5 but it is a maybe. (and yes those plans have been semi-finalised)

 

as for fixing released work, most of the mess (misplaced ID numbering etc) from MI-VC has been done for MI-SA with all the ID numbering now being sequential the way it should be............ colfile fixes can be worked on by anyone .......... not just by me wink.gif

woo, nice model, mick. Any of these mansion have interior? its can be good for a mision (like the madd dog rymes in SA) tounge.gif

GT-1 the lot looks very good, I like the McOdie and motel, what go in the blank space?

 

cran, nice car, but what happens with the andatura? you have some cars in process, its mad.

 

I restart my c8_r6 lot with shops and offices, its very WIP and I need a lot of work to do (need to do the buildings in the blank zone, add more things to the buildings and fix some problems)

those renders dont look bad at all its just that they seem to look bad because of all the empty land thats still there but i like the overall view of it nice layout and good to see that MC odies will be finished tounge.gif. And how about the other WIP that Odie had before he died did anyone recieved them of his wife or something since i dont want any work of him to get wasted or trown away.

all your buildings really look sketchy and not that high detail at all i hope to see something better as the days will go hope it will turn out into and sweet ass lot. And whoah nice interior you got there forgot to say that.

 

 

I also have been working on something for the last days since my Lot 53 release. Its not much atm but it will be somekind of office building with a small enclosed interior. on top of that i will add some towers with skybridges please look forward to see my plans progressing i actualy havent made any plan or sketched it on paper yett because of my school. so here goes my first WIP ish trown of cube ish like building.

A somewhat ugly lot when it comes to positioning of the buildings and the layers they are built upon.

This would be a pretty good lot if you just add shrubs and trees in the open grass spaces.

I'm sure it wont be long now, and anyway it will give you more time to work on the looks.

 

I'm modelling a ghetto lot for the northern isles, somewhere near illres_SE_10 and it sounds like your lot would fit in somewhere near mine.

I wish you made McOdie Myriad Islands' official restorant.

There's lots of room on the northern islands to fill. We could pot one on each, maybe witj delivery side missions.

 

All recent posters: All work on display looks top notch.

 

mickarrow: In the original games, the mansions were as dull as dishwater. Starfish Island just wasn't very well done full stop. Somehow, your mansions look far more engaging and believable.

What you've done by varying the ground level looks interesting and I like the rounded patio cutting into the beach.

 

GT-1: The roof of Mc Odies looks striking. It's a very clean looking lot.

 

 

Cran: You've got one up on me sir. I've tried to model cars in the past (not for GTA) and I'm pants at it. You have a skill.

 

jost vice: Nice interior. What's the grassy bit behind the shops, a childrens play area?

PS. Sorry about not getting your lot release together yet, I'm waiting on a new PC. Hopefully, I'll get it done by the weekend.

What's paper? Photoshop, 3ds Max and GTA are my paper. I was trained in technical drawing and fine art and I don't think I own a pencil anymore (Michelangelo turns in his grave). Edited by locO G

Remember nothing is set in stone over on the northern islands. illspirit has widened the roads and you ought to take a look at the Myriad Train topic, as the track runs straight through that area (that's why I picked it).

 

Be prepared to move things around to fit them in later when everythings sorted and a Devkit is released.

 

I can't authorise your lot. Cran is the man to talk to and even he doesn't have an illnorth lot map yet.

We might have to move if needs must.

McOdie's and the Motel were both created by illspirit for the GTA3 map mod; Intercity Highway along with Odie if anyone was unsure. Any ideas on what could be added to the foreground of the lot?... or should it be left blank, though its a fair amount of space to be left.

Maybe some GTA style shops would be nice? Or maybe a warehouse.

 

Oh, and those interested on the Andatura, i'm starting to texture the interior now, so it shouldn't be too long.

I see you found Max. i do like that 'Fast Burger' restaurant, but not the office (maybe cause it's wip). The textures on your stores look nice, though I think they should be modelled a bit more. Good job.

 

aad: I like that triangle entrance you got there. The interior has a nice setup. Will it be a seperate interior?

 

GT-1 (& illy & Odie): I so love that McOdie. The other buildings look nice too. What will the untextured one be? I was thinking maybe you could add an entrance to the motels' parking lot to the right too. As for the open spaces. I was thinking that you could maybe add a small electric generating thingy ( like the one in SA where you finish in one of the 'Beat the Cock' races) to the open space in the back. As for the open space in the front, all I can think of right now are some billboards, advertising the buildings on the lot. Like : Motel, McOdie,... at 100m to the right. smile.gif

I am sh*t hot at modelling.

 

Cerb suggested I come here after PMing him on another matter somewhat related.

 

anywho, I wouldn't mind having a lot of my own to play with to get me started, if I like it I will then think about helping out where I can. I can see this being a little easier than modelling my usual cars in a somewhat polywhore fashion. I still have to discover the gripes of map modding GTA, but we'll see how it goes.

 

Not sure what lots are available if any, but I am using this topic to express my interest, thankyou.

But you should use the Multi\Sub Object on mapping.

Just in case you need any help, here is the way to convert your lot to use one single multi-sub material.

1. Select a free material slot.

2. Click the 'Get Material' button (far left).

3. In the 'Material Map Browser' select 'scene' from the 'Browse From' section.

4. Click and drag the material from the 'Map Browser' to the empty material slot. You must click and grag. Do not double click.

A dialogue box will appear. Select instance.

Welcome to 3ds Max. I think it's one of the greatest pieces of software ever written. I suggest all Zmod and Sketchup users have a look at it.

Turbo Squid still host the free Gmax download and with Kam's scripts, you can get your own models in game.

 

PS: I'm hoping my new PC will arrive tomorrow so I can sort your first lot release out over the weekend.

PPS: Sorry for the 'off topic' post, but I thought that it would be the smartest place to post it.
