Hi i would like to say im getting back at modeling now to i worked on one building the last time and i finnaly got a hand of a full version of 3dmax 7 so im really learning a lot now

The changes to do that would be drastic. We would have to set up and agree upon a new light placement in the max scene, and then distribute it. And THEN we would have to relight.

@ Aad: looks good from this angle. But I'd like to take a closer look at some of the textures. Maybe you could post a more closer screenshot. Nice work though.

@mickarrow : that's looking really, really nice. what lot is it on, and what do you intend it to be?

 

@aad : mickarrow is right about the need for another angle. i couldn't get a handle on the scale of the building until i stared at it for a while. maybe it's just me suicidal.gif .

Mick, looks good and all, but dont stretch out the ceiling texture soo much, and get a texture for that base! Other than that, looks all good. I shall showeth my work.

I just played this mod yesterday, I have only one thing to say: 'FRIGGIN AWESOME'.

 

Seriously, this mod is very awesome, the atmosphere (Night, sunset) perfectly match the city through my opinion, some missions are pretty cool. But they oftenly crash in some places (like doing that Chef's mission.).

 

Other than that, keep up the good work! I already made a seperate GTA folder (named GTA 5: Myriad (well, to me, I spelt it Myradia) Island) dedicated to it. Good job!

Well, here's my first attempt at anything remotely constructive with Myriad...

 

I had a little play around with the streetlights.ipl the other day. I had a thought to see what the GTA3 traffic lights would look like in place of the current Vice traffic lights, and here was my results.

As I said, just a little experiment I did. It is edited straight off streetlights v2.6, the latest (i think). So, don't hesitate to share your thoughts. Positive or negative, i can take it.

On one hand, I like the extra colour it ads to Myriad. On the other hand, I kinda got used to the ones we have right now. confused.gif I dunno. I think I would keep the ones we have now. Nice experiment though.

Has anyone made an object.dat topic yet? I can't find it so I guess not, but I could be wrong... Maybe we could have a competition of some sort. One week: new tree for the palm, second week; new boxes, ...and so on. smile.gif

With the new teleports you added, Barton. Is it really neccessary to have the pink markers?

 

The reason I ask, is because I tried the exact same thing (adding teleports) without pink markers and the game constantly crashed during the fade-in.

 

That, or I REALLY suck at Mission Coding.

I forgot to mention this in the readme. Right is you press close on teh BWInstaller and you get a message saying Quit? Say NO, if you get no message its installed fine the BWInstaller just stopped showing the data. I belive Barton fixed this for my next version though.

I wonder actually how many it has had, in regards to hits I mean. When I had a counter running on it, it was upto 4k downloads after a couple of weeks. I doubt it went up too much more after that, but you never know I guess. Thanks for the mirror.

 

Just been testing this version (0.3) and it seems to be stable, same as 0.2 was. Ive re-wrote about one-third of the install scripts so far as I changed the files around a little. Fixed up some of teh newer lots so it shouldn't be too far away from a release. smile.gif

I was going to, but I'm working on a database thinger to see what all objects in the .dat file are used in the generic file. Theres around 300 listings in the .dat file, but alot of them are no longer needed because the mission script doesn't use them. Example- all the trash and rc helicopter stuff that pops up in the Vercitti mansion after you get towards the end of the game. Other things like doors that the mission script no longer uses are in there to. I was thinking about clearing all that stuff out, but I remeber reading somewhere that some of it has to stay there. So I don't know, I guss I play around with it this weekend.

 

If some one would like to make new things remember-

They should be roughly the same size and have the same base in the same spot, to save remaping all the IPL files. And think of things that map modders would need. Like doors, lawn mowers, cloths lines all that good stuff. OR ignore me and tell me to screw off its all good lol biggrin.gif

K i tried it with 3dsmax 7 but i ran into some slight problems but it seems to work i looked in zmodeler and it was lighted up so it works the only thing that i need to do is texture it and put it ingame.

I IM'ed Illy earlier with this Idea and he gave it the green light, so here it is:

 

This place is for all us modders to put our resources for us all to share on this project. If you have some generic plants and benches or funiture that you made, post it here. If you have textures you got from VC or if you made them on your own, post them here. What I'm hoping will happen from this is a pool of resources, for us all to pull from, so that we can create diverse content, but still maintain some kinda of continuity. This should create a myriad 'style' among the general buildings but still allow diversity in the buildings of interest.

 

Try to keep the chatter to a minimum, in terms of C&C, if your posting objects or textures please include a picture of what your including. You can zip if its multiple things, but try to include images of some kind. If its a texture it might be better if you include a in-game or on-object screen shot/render. I'm not great at starting topics, so if you think something about the rules should be changed then post that here as well.

Spheres not needed. Maby you forgot to put a wait code in or jumped to the wrong label or something. Simplest way, create a thread first:

then put this somewhere clever. notify.gif

replace those coords though.

 

News: Updated the script yesterday. Maby a release today. Changed the teleport codes for JasonB's tallest buildings with a corridor and two elevators. Added rotating sign on planet Myriad. I guess this code doesn't fit very well with the current version of that lot because a static sign is already in there. I should probably add lot detection to Snow Racer's marina to prevent boats from being parked on land when that lot isn't installed.

OK, I've just read all 30 pages in here and I couldn't find the address of the mission script, like the address where the global scm variables are stored (like the same address). I need it to create a Myriad Islands mission script enhancer tool, like an ingame scripted car handling editor, water hose on a heli and other stuff like a mission killing aliens screwing with the world gravity. I don't care about how that address is found, who cried, killed themselves or whatever in the process of finding it, I just want it. I want to use the idea Opius had about controlling a memory hacking tool with the mission script. whatsthat.gif 

 

If anybody wants these features in Myriad, maby you could help me get this important memory address. Don't get yourself banned though. tounge.gif You can't download my script if that happends. tounge2.gif
