Myriad island oil rig: 328 days without oil! Just the base to far, now to add a place for a boat to land....

If you would have looked carefully I updated the CDC a few days back when this was released. I didnt change the url link that can be seen that was still at 4.4 or something but the actual link had been changed. Anyway I edited both parts now so it should not be confusing. Edited titile also.

Yeah, I did a new hidden packages mod once where I just moved them all, some of them you could see, but were hard to get at, e.g.the top of a tree thet you had to carefully climb, or some other places.

Update....how the f*ck do you get rid of that wierd thing in my picture? its being a pain, only seems to happen when i model a building lol...might be due to scaling i use (unsclaed i just zoomed out from my previous model and started building), i'll see. Transparency issues with my supports as you can see, i can make them clear, but then the walkway and railing turn wierd too...grrr.END

 

EDIT: Sorted wierd faces, still got that transparency issue though smile.gif

Well duh smile.gif after all its a WIP and if you took anything interesting looking off an Oil rig it'd look similar anyway.

You see oil rigs are complex and huge! They are very tall with many towers and most importantly massive drills which drill hundreds of feet down, wheres all the pipes and walkways on your rig? wheres the massive drills? wheres the docks for ships?

 

Maybe i'm just too used to the uber moddeling of the likes of Sadisticmachine and others.

That where they are. You need to remember maps don't just sprout out of the air, they need to be made in a program like zmodeler, and don't talk to me about Oil rigs i been looking at them all day for refernces pictures, i think i know what one looks like thankyouverymuch.

Oil rigs also come in various sizes. Cause MI is east coast where infact theres no oil, there won't be a big oil rig anyway unless there was one hella oil deposit there. Larger oil rigs are usually waaaay out in the middle of the sea anyway, but in MI that isn't possible, another reason for a smaller rig no?.

 

On oil rigs, docks for tankers aren't usually near the rigs themselves, they infact can be up to a kilometer away. The Rig pumps oil down a large tube to a platform where the Tanker then takes fuel from. Like this:

Not the mention if its actually off shore not out at sea it doesn't need tankers to dock at it, pipes are far more economical over short distances, but for the sake of it I'll put a platform in.

nice design.. only few things.. when on a chase a cop car half fell into the road near the middle of the bridge, and on one side of the road the cars drive a bit too close to the pavement, with i guess can be altered slightly in the paths file.

 

I'm off updating the paths.

If Myriad is put into San Andreas (wich I hope will happen) there will be plenty of space for an airport and countryside. The planes would have to be parked somewere. And by putting Myriad into SanAn you get all the new features. Maby the food eating bit could be gotten rid of... the possibilities are endless... nearly.

Err, the plane on VC DOES land on the runway!

 

I'm not sure what happened to the train, but a tram was thrown out long ago.#

cheers smile.gif found that out thanks to Opi...but now a new problem. I put the object in game, all worked, collison file correct size and position, just the object was too small. So i went and resized it in zmod, saved the .dff and made a new .x file, which i created a new col file with. Went back to moomapper, and literally started from scratch with installing it, but now i have the problem that the colfiles in the right place and is the right size, but the objects still waaaay too small and obviously not lined up with the colfile anymore. I mean I literally re-installed Myriad again....f*cking thing. Any ideas?END

yeah probalem with trains is because of things such as basements etc. If in SA then yeah the planes will go somehwere...where they are already, providing you can have both maps in game at some point.END

Theres enough ROOM in ther to have VC, LC and Myriad. But who knows about IPL/ object physical/ game limits. Just cos you can fly as far as you can, you may not be able to build there (although there is the bistro).

 

Also, would SA be kept as they are trying to keep MI away from the GTA series as much as possible?

The game does not decrease the size of the object, try importing a car or an ingame object into zmod to scale it properley.

 

If this still don't work then you must be cursed by teh moddeling noob
