So basically the game has normals, but has double sided polygons instead of bothering with what side sh*t.

Now that I've installed withouth the police station, park lot AND skyline, now more crashes! I did somewhat crashed when I retryed the police mission, sad.gif

@Delfi do you want version 1.1 pre-lighting or do you want me to wait until you have the elevator shafts remodelled ?

no, let me fix it, it will be in couple days when i fix my myrad installation back together,

because i screwed it few days ago and even if i throw everything out of gta-vc.dat even

base land it crashes on loading, vierd stuff :S

maruti is a real car manufactured by suzuki, click for pics:

IT`S NOT SO BAD THE WINDOWS SUCKS

The windows aren't even textured. You can find the fully textured skyscraper on the previous page. Also, if you critisize, then PLEASE post why you think it sucks.

 

@Cran: Yes, I'll definately release some of my work in the far future when San Andreas comes out on PC. The reason why I didn't release it was because my current objects are FAR beyond the poly limit.

 

@GT-1: Lmao. Wait till you see the textures.

I installed MI without park lot and skyline and it works just fine. I guess something is wrong with them sad.gif . I haven't noticed any crashes in my game because of the police station though.smile.gif

My game works fine now. I edited the Limits to 9k (for Bldgs and Dummys) and Streaming Memory to 250. No crashes expierenced.

My game crashes when i play the police mission that you find inside the police station, then when i enter the police car and drives left on the road to the fire station, the game crashes. anyone know why ? i only have the base land and police station installed but still it crashes..

This seems to be the most major problem. I've had all of them self installed before and my game never crashed. I think a line for one lot had the same properties in the install script as another lot. So the game doesnt know what to do other then crash. I'll take a look. confused.gif

You say it crashed when you tried doing the cop missions, but with no station there? Its a known bug it crashes there, install the police station and it won't smile.gif.

Well, it hasn't crashed once for me, even around the police station.

 

However, I did manage to get it to crash, when you move around a lot during the first couple of seconds of play. That happens in every install of Myriad I have though. confused.gif

Someone just try installing only the Police Station, test. If it crashes, it could be because the interior has no LOD, and the original is 6000 polys. confused.gif

 

If it works, great. Then someone just install the park and try the same thing. See if it crashes.

 

And then put both together and run to each individual lot and see how the game responds.

 

Trial and error. Tis the only way.

It does heappen to everyone. We can code it so that your player has to wait lets say 3 seconds after the game loads so that the models have time to load up before you player can move. smile.gif

I don't have much new to show you, but finally I can load textures from txds (dxt3 compressed), so I don't have to include them into the dll.

Much more efficient way for a hud. smile.gif

 

It seems I lost the first speedo skin, so here is the second version ingame.

They look pretty good Squddiy, well in fact they look very good. One thing though the speedo has a square edge on the top left like the radar has on the top right it makes them look quite alike. Maybe it would look worse without but maybe not.

Thanks GT-1. You're right, they really look alike. As I made these screenshots I realized how much better the first looked. Tomorrow I'll remake the silver skin and maybe I can release a stable version. smile.gif

no no no, don't make the silver one, the gold one blends in much nicley, if I had to choose it would be the gold one, kinda fits the myriad feel.

I don't think these 2 lots are the problem. I've been installing the lots one by one, playing 20 minutes-ish on both and I've had no problems at all. It crashed a few times before I upped the .exe limits, but thats all. Around that area with those 2 lots I just CAN'T make it crash.

 

@Opius: Ditto.

 

EDIT: Test log (cont)

 

10) Addition: Police station and Hospital - 20 Minutes

 

Verification - adding this lot sorts out the crashing when driving in this area normally. Can't cause it to crash - all well and good. No crazy vertexes and VC limits the same as before (Number 9) (and will be until specified).

 

 

11) Addition: Fuk+Yu Auto imports - 25 Minutes

 

Runs alright - Always been problems with my version of the lot, not prelit correctly and slightly sunk into the ground, but it works smile.gif. Can't make it crash, however vertex anomalies creeping in, but only in 1 car, the Ferry 355.

 

 

12) Addition: Chickenpluckers c3_r8 lot - 20 Minutes

 

No problems with this lot, Nimic had vertex problems, nothing out of the ordinary, business as usual.

 

 

13) Addition: The Park - 25 Minutes

 

No problems at all with this, strange that some people had problems. Can't see and clash with the police station, except IDE 2620 in cpblock.ide needs "Hashing" (Putting a hash by the entry 2620, installing using BWInstaller then taking the hash out again). Recommended change of 2620 entry to another ID number with no clashes.

 

 

14) Addition: Myriad Motorcycles - 20 Minutes

 

IDE Entry 2620 needed hashing again, crashed once too (Unknown reason, one-off). Worked fine after that though, no crashing when driving around the park, police station and this lot in quick succession. Personally I think the LOD is way too detailed and needs re-doing but thats me tounge.gif.

 

 

15) Addition: Nron - 20 Minutes

 

No problem with this, no entries needed hashing either. Noticed a problem with the Vulva FU 90 - Back rear door window has transparency problems - can't see opposite rear door through it round the edges (Alpha mapped area on the window).

 

 

16) Addition: Myriad Docks - 20 Minutes

 

Crashed once for no reason...one off again, seems to happen a few seconds after installing a new lot..intermittent not with all lots. No wacky vertex problems I could see of, mind you vehicles with them might not have loaded (Wasn't near road for a fair part of the search).

 

 

17) Addition: Opius' Plaza - 20 Minutes

 

You get the drill. No problems whatsoever. Odd Vertex thingy

 

 

18) Addition: Jason B's Pacific Bay Ind. Estate - 15 Minutes

 

See 17. More or less the same.

 

 

19) Addition: Little Toyko - 20 Minutes

 

Works alright, I still say the LOD is too detailed for its own good, and the installer script doesn't work for me (crashes when i get close to it) but a manual re-install sorted it. No problems with this, nor could i see any vertex problems on any other lots or vehicles

Mind you if that corners rounded i'd like to see it in a silver, sort of chrome effect smile.gif but thats meh.

I think I know part of the problem. There's a model missing from the release of c5_r8, the cinema interior. Its underground, and not rendered without mission coding, but maybe...

It could be the fact the Myriad Skyline has no interiors, i mean with that reflective floor, the ducks, the stall, the mirrored pillars etc that is one concentrated area of high polys always loaded when within 300 game units.That means the skyline interior is still loaded when your standing at Trn4l's dealership or at Jasonb's skyscraper.

 

Please can a coded interior be made for the skyline (same as park restuarant) and some other buildings, heres a list.

 

 

Myriad Skyline - No seperate interior coded yet

Park Restuarant - Seperate Interior coded

Berlin demo Tower - No seperate interior coded yet

Police station - No seperate interior coded yet

Fire station - No seperate interior coded yet

Trn4l's dealership - No seperate interior coded yet

Post office - No seperate interior coded yet

Xmode clothes - No seperate interior coded yet

Myriad Bikes - No seperate interior coded yet

 

 

 

The other interiors are all small and probably don't need seperate interiors these buildings included

I sent a version of the bw installer that I added like 10 more lots an the ones GT-1 included to GT-1 for testing purposses. The readme is vauge and I didn't want to post the link to the download here cause it is not official but if anybody from the myriad devolepers list ( if you're not on the list don't bother asking) wants to try it just PM me or I'm on msn [email protected]

 

I have tested it on my three comps and on a few people from mikernet and so far the only crashes have been a hardware issues (Vid Cards possibly not being able handle the higher poly count or textures) Maybe the update to the gta-vc.exe version 1.1 would fix that. So far the software is testing crash free.

 

The streetlighting.ipl has some additions to it also I was working on adding firehydrants and other random objects to the game but I never released them cause I got to thinking if they wanted the stuff on thier lots they would have added them themselves. I left the file in there cause this was the bw installer I use for my myriad purposses.
