GTA3Freak-2001
The processer is fine and the memory is fine (I recommend going to 512 MB though) but a radeon 7500 is pretty bad. A Radeon 9x00 should do the trick, but if you want bare cheapness an MX440 barely gets the job done. Could it be windows Me? cause it used to work lke a treat on windows 2000 pro A 7500 isn't that bad, its enough to run at least GTA3 even my old TNT2 used to be able to run GTA3 moderatly well(when nothing was going on ) I agree that you should probably upgrade that 7500 either way. Definitely look at getting 512 RAM instead of that 256 which should give you better performance.

ACA
I'm not sh*ttin you. It locked up and I hadta reset. When it restarted instead of just checking through the hard drive like it usually does when I reset like that, it said there were some errors in some files and, knowing XP, it decided to delete them. f*ckin stupid if you ask me, why would they make it do that? LOL, now any normal person wouldnt want a BSOD I have no idea....I discoverd that a long time ago when I was playing with the task manager one day and I rememberd that when you set GTA3 to "Real time" it would screw up so I wonderd what would happen if you tried it with minesweeper. Did you get a BSOD or it just freeze?
ACA
Well I tried like you said. I put it in real time then Xed it out wait a minute thats not how. You mean end it from the task manager right? I ended it with the X. Ah well, anyways, I set it to real time and played. Then I clicked on the happy face and *freeze* so I hit reset and that happened. Everything works though still so thats alright.
Toumai
Lol. Setting any program to run realtime is not a good idea. It's basically saying to the system to devote all resources, whether they be free or not, to that one sole application. Infact, many people were abusing this by running 3Dmark03 in realtime and getting a good extra 2000 marks. Most benchmarks don't allow this (Aquamark for one) for this very reason. If you do try it. Keep in mind your computer might go into a "frozen state". It actually hasn't frozen. Let it sit for a few minutes then eventually it'll finish the test and give you your biased score. Even running Notepad in realtime causes instability. lol.

Assuming your using the IDE interface, put the hard drive with your main OS to master (using the jumpers on the back) and put it on the port on the end away from the motherboard. Put the new hard drive in on the middle port and set its jumpers to "slave". Then just copy and drag in the windozer. Your OS cd will let you format before setup. Opius
I'm planning on buying two 120GB hard drives (Don't ask...). Problem is, all my current IDE channels are filled, and I want to keep the old hard drives. My motherboard supports onboard IDE RAID. Would I be able to hook both new hard drives onto this, and have it "pass through", without any RAID-ing? Or, would I be able to stripe the hard drives, effectly having a 240GB, 14400 RPM hard drive? Please excuse the n00b-ness of these questions, I really don't understand how RAID works.
Atomic
Or, would I be able to stripe the hard drives, effectly having a 240GB, 14400 RPM hard drive? LOL! That would be nice wouldnt it? Sadly enough a RAID setup will not lend more than 30% of a speed increase most of the time. You can put it on that channel without having to do RAID. However if you dont have any IDE ports on your computer left then you may need to buy a PCI IDE card.

Atomic
Here's the real question. It sais I got an 8 pixel pipeline rendering. What exactly does that mean and do? Thanks. Putting this as basicly as I can... Pixel pipelines are stages that a pixel has to go through before it appears on the monitor, having more [pipes] means more pixels per cycle which means fill rate is higher. Having a higher fill rate means more images in the same amount of time which means higher FPS. There is alot more to it than that but thats the gist.
