Dalpura
It depends on what application you're using. Most, it's as simple as when you're 'Saving As' chosing a file type underneath the file name. It looks like this in MSPaint: It's mostly the same from app to app, but if you'd like to tell us which one you're using, I'm sure we can be of more help. Edit: Bah Laz. Beat me. As for your question, wolf posted this a while back. Anyway, my problem. Playing QuickTime movies in Firefox (or Mozilla, or IE). They don't. I've downloaded the latest player (I was directed there after trying to watch the X3 trailer) but I can't watch it. Couldn't with my old version of QuickTime, and I can't now. Any suggestions? It's all installed, but it just sits at a blank black box where the movie should be. I'm using WinXP Home, Firefox 1.5, Mozilla 1.7.2, and IE 6.0.2800. And I can't seem to view anything flash related either, despite having the latest flash plugin installed.

Dalpura
Well that got it. I've had Adblock for some time and never had that problem before. Ah well, thanks a lot for your help wolf.
Wolf68k
Did it fix the QT problem as well? Tools->AdBlock->Preferences->AdBlock Options Obj-Tabs = checked What that should do is add a little tab on things like Flash and inbrowser movies. The upside is that if you wanted to block it you just click the tab; the downside is that sometimes if you want to view the object you have to scroll so the tab is just out of site for the object to display normally. To be honest I have no idea what Tools->AdBlock->Overlay Flash (for left-click) is about. That's the problem with FF extensions, they don't come with README help files. What's the difference between 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit, etc. Based Systems/Processors?? 16-Bit 32-Bit 64-Bit It's basically how wide the data units used are as measured in bits. Reincarnated
I have a question. My friend sent me a song over msn that she just ripped from a new cd she got. But when I try to play it, it says something about a license (wasn't paying too much attention), and then I keep clicking the play button but it doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated. Wolf68k
She must have used WMP to rip it or maybe on an off chance iTunes. She needs to use something like CDex or AudioGrabber.
Forfit
To unlock (if unlockable) the Pixel/Shader on a 6800 (NV40) Chipset, do they need to be unlocked everytime the computer is restarted? Or is it just a one-time thing?
Wolf68k
To unlock (if unlockable) the Pixel/Shader on a 6800 (NV40) Chipset, do they need to be unlocked everytime the computer is restarted? Or is it just a one-time thing? As far as I know, just the one time From what I've seen some makers of the 6800 don't unlock as well as others. eVGA seems to be the best. Also unlocking the pipes doesn't help too much under stock GPU and memory speeds. Some games it's only 1-2 fps and in one it was about 10 fps. So unless you also OC the GPU and Memory it's not really worth it. Read: http://firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_6800_unlocking/
Forfit
Thanks wolf, i was thinking about ordering my card today, but im stuck between the apollo card (which the reviews claim already comes unlocked) and has the Ultra cooler on it, or the EVGA which is just stock. I was looking at the Leadtek too but they took it off of newegg. I haven't owned a card other than a PNY (5200,5500) so im not sure how to choose, im trying to base my decision off of reviews, but thats hard. XMike
I use firefox but the rest of my family uses aol. So while I'm browsing the web with Firefox every 5 minutes or so aol will load up and try to sign on. Could this be like a virus that is trying to connect through aol or something? I tried just leaving it at the sign on page and continue using ff but it slows down my computer so it's annoying? Any help?

I have no experience with AOL's browser, but i believe this could be your problem. Open up the AOL Browser, and go into the Options, Preferences menu or whatever it is called, and click on the tabs and look around for anything that says something like "Sign on automatically Every XX Minutes" and uncheck the box. Or set it to 50 years, or something.

Wolf68k
This is why I hate AOL. It's now a lot like IE. Once installed it's wormed it's way through just about everything in your system. This is just guess work. Start->Control Panel->Internet Options->Connection. Select "Never dial a connection" if it's not already and press OK But while you're there click the Programs tab and make sure "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is UNchecked. This more than likely won't matter, but can't hurt. Now click OK. Make sure FF is set to be the default browser. You'll find a simullar options in Tools->Options->General make sure it is checked and click the Check Now button. See if there is something like that for AOL as well and uncheck it. CrazyDude
printscreen and paste doesn't pick up video, fraps would only do something when I was in a game I think. I tried it and it wouldn't take a image. snagit didn't pick up the video either.

Mr.Stevo
I have the these two annoying problems. My first problem is with WMP. Everytime I stream a video from the internet....the video just stays black. I try somethings like the codecs and video acceleration. Its been like this for a while.... My 2nd problem is with UXTheme...I can't it install it. This is what it says... "Neowin UXTheme Multi-Patcher v4.0 has detected that there's any Windows NT setup file in c:\ It's not recommend you to continue with this. Please eject your Windows NT CD or move your setup files to other path. Press OK to exit patch." I don't have Windows NT...or a CD in my drive that is Windows NT... I have Widows XP. Anyway to fix this? Thanks EDIT- By the way...what was that page that tells you all the colors for text on this site? Im tired of this one.... Forfit
Well, i know i talk about this kind of stuff alot... But anyways, I just bought my video card today...for 150 USdollars. (6800) And there was a 6800GT for 210.00 USdollars. I could have bought either or, but do you think i made the right decision on getting the plain one? Because its probably my last AGP upgrade...and i figured the GT was overpriced because you could get a PCI-E 7800GT for 285$ new.
Wolf68k
Where did you get that 6800? What brand is it? I'm looking at a BFG 6800 OC over at tigerdirect.com for $190 //edit Also seens an eVGA 6800 for $184 at ZipZoomFly and I know the eVGAs have no problem with the pixel pipeline unlock Edited December 13, 2005 by wolf68k
