GTA3Freak-2001
I currently have a 20Gb Samsung HDD and I am getting a Seagate 80GB HDD hopefully today. Now I was wondering how I should go about setting it up considering I want to also keep the 20GB. Can I take out my current 20GB set it to slave, set the 80GB to master and then install win XP on it. Will I be able to then transfer files off of the 20GB to the 80GB even though the 20GB has XP installed on it? Please tell me if that was as clear as mud, and I'll try and explain it better. Forty
It doesn't matter if Windows is installed on the other HDD, so long as it's on the master drive, that is the one the computer will boot up with.

After you do that put the disk in and itll say "Press any button to boot from cd..." guess what you do from there? After you do that you need to format the hard drive (use NTFS), after that you will need to boot from the cd again and isntall windows where you just formated. The setup provides instructions for you when you boot from the cd.

Matt.
Right. I figured this would be the place to come to when I have a PC related question. Out of all the web I chose here. Basically, I'll be buying a new PC soon, and I live in the UK. Where would be the best place to buy one, for value for money? Not eBay though, I'm not a fan. I live in the UK. Err yeah. Help appreciated. Ahem.
Toadyd
If you want to build yourself i recommend www.overclock.co.uk and www.overclockers.co.uk overclockers also have a few pre-built systems at pretty good prices...

I've had a few friends who (not paying attention of course) accidently re-installed Windows on their old HDDs and lost all their stuff (because it will show both HDDs in the selection screen for what to install on). Superfly.
Alrighty, two quick questions about video cards. My brother is looking for an AGP video card with TV-in/Tv-out, around $200-ish. He was looking at a 9600 AIW, is this card any good? I suggested a 5700 Ultra, but I don't even know if they have Tv-in. Also, my brother's friend is looking for a decent, AGP video card for around $100-150. Is the 9600 non-pro any good? I haven't looked at benchmarks or prices in such a long time, so I'm kind of in the dark here. Edited January 30, 2004 by SuperFly123

The 9600 is a decent AIW card yes, but for gaming I wouls seriously recommend getting the 9600 Pro or 9600XT over the non-pro.

Matt.
Yes, a pure red is #FF0000. An easy way to remember it is the first to places are the red content, the second two places are the green content, and the the third two places is the blue content. So, to put it simply.. #------ Erm, yeah.
GTA3Freak-2001
Ok I am having a very annoying problem with IE, I have my homepage set to my ISP's website but whenever I exit IE and then reopen it the homepage changes to about:blank which gives me a blank page. I click on default and it goes back to my ISP's and I click apply. It stays like that until I quit IE and reopen it. What's going on? Another thing thats bothering me is that ctrl+c will not work in IE, for example if I copied a link from any IE window using ctrl+c or right-clicking and going copy, when I go to paste it into the address bar nothing happens. This also goes for pasting it outside IE like in Word, Its not my keyboard because copy and paste works perfectly in Word and any other word processing program. I've only just recently reinstalled Windows so its a mystery to why this is happening. I am running IE 6.0 on Windows XP Home SP1.
Lawley
Can you have windows XP installed on 2 computers at the same time (As I have 2 and still be able to activate it because ive heard its not possible just wondering?
Edwards
No, as with all recent and most if not all non-recent Windows versions, you're only allowed to have it installed on one PC per licence. XP is just the first that gives you sh*t if you break the rule. sysnode.org

SteakPhish
The processer is fine and the memory is fine (I recommend going to 512 MB though) but a radeon 7500 is pretty bad. A Radeon 9x00 should do the trick, but if you want bare cheapness an MX440 barely gets the job done.
