Young
Thanks But I m trying to hook up my ps2 online But I got this error DNAS Error(-611) Edited May 26, 2005 by Young
Wolf68k
This is why details are so important when asking for help. I don't have a PS2 but from what I've seen here from others, you still need to get that info and enter it in manually to the PS2, right? You need the Default Gateway, Primary and Secondary DNS IP addresses. Well you can still get that from using XP's ipconfig -all commands

I read somewhere there's a way to enable that on someone as a practical joke.. well it somehow enabled itself on me - how do I bypass this and get my command prompt back? CrazyDude
I've got a nice little adware bug that I can't seem to zap. It's a window that pops up called Aurora. It seems to only happen when I have firefox open. I've ran s&d and did a virus can. Spybot finds the problem and removes it, but it comes back. Sorry I can't give more information. Young
I need help again Well I cant get to move my items on my desktop and other places. And I cant get to see to move them around and other stuff. Can somebody hopefully help me Thanks
magical_trevor
Do you mean you can't move the shortcut icons? Try right clicking on the desktop (or the folder) you want to move the icons in, then highlight "Arrange icons by" and uncheck "Align to grid"- this should allow you to move the icons about freely. Young
Well I find something that can help me but i was really understand it and I found this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;117129. Can someone make this more understanding for me. Edited May 29, 2005 by Young
Wolf68k
This doesn't sound like it relates to your problem. Let's take a few steps back. You say you can't move icons that are on your desktop? When you try to move an icon to act like it wants to move and then snaps back? Or do you get a NO on your mouse when you try to move them? Now for the others; "and other places" where is that exactly? Try this. Boot into Safe Mode and login to the same account. See if you can see and move the files then. If so, run Ad-Aware and Spybot and your anti-virus and make sure they are up-to-date as well. And I know how old that advice sounds, more so coming from me, but stranger things have been known to happen.
magical_trevor
My start menu in XP SP2 is being inferior- when things get added to the start menu, instead of adding a 3rd column, it continues adding them in the 2nd column, but pushes them off the screen. Like this: I do have a lot of rubbish in my start menu, mostly stuff that came pre-installed, like 'Tiscali Browser', but I'm too lazy to get rid of them, and I don't see why Windows is being stupid... I've seen people with 3 column start menus before, so I don't know why my PC isn't doing it... If it's any help, I'm using 1024*768 on a Geforce FX5200... magical_trevor
Is there anyway i can change these to whatever i like? You can get rid of them, but I'm not sure how to replace them with whatever you want... To get rid of them, right click on the start button>properties>'start menu' tab>customize>advanced and then in the 'start menu items' section, you can uncheck what you don't want. Fozzy Fozborne
Does anyone know a program to encode Mp3 and/or WMA files to M4A? My mp3 player is compatable with M4A, and I have some files in that format, but many are still MP3's, and M4a is supposed to have better sound at lower bit rates. Thanks By M4A, I assume you mean AAC (the only other possibility I can think of is lossless, which wouldn't make sense) - in which case I'd recommend against transcoding (re-encoding a file that's already compressed with lossy compression like MP3), as it'll reduce the quality. If you want to do it anyway, iTunes can do that for you. Just right-click the song's entry and click Convert to AAC (if it's some other format name, you need to select AAC in the importing prefs). sysnode.org

I need a new video card you see... Exactly what HP do you have? You can either go to HP's site and do a search in their Support pages to find the specs page. Or you can download Everest Home Edition and then look in Motherboard->Chipset then look to see if you have AGP Controller or PCI-Express Controller (I'm not really sure about hte naming of the PCI-Express one, maybe someone with PCI-E can varify that for me). It'll tell what you have, if any, and what it supports.
