magical_trevor
Where did that link go to the program that removes Video card drivers completely?I searched with no luck. Is it this you were looking for? I think it was Atomic who made a reference to the NVIDIA driver cleaner program, but he didn't link to it, he just named it, but I think that may be it, if it's not the exact program he mentioned, it looks like it does exactly the same thing. Dalpura
I got a lovely new keyboard, just one complaint. Function keys work differently, sort of. F5, which I had always used for refreshing a page in my browser, now just brings up the open a file screen. I had a look in the key setting program that came with it, nothing though about the F keys. I couldn't find anything to help me in the help pages either. It's an M$ Digital Media Pro keyboard. Thanks.
Cran.
Is there an F-Lock or anything? Microsoft tend to have those on their keyboards.
gkl
So I'm using xp pro + sp2. The other day I tried to install the Alienware theme (wallpaper, icons, theme, wmp skin). Well, after the installation it kinda acted weird, so I uninstalled it (it also required windowblinds and iconpackager. i didn't have them, but the installation still ran flawlesly). But now I see that the Outlook Express icon in the start menu (I use the new xp start menu style, not the classic one). So, is there a way I could get it back? Sure, it's nothing much but still it makes me sad. heh

Dalpura
Is there an F-Lock or anything? Microsoft tend to have those on their keyboards. Now I know what F-lock does. I'd actually never seen an F-lock key before, and there wasn't anything mentioned in the manual. Cheers. @gkl - Tried this? Right-click 'Start' -> Properties -> Customize, and there you are. Not entirely sure what you meant, so hope I was about right.
gkl
Thanks, Dalp. It didn't help but, oh well, I just used System Restore. But then again, now we come to another question - so system restore brings back the computer to it's previous state but it still leaves some programs, so I can undo the restoration. Anyways, is there a possibility to "activate" again those programs but not to undo the restoration? Edit Sure, if I'm horribly wrong, feel free to yell at me Edited May 10, 2005 by gkl
CantTouchThis
I'm having a bit of computer trouble. K, so today I was browsing the internet when I get a message that some files were missing from Windows, and that would would effect its stability. I attempted to close the window, but it kept popping back up. I rebooted Windows, it went through the Compaq loading screen and then the Windows loading screen, right as you see the blue backround of the password prompt screen, the computer restarts the process. I've attempted to boot in safe mode, not knowing if it'd work...but it didn't. My laptop's using Windows XP Pro. Help would be greatly appreciated. If you can try and do a virus scan and a spyware scan. Links for good anti-virus and anti-spyware are in the topic 'READ BEFORE YOU POST A QUESTION' if you don't already have any protection. CantTouchThis
I can't turn the computer on anymore, like I said up there where I described it. I use Spybot, Ad-Aware, AVG and a couple of other programs with my Zone Alarm firewall. And yes, at that time I could use my computer while the message was up, the message just couldn't be minimized. It just stood in front of whatever I was doing.

(Usually most annoying popups describe themselves as a SYSTEM process.) but if you can't use your computer anymore, maybe you should reformat/reinstall windows. His computer had some vital Windows files removed. Once he rebooted the files were out of the RAM and since they were not on the hard drive they were not reloaded. Therefore his computer keeps restarting, if I read correctly. I'd try booting from my windows cd and choosing "repair mode" or whatever it's called. Has saved me from having to clean install a couple of times.
Bond996
So, anyone got an idea of how I can get XMMS (in Suse Linux 9.3 Pro) to play my mp3 files on my server (not this computer)? I got Samba all set up and sh*t, I just can't figure out how to play the lil f*ckers. Help much appreciated XMMS won't play from a samba share by using the smb:// protocol. I mount all of my shares and play them then to make it work fine.

Also try enabling cookies, it usually works for most websites. I honestly don't see why anyone would disable cookies. I mean, yeah there used to be a big scare, but now it's confirmed that cookies aren't really that big of a a threat (if at all) to your privacy and/or security. If you're paranoid just run Ad-Aware and it will remove the tracking cookies.

I went there to try log in with a non-existent account. I clicked the username field, hit a few random keys, then did the same for password and pressed enter. Home » Welcome gfg, To Fonetastic What are the chances . The password was "gfg" too. Anyway.. the point of this is it shows I can log in (even if it was with an account I never knew existed)

Knightmare
I couldn't find anything after a quick glance through google and Microsofts help database, so I'd assume it's a hardware issue. I'd exchange it. Edit: Is there a program like Notepad but accepts more characters? For example, if you rename a .mp3 to a .txt, save it as a test file and change it back to .mp3, you can hear most of the song but its messed up a little bit.
