Quick Time Alternative is the only media player with a decent browser plugin that I've found so far. It comes with an older (modified?) version of WMP too, which imho is pretty damn good. Yeah, I had one with the little ball (dunno their name in english) and it tended to do taht every now and then. I have an optical mouse now and on the beggining it did somthing similar like moving towards the border of the screen but no so often. Lately I have noticed that it doesn't do it anymore. I guess I got used to its movement. But also it could be a surface problem. Mine is on somekind of plastified wood which is pretty flat. anus Posted February 27, 2006 Share Posted February 27, 2006 Ok, I just tried to put in my heatsink on my video card and it didn't hold it in place, so I just wanted to ask whether there would be any harm to the processor if I mix some super glue with thermal paste and then apply it to the heatsink which will stick for sure? If I do this, will there be any overheating problems, because I want this heatsink to cool better not make it worse. If you didn't know, super glue is a glue which is extremely extremely strong, it can stick two fingers together for about a day. Thanks a lot. You might want to do some tests. Try starting with equal parts of each and try glueing 2 plastic spoons or something like that together. It tells me to "please login with anministrator privilages and try again". Quake 4 and COD2 also did the same. I checked my user account, and it says i am the computer administrator. If restarting doesnt work, log off and go on a guest account, and then log off and then change to your regular one. Just make sure that if you are using the account labeled adminastrator, then you do not vreate another profile because it will cause the admin account to disappear. You can use them as input devices to plug in from other audio/visual systems (like I ran the RCA cables from my PS2 to my stereo and I put the sound on there instead of the CD). I don't want to buy a $150 sound system for my computer, so is there any way I can get RCA cables to run from my onboard audio to my stereo system's RCA inputs? I think what I need is something like this: But I have no idea what would plug into my PC. Does my motherboard have a 3.5mm jack? - That's what I need to find out the most, and I've been searching and searching and searching and can't find out if it does or does not. Speech recognition is a very involved process. its going to take a few days to gt one in, they dont seem to keep a good supply of generic 101's in town. involved eh? i tried sphinx, but didnt get it working because it needs java. no, there will be no java, so dont suggest getting it. Have you tried looking at the back of your CPU? The 3.5mm jack is the standart that comes with most headphones/speakers (speakers for a PC, that is). Try looking where your speakers are connected and if it doesn't look like a 3.5mm jack, grab a pair of headphones from your CD/MP3 player and look for a matching female connector in your mobo. RoAcHcliP Posted February 28, 2006 Share Posted February 28, 2006 (edited) At the moment, i am running on Windows xp pro 2.6 Ghz p4 4 gig pc3200 RAM Nvidia 6800GS AGP Games dont seem to run as well as i think they should, when it is autodetecting settings it always puts things on low. Surely this system could do a bit better than that. Autodetecting aside, games in general are quite choppy. My motherboard is quite old, so do you think this is what is causing these components to not run as well as they could? Is it perhaps not using the RAM or the GFX card to their full potentials? I tried it with 2 different burners. Are the discs still fine? I just burnt 3 in a row, from different burners and media, and they had read errors. All it says is "An unknown error occured while trying to print" I'm using version 1.5.0.1. The printing used to work, because I've printed from firfox before. And the print isn't the problem, because I'm able to print from the same machine to the same printer using a different application, like IE. Any suggestions? You right clicked your desktop and went to properties and under the themes tab you selected royale and applied it yes? Maybe when it was unzipped it needed to be unzipped to a specific file, if i remember it needs to be in "C:/Windows/Resources/Themes" Something like that. I need to backup ~40GBytes of data though so could anyone suggest a good way of backing up without using DVD's and whatnot.
