xappie
Hi there I use a Logitech mx500 mouse connected to the ps2 port, with the refresh rate set at 200. This works really well in all of my games, except for Vice City. In VC, it the mouse movement seems really coarse - so that it is hard to aim precicely (ie with the sniper rifle.) The tiniest movement of the mouse moves the cross hair too much! Is there any way I can fix this? (I am using windows xp home SP1a, Dx9.0b, and the latest logitech drivers.) Any help is appreciated! lolo603
set the sensitivity to the lowest... that gotta do it... but the thing about logitech mouse... i am not sure about the MX500 but it happens to my Cordless Mouseman... what happened is the vertical sensitivity remains unchanged no matter what sensitivity we set in game... it's a known issue for GTA3 and GTA-VC... and R* doesn't seems to care... darknyt6
I use an MX 500 and mine works perfectly in game. I have the windows speed set pretty high, but I don't remember what my VC setting is. But yeah - I have no problems with the mouse in game.

Yeah, make sure the sensitivity is at a low level, then try it again. Or you can get a laser mouse. Very nice and smooth.
kweeky
It seems that even without pointer precision disabled, the mouse under XP is still influenced by an acceleration curve. This is especially noticeable in games, including Vice City. To completely remove mouse acceleration from XP, you will need to go into the registry and adjust the SmoothmouseXYCurve values. Here is how its done. 1. Click Start button 2. Select Run 3. Type 'regedit' in the open textbox 4. Open the tree 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER', select control panel, then select mouse 5. Right clicking, modify the SmoothMouseXCurve and SmoothMouseYCurve hexidecimal values to the following: SmoothMouseXCurve: 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 00,a0,00,00,00,00,00,00 00,40,01,00,00,00,00,00 00,80,02,00,00,00,00,00 00,00,05,00,00,00,00,00 SmoothMouseYCurve: 00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 66,a6,02,00,00,00,00,00 cd,4c,05,00,00,00,00,00 a0,99,0a,00,00,00,00,00 38,33,15,00,00,00,00,00 If done correctly, you will notice you are holding a markedly more responsive mouse. Hopefully this'll help ya.
