Twas a good one.....even the undercard was okay, but you can tell that they gave the undercard a crapload of time on velocity cuz ALOT of people werent wrestling this week, and i read the velocity tapings....its sorta a good thing though, makes velocity alot better for anyone that gets a chance to watch.

 

and its looking good that Goldberg wont resign.

Just watched Smackdown!, but I missed the first 15 minutes or so. It was a good one, a lot of good matches and segments, but I don't like the way they portrayed Lesnar. Sure, fill him with rage because he lost his title, even make him slightly psychotic, but don't make him almost cry. It put him across as weak really.

 

Props to Eddie and Chavo though, they put on a damn good title match, and to be honest I didn't expect it to be that good. I also noticed that Chavo is surprisingly good on the mic. He's been cutting a lot of good promos lately, and interviews.

 

Also I gotta give Angle props for his heel turn. He's already getting major heat from the crowd, and I'd forgotten what a good heel he can play. He actually has a heel look about him now, and I think the chest hair helps.

Hmm.. I never have time for SmackDown! anymore, I could never watch it now with my Badminton from 12 to 2.

I just finished watching Raw and well It was OK. Booker T and Rob Van Dam had Tag Champions, well thats different. The other Matches were Good, Victoria's Face Push is going well and she was amazing, I liked the Attire.

Still Rnady Orton and Mick Foley was going good until Evolution came down, then it gets boring, like before and the week before that and the week before that..

Benoit did well yet he doesnt take the Sweet Chin Music as well as I thought.

Kev, is it OK if you create a separate topic just for the UWT season, like how the favorite wrestler poll is its own topic? There seems to be too much switching back and forth between discussing the season and the actual show. It seems that every time I come on here to discuss wrestling, everyone's talking about their stats and the season, and when I come on to talk about the season, everyone's back to talking about storylines.

 

Smackdown was awesome last week, Lesnar gave one of the best promos ever. I can never say enough about that guy, he's only what, 26? 3-time champ in under 2 years, he could end up chasing Rock's all-time record.

 

Eddie's so great as well, and is shaping up excellent storylines, with Lesnar, Angle, and the Chavos all breathing down his neck at once (it seems heading into Mania, Smackdown comes up with the best storylines). He reminds me of Bret when he won his first title: all these years people saw his talent, but weren't quite ready to give him the ultimate prize. When he finally got it, he ran with it, and made it a dynasty. Eddie obviously hasn't had the belt that long, but he could do much the same thing. Also, while not as good as Bret as far as in-ring ability, he does have one advantage that Bret did not at that point in his career: better opposition. When Bret first won it, Flair was injured and on his way out, Razor Ramon was still a little green, and the feud with Michaels was still a ways off, so he spent the first few months defending against guys like the Berzerker, Papa Shango, and Damien Demento. Eddie has Angle right off, will definitely feud with Lesnar again down the road, Chavo is running a very Bret/Owen-like "relative in the shadows" angle, and there's always Cena.

True, he seems to use the same material, but that isn't his fault. For what he has to work with, he's good, and he shows good emotion too in my opinion.

 

Anyway, Eddie. I was unsure of him winning the belt at this time, and still am to be honest, but hopefully after his match at WMXX my mind will be changed. It's going to be a classic.

I dont want to make a new topic about it as if i make a new topic about it then more people are going to want to sign up when there are no wrestlers left. For the next season I will start a new topic for it so people can actual still have picks. I'd make a topic but then Id have a bunch of new people and it wouldnt be fair to them if they were left with people like Rico and Rodney Mack to choose from. Thats the reason I just dont want to make a new topic. But most people just include the UWT seasona and Wrestling discussions both into their one post. Its pretty simple. Im done doing King of the Ring now but I want to wait until the draft is over to post the results. We have a few new champs though, but I wont tell you which belts switched hands. Gug, if im not mistaken its your turn to pick, and then LD so go choose from the remaining wrestlers.

 

Also, on a side note...Menace, I got 2004 and its just as awesome as you said. Amazing.

Vince McMahon has already approached Goldberg about negotiating a new deal. The offer that was placed in front of him was not all that decent and an agreement could not be reached.

 

There is always the chance that WWE could work out some sort of deal where Goldberg would show up on big PPV days and for special appearances. That may not be something Goldberg wants to do though so we'll just have to wait and see.

 

 

 

Why even offer him more? Why Vince? And Goldberg turned it down. It goes against the old saying, "Beggars can't be choosers."

I actually wasnt the hugest fan of the Lesnar promo, but it was still great, you know he's a team player when a man like him, whom could kill almost any man in the world, basically crys on camera.

It’s not like funerals are ever a happy time. But I have to say that

when I walked into my father’s house after his memorial service it made me

smile when one of the first faces I saw, that I hadn’t seen in a very long time,

was that of Mr. Hito, who lives in Osaka, Japan now.

Back in the heyday of Stampede Wrestling Hito was one of Stu’s

most trusted foremen and reliable workers. A lot of people assume that my

father taught me to wrestle in the fabled Hart dungeon but what Stu taught me

was submission wrestling. When I was twenty years old my father’s tag team

champions were two of the toughest and hardest working Japanese wrestlers in the

business. Hito was a respected friend of the family. He said to me, one

time at my father’s house, knowing that I’d been city and provincial amateur

wrestling champion. “You biggest one (of Stu’s sons). How come you no wrestle?”

He and Mr. Sakurada offered to teach me in their spare time. I said

sure. I would learn over time that there was no such thing as spare time in

wrestling so these guys taught me in time they never really had! I’d had a lot

of wrestlers offer to teach me, but they never actually showed up. Japanese

wrestlers are different, they’re true to their word.

I lived in the carriage house behind Hart house and I woke up a couple

of days later to Hito and Sakurada pounding on my door and peering in my

window, “Come on! We teach you wrestle!” It seemed like every morning I was down

in the dungeon learning endlessly how to fall, to protect myself and even

more importantly how to protect my opponent - yet be physically convincing as a

wrestler. The Stampede Wrestling territory was world renowned for being one

of the most realistic, hard core promotions in the business. After five months

of “taking bumps” they told me I was good enough. I remember asking when

they were going to teach me drop kicks and head scissors and Hito smiled and

said, “That’s the easy stuff. You can figure that out yourself!”

People often say to me, where would wrestling be without Bret Hart!

But my answer to that is, where would Bret Hart be without Mr. Hito! Early in

my career I gradually became a sharpened sword thanks to many matches with

both Hito and Sakurada, the Cuban Assassin, Dynamite Kid, Leo Burke, and

countless others. I would go on to become the Excellence of Execution, respected and

loved by my fellow wrestlers for twenty two years with an untarnished safety

record. In all those years of slams, kicks, and punches I never hurt one

wrestler - except, unless you count the time I chipped big Vader’s tooth with a

steel chair. Hey, he moved. But the point is that I owe all my success as a pr

o wrestler to the greatest grand master of execution, my old friend and

mentor, Katsui Adachi, better known as Mr. Hito. After staying the winter in Calgary

visiting his family Hito is heading back to Japan next week and I wanted to

thank him, with the deepest gratitude and respect, - for everything.

its amazingly how easily we can forget some of the best matches....this is arguably match of the year....its like 25 miinutes of street fight terror....HHH gets the barbed wire 2x4 in the head so many times...nasty bleeding...and foley gets cuffed and chaired....its amazing they go about 20 minutes after already mauling eachother....to bloodyness....they use everything in site. (YES, EVEN THUMBTACKS)

Ah Menace, that match was the sh*t! Seriously, it sticks out in my mind as one of the greates matches I have ever seen, and it was the first title match I ever saw too. Yes, considerably short term fan.

 

I believe this was the one when Foley got handcuffed, and The Rock himself interfered. Tazz's debut the same night too. But yes, that match was leet.

 

I've been wanting to see that again, since, well, the day after the Rumble. Foley and Trips had some killer matches; their Hell In A Cell match at the next PPV was just as great. Now I feel even more like renting out some classics. Damn this country in which I live in.

Foley is a legend...all around the world. If you've seen some of his japan matches you'd totally agree. Barbwire for ropes and they even had light explosives. It was totally insane, I got some off of Kazaa and they are so damn gruesome. Its the most Hardcore ive ever seen.

 

RAW is on tonight! Im pretty excited about it as Benoit should kick Micheal's ass backstage or something. There may be an announcement to change to match to a ladder match aswell. We'll see. Also, tonight, I think the Trish/Jericho storyline is finally going to start excelating greatly.

 

I think Vince will announce the first ever interpromotional match for RAW vs. Smackdown at WMXX, and it will be Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg. Then he'll kick Bischoff's ass. They wont fight at mania, they'll just be enemies now.

 

If the cruiserweight battle royale does take place, it will be phenomenal. I guarantee it, as its said to be a pinfall elimination match. So its going to be long too. I hope London wins, but he wont. I hope London squares off against Akio at some point as that would be some amazing cruiserweight wrestling. Any way it goes, I just cant wait to see it.

I got his book, the first one, that outsold all books....my god its amazing....you get to hear EVERYTHING about EVERY BACKSTAGE THING from ALL the promotions he was in....i only read his early wcw days.....soooo soooo sooo sooooooooo informative.

 

 

Raw should be a bit better this week....i hate how much Goldberg gets to look over for all his matches...he should be the one crying and bitching on camera for his job, cuz your sh*tty working ass is gonna lose it.
