That was one of the best moments in WCW history, along with the first absolute NWO beatdown on Goldberg...but honestly that finger poke was golden. WCW Nitro played tuesdays in the afternoon back then over here, and we watched it every week after school in our school lounge. That ending had the whole lounge packed going crazy. Of course that was still when nearly ever guy in the world was into wrasslin.

Yeah, it was a little later on in wcw, the wolfpac was sorta the beginning of the end, but it worked for a month or two..

 

But the fingerpoke will always live on as one of the best jobs known to man. Hollywood Hogan was the most over heel of all time. For awhile at least, in a sense. Argueably the most over, and still a "60/40" type of heel that still had a huge fanbase in the crowd amungst the people chucking thier beers in disgust

Ha, it is great the UK are getting Raw live now, before it they have like Afterburn, Velocity and Heat, so I am still not onto Raw, but it is great and keeps us up to date. Impressed with some SmackDown! stuff going on, seems cool but the whole spinny disk on the US Championship, is sort of stupid.

WCW was f*cking brilliant from like 92-98ish. Then it just fell apart from the inside..

 

I still reminise about how I actually watched thier programs for all classes of wrestler.. Hollywood Hogan and the NWO's domination of the heavyweight division. Us title was never anything too special, but TV title and Cruiserweight title matches were the best wrestling matches on television at the time. Even there lowcarders got to put on a show..

I could see anyone but Edge winning the title in the elimination chamber. Yes that also includes Benoit. I think they're going to have Edge bitch about not having the title for a while longer. Going in descvending order, this is who I think has the best shot to win the title: HHH, Orton, Batista, Benoit, Jericho, Edge. Icould see Benoit or Jericho switching places in that list but that's how I think it's going down.

 

The X factor in this match is HBK. Special referees always impact the match. I could see Micheals knocking out Orton in the scenario Kevin described but that would imply an alliance between HHH and HBK that's the last thing I would see happening. Over the last they've worked too hard to build up the animosity HHH had of being second fiddle to HBK in DX. So the only way I could see Micheals interfering on HHH's behalf is if HHH guaranteed him a shot on RAW the next night or something like that. More likely is HBK knocks out HHH for Orton or, for a real surprise, for Batista to pin him.

Okay, for attributes, we'll all start at 42 overall. Now, the way you get to 42 overall is your decision. Go customize your attributes now and come back when your overall is 42. (EX. when you first create your guy, you start your attributes and they're all 1, customize them until you have no more experience).

 

The experience and superstar point system will work the same way as the HCTP RPG I did last year. Read those rules if you don't understand.

Should we post it here or PM you? I'll post mine sometime soon, I'm scrapping my last idea of a wrestler with STD's in favor of another crazy Russo-esque gimmick.

 

About the WCW posts: it was brilliant starting about 96 with the formation of the nWo. What got me back into watching wrestling was the nWo. Aside from Bret, Shawn, and occasionally Taker, WWF didn't do it for me at the time. Really what I think made it so great was the novelty of seeing Hogan as a heel for the first time (yes, he was a heel in the old WWWF under Vince Sr. and managed by Freddie Blassie, but it was an entirely different time period). It was "Hogan's doing WHAT?!? This I gotta see." And he, along with Hall and Nash, pulled it off so well that it did what the WWF couldn't do: make fans sit up and take notice.

 

The problem was, the nWo, like every other angle in history, could only last for so long. They kept trying to find ways to bring them back and keep them in the spotlight. The Fingerpoke of Doom was one such thing. While it was awesome to see Goldberg punked like that, a lot of fans thought that the nWo was starting to wear out its welcome. The real decline of WCW started when they brought Vince Russo in. He came up with the most idiotic face/heel turns with no explanations or ones so ridiculous it pissed off the fans, pushed undeserving wrestlers (Prince Iaukea) with horrible gimmicks (The Artist Formerly Known as Prince Iaukea), and created awful gimmick matches (Viagra on a Pole, Graveyard Match). When David Arquette became World Champ, that was the last straw. RD Reynolds also recently published a book on the Death of WCW. Check it out for a more detailed explanation.

well if one of them should go heel, i would pick eddie guerrero,because i just cant picture rey as a heel,and the fact that eddie is short tempered and one day he would turn on rey would seem like a more realistic story

Eddie was a heel a little over a year ago though. Rey's never been heel, it would be a new change for him. I don't want to see a repeated story where some guy snaps and turns on the other. Rey should just go psycho over a period of time.
