REX_TEH_FAG 0
Ok i posted this before about the y-axis being more sensitive. But someone told me to follow a link to bug fixes and there wasnt a fix for this problem. So pls tell me in this topic.
The Quick and the Dead 0
You cant just adjust mouse sensitivity in the options, or your Windows Control panel?

ironjim 0
I have the same problem. The y-axis is much too sensitive. If I turn down the sensitivity in the game the x-axis becomes too slow. Even if I set the windows mouse speed to the lowest it doesn't change in the game. I don't have this problem with GTA3.
1337jman 0
unless you have someone who can look thru VC's files which seems hard, or you adjust the sensitivity through windows, there probably won't be a fix until fixes it
Deviance0 0
hmm I get the same prob, I have a Logitech MX300 Do you guys all have Logitech mice? that could be whats causing it.
Rhinopotomas 0
What about sometimes when you alt-tab the game the mouse doesnt move on the desktop? Does anyone have this?
ironjim 0
I have a Logitech MX700 mouse.
TiTaN_KGB 0
i have a logitech mouse but i see no probs, you can change x speed, but y speed is constant on all mice.
Deviance0 0
hmmm no. Rhino when u do that go back into GTA and alt tab agian, it should work then
digweed 0
it's the same here and i have a microsoft wheel mouse optical. in win98 it works. its damn bitchmode
REX_TEH_FAG 0
unless you have someone who can look thru VC's files which seems hard, or you adjust the sensitivity through windows, there probably won't be a fix until fixes it Rockstar will never fix it. That has become apparent to me for the past year and a half. I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it. Someone else will have to do it while they're counting their money. deenhead 0
If you have a logitech mouse, there is an option under the tab "motion" to disable acceleration in games (the new 9.76 Mouseware drivers). I think that will solve your problem IF you have a logitech mouse. If you don't, try disabling mouse acceleration some other way.
ironjim 0
"disable acceleration in games" does not solve the problem
T Vercetti 0
I have that mouse problem too..win xp and microsoft mouse.
Karstedt 0
I doubt that this problem will ever be fixed, but it sure would be nice. I have XP and a Logitech mouse. I don't think it's really OS or mouse dependant. I've looked for a controls config file (a .ini or something) because there is usually a sensitivity multiplier you can dink with, but VC doesn't seem to have one.
Muze 4
I'm also having this exact problem and it's been tolerable up til now (I think many others are also tolerating it without speaking up about it). I'm on the mission where you have to save Lance at the junkyard and shooting all those enemies at long range is near impossible when I can't control the Y axis of my mouse. In fact shooting is way too difficult all the time but as the missions get more intense the game becomes unplayable because of it. I mentioned in another post related to this that I described this exact problem to support and she said that they are looking into it, but I feel the same as the others about not getting my hope up about it. I have this problem with both a logitech and microsoft mouse.
Vetinari 0
Sent an email to Take2 more than a week ago and still no reply. Someone mentioned they received "it's being looked into" after mailing them though, so i guess we'll just have to hope for a patch that fixes it. XP Pro with MS Intellimouse Explorer here btw - it doesn't seem mouse-related. Maybe only XP? A friend of mine has almost the same setup as me, except she uses Win2000 and zero problems there. But i'm not about to install another OS to get the mouse to work Quite strange actually how one of their major selling points of the PC version turns out so buggy...
shurcool 0
same problem, kind of got used to it (was very hard after counter-strike), but would love a fix.
ricecake 0
I want to add that I have this problem too. All I have to do is move my mouse an inch and my Y axis moves its entire range, its pretty ridiculous. I have a logitech MX700 mouse. I also am blessed with a Radeon 9700 pro, I can only get the game to run correctly in windows 98 compatibility mode, the textures dont load properly if I run in regular XP. This game is sweet, but I have huge problems on my computer with it. I should just go out and buy an nvidia card and an intellimouse, maybe then it would work right
Vetinari 0
I should just go out and buy an nvidia card and an intellimouse, maybe then it would work right Nope, that won't do it coz i'm using a geforce4 ti4400 and an intelli and have the same prob. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem related to specific hardware
[187] 0
I dont know if this will do it (I dont have the problem, but I try to help)... ROCKSTAR'S TECHNICAL HELP: I'm getting a jumpy or uncontrollable mouse when trying to play the game. This occurs most often on a Windows XP system (Home or Professional edition) in which the user has installed the game for use with a single user only. To circumvent this problem, you should instead install the game and choose installation "for use by all users" when prompted.
Vetinari 0
Always install everything "for all users" so that won't be the answer to the prob on this particular PC. But ok, gotten used to it in the meantime. Can hang on a bit longer

solace64 0
Logitech MX500 WinXP I get the same problem everyone here is describing, I've disabled mouse accel and I have the game installed for all users. This was a problem in GTA3 for me also and that was with Win2k and a Intelli mouse.
Chicane 0
It has been a month ago since the last post I see. Any news on this subject? If not, then I wont trust Rockstar, but return the game to the store.
facboy 0
sometimes people don't notice a problem because they are happy with the default sensitivity...eg one of my mates. he hasn't noticed anything wrong b/c he plays everything with ridiculously high sensitivity anyway
BaronDark 0
In regards to the mouse issues, here is some things I noticed while troubleshooting some high-end systems where I work: While testing 3 different PCs (each P4 2.0GHz, 1GB RAM, 128MB ATI adapter w/Win2000 Pro) that were locking up, I noticed one of the errors pointed to an IRQ conflict. After investigating the interrupt request assignments, I noticed that the Logitec optical mouse (with the most current drivers) was sharing an IRQ with the ATI adapter (IRQ16). The associates wanted to use an optical mouse, so I tried installing a Microsoft optical. This corrected the lockup issues, and no other problems occured ... UNTIL the identical office in the corporate headquarters changed the machine standards for this department. We were required to install nVidia ti4600s with 128MB on board. The lockup problem returned, but it seemed to be related to a memory allocation error. They were too impatient to properly troubleshoot this new crash, so as a quick fix, I tried an old Microsoft ps/2 Intellimouse on one PC, and the errors have stopped. These are professional color matching/graphic design workstations, and not used for any gaming, but the hardware conflicts might be similar... ...can't hurt to try
